No doubt, but what helped MJ become the Goat, was the fact, that as he got older, he was able to still elevate his game play. Even when he could no longer just fly by the defense and throw it down, he used other methods to flat out embarrass his opponents, not to mention that he played solid defense ✌🏾

Watching this game also shows why Jordan didn't win a championship until I believe his 8th year, he didn't have enough help on the Bulls, watching him play with the Olympic team makes it very clear to me, that if the Bulls had been able to surround Jordan with a great supporting cast like he had on the Olympic team (which was more like the 91 Bulls team) he would have run out of fingers to put rings on. I disagree. He wasn’t the most fundamentally sound player by a long shot, but he was the most all-around skilled. He never fully developed his left hand and he wasn’t a particularly skilled passer. Larry Bird Tim Duncan Bill Walton Magic Johnson John Stockton Bernard King Alex English Rick Barry Jerry West Oscar Robertson Mugsy Bogues Mark Jackson Jack Sikma Steph Curry Kevin Durant Moses Malone Kevin Garnett We are talking about guys whose fundamentals were the foundations of their games. That wasn’t the case with Jordan. His athleticism and skills were his foundation. Those guys had all of the fundamentals, from the footwork to ball-handling, passing, etc. Jordan was as complete a player as you will ever see, but it was because of his skills and athletic ability as well as his formidable (but not superior) fundamentals.

@@hennylo68 back in the day, 1big is not enough. Whenever a promising big like Hakeem is available, teams pick them. Banking on Sampson alone was not a wise decision when they know another one is available. Bigs have much higher premium during those years. But I would agree that if Hakeem was not in that draft, Houston would certainly pick MJ. You are correct Drexler was already in Portland, that actually further my point about their team needing a big man. If bowie wasnt there, do you think they would not pick MJ even they already had Clyde?

@@a1obbr630 Jordan won 6 champions 2 three peats with the same exact team after retiring over a year. You can't even argue for LeBron the delusions. Greatness is clearly defined in character. When did LeBron ever play against the NBA All Stars before drafted? When did he win a Championship in College, or a Gold Medal in the Olympics before being drafted? You can even compare the levels. Jordan was practically a Dr. Of Basketball before being drafted. They don't hand out PHDs to basketball players but being the best in your field made you that. Ironically he was compared to Dr. J the architect of that style.

Lebron needs to watch this game and listen to what their saying about his play. The great Bobby Knight once said he was the greatest basketball player he ever seen. Now what does that tell you. He knew just like I knew he was destined for the greatest to ever play this game. MJ's college team was the last college team to win the Olympics. And that why they formed the Dream Team. He's going up against NBA stars and killing them. Lebron needs to take note on who's the best. Lebron gave his own self the name king james. The fan gave MJ, AIRNESS,AIR JORDAN just to name a few. MJ is the GOAT and that's final.

@@jonathanbatturs6359 Thats because you had to go to college to get drafted and play for a yr or 2 and most athletes played out their college careers or left 1yr early. Of course that had a lot to do with NBA pay back then also. Plus the culture and relevance of a degree back then played a factor in most college athletes decisions. A degree was worth as much as getting drafted in most cases plus college basketball was probably more popular than the NBA back then. It really hadnt went international yet and ppl looked at college athletes with a bit more reverence back then so most players wanted to stay in college unlike today. Js
