ALF follows the adventures of Gordon Shumway, a furry, wise-cracking alien from the planet Melmac who crash lands into the garage of the Tanner family. The Tanners offer him a home and give him the nickname ALF, short for “Alien Life Form.” Created by Tom Patchett (The Carol Burnett Show) and Paul Fusco (who also performed as ALF), the half-hour sitcom rose to popularity in the late 1980s, cementing itself in the pop culture zeitgeist.

ALF: You guys are getting ripped off. You get a whole package of balloons for $0.69. Kate: Oh, no, ALF. Seven years ago we took out a mortgage on the house. ALF: Just to buy a balloon? Willie: Look, could we not talk about this right now? We've only got a week to get ready for the garage sale. ALF: You're selling the garage? Willie, Kate: No! ALF: Well, that's good. Because we're gonna need some place to store that balloon.

I think it is sad how they ended this series, with ALF being captured by the government. Then, the follow-up movie years later has the Tanners in Witness Protection, supposedly in fear of ALF, and meanwhile, ALF is being tortured by the government for information. It's a disgrace how they ended it because it is not at all in line with the actual series. Although it was the same voice actor for ALF, I still couldn't finish the follow-up movie because they completely destroyed an icon from my youth.

Alf deserved a much better resolution than 'Project: ALF'. They could have done a story arc where the secret got out and Alf became a celebrity.

I was born in the early 2000’s but my dad was born in the 80’s area and watched it himself. So growing up he made us watch ALF as kids. And me and my siblings loved it. I still love it to this day. It’s so funny and hilarious it’s a classic.

Not gonna lie, this episode was quite the wakeup call for me. Not that I was addicted to gambling or anything, but I got in a situation that very nearly landed my family in financial debt just the same, all because I needed to pay the colour/line artists on my indie comic. So I decided to start up a GoFundMe campaign instead, and Lord knows if it'll work out in the long run.

But... if Alf already sent the $50, and never received any winnings (which we know because he has no cash to give the bookie), and he was only trying to get $11k to help with the balloon payment, then how does he suddenly end up $6k in the hole after winning a whole series of races? What kind of insane bookie lets a customer on a hot streak bid $6k+ on a single race? This plot is driving me bonkers!

Two shows had a bad ending Alf and the Muppet show Dinosaurs. The ending of the Dinosaur show they sit around waiting to freeze/starve to death. I also miss the show am I the only one.?

i love Alf he will Drive anyone up the wall no matter what you say or do and the best episode i loved was when he was talking to the FBI because he allso did the same thing to them
