This swap meet looks so much cooler than the old fart flea market in my town. The size of the flea market is huge, but it's mostly old crap that people never buy. The same vendors trying to sell the same antiques that nobody under 60 has a connection to. I am a little envious, but happy that you found these sweet finds.

Earthbound beginnings is the fan hack and translation of the original Mother game for the Famicom in Japan it was never officially released for the NES. It was however translated at the time just not released. Earthbound zero is that official translation that Nintendo finally released on the virtual console and more recently on the switch online service.

Earthbound Beginnings or "Zero" is a repro cart of Mother from the Famicom in English. The series in Japan is a trilogy, Mother, Mother 2, Mother 3. We only officially got Mother 2 released here in the States as Earthbound.

Interesting that the Frankenstein figure was labeled as Frankenstein versus Dr Frankenstein's monster 💀 In regards to the earthbound game. It was not released in the US for the Nintendo at all I think you might have as a repro or whatever it's called when they do that like take the ramen put it on to like an actual cartridge

That copy of Earthbound beginnings is a reproduction cartridge made by VGDB (Video Game Database). It launched I believe sometime in 2018 and is popular among the fanbase for the Mother franchise. As far as I know it's essentially considered the "proper" copy of Earthbound beginnings (as far as English NES copies) for the purpose of collections. I actually just made a list of NES games that I'm looking to complete and since I don't intend to collect Famicom games this copy is the one that I've decided to put in my list to look out for.
