Lifelong Bengals fan, but I loved watching Bettis. I was a fan of his from his days at Notre Dame. He was the epitome of what you want in a running back.

Been a Steeler fan since '69. Nothing better than a super cold game with snow and a flask of Jack Daniels in your coat to watch the game and freezing your ass off at 3 Rivers. Always liked Tomzack. It was hard being a Steeler fan between Terry and Ben but liked Tomzack.

The Bus loves the snow. Watching this reminds me of the snow storm in Chicago and Bus plowing over Brian Urlacher. Both are hair raising.

This was my first Steelers game at home.... I flew up from Florida and had the TIME of my life. *GREAT* football game and *SNOW* in the same day!

The time I made TV in a blizzard at Three Rivers Stadium waving my Terrible Towel in my #24 Ezyk jersey lol. Yes, I have my own jersey. I remember we played football against the Lower Burrell Police that morning at Flyers Field. We found extra tickets at the last moment. Three Rivers Stadium went nuts after Lee Flowers uppercutted their TE, Wales. Both players were ejected. At 16:38min. right after Bettis broke 1,000 yards for the season....it was snowing like a beast.....the stadium thundered, "HERE WE GO STEELERS.....HERE WE GO!!!!! MAN, THOSE WERE THE DAYS. We had our shirts off later in the game on tv lol. Gets me rowd up just thinking of that moment. #HWG

I was at this game w my parents. My dad made us leave early and we almost died driving home in the blizzard. The most scared I ‘ve ever been. Lol

WOW!! How could i have forgotten about Travis Davis, AND his 101 yard fumble rec. for a TD! I swear, i FORGOT about it! I'm freaked out!!

This was a fun game. They had some fun games that season and in those losing seasons even if in a losing effort. That Travis Davis play was wild to see live and still was wild to see it play out again. The Steelers started out competitive that 1999-2000 season going 5-3 in the 1st half of the season, but would quickly sour. This win against the Panthers was their 6th and final win that season, finishing 6-10 and missing the playoffs for the 2nd straight year after reaching them in their first 6 seasons during Bill Cowher's tenure. There was some uproar about getting Cowher out of Pittsburgh, but I think after this season or the 2000 season (which had winning season and just missed playoffs) the Rodney's signed Cowher to a contract extension. This 1999 team had multiple reasons for the drop-off after 5-3 record due to QB play, injuries, upstart to some of their divisional foes Titans and Jaguars, amongst other things. This played out a lot different compared to the 2003 6-10 season where that season was a huge struggle and they never had their footing to get in the winning gear. Seeing Richard Huntley with these runs, just shows how special he could have been with thr Steelers, but as you heard the commentary about Fred Lane and the Panthers knowing his fumbling issues, the same could be said of Huntley. I believe the lack of ball protection was hus ultimate downfall, which was a shame. A lot of fun to see him play, but protecting it is the most important thing. Only fun thing imo about playing on astroturf is when there are huge puddles or lots of snow on the field you get to see the players to slip and slide and look like they are having fun. Glad they have natural grass in Heinz Field (soon to be renamed probably) over the last 20 plus years

Ray Bentley and Ron Pitts on the call, they were FOX's #6 team at the time. I would call Ray, Pat Summerall Jr. Player who became PXP.

Yep. I was there. There was like 45-46 fans there. Tail end of a bad seasons. The more it snowed, the louder it got. People screaming “Steelers to the Super Bowl next season!”

What has changed in 23 years? The Olines were so much more Physical then. The game was more of a smashmouth game. Not better. I love todays NFL but this just brings back so many memories. '99 was definitely NOT one of Cowhers best teams but they did play that tough Physical brand of football that Steeler fans love. Thanks for one of the more OBSCURE Stillers game.

They had a great defense in 1999 and some great plyers on offense, they just needed a QB.
