This game looks like a mobile ad game that fell back in time to 20 years ago, and yet I have to admire its bizarrely original execution of "voice-activated pinball with army tactics". It's certainly unique, and I respect that!

I was worried that I only thought this game was hard because I was a child. Good to see that I thought it was hard because it was hard.

To think that this was the last GameCube-exclusive first-party game, and the penultimate GameCube first-party game overall, with Twilight Princess getting a release on both the GameCube and the Wii! Also, did you know that, at one point in development, Odama was intended to be controlled by the DK Bongos, of Donkey Konga and DK Jungle Beat fame?

Imagine the opposing army just having a giant pinball machine and your battlefield is one big stage for it.

This game was ahead of its time. Brush up the art direction, keep the dialogue goofy, add a vs mode, and I can see this being amazing for streaming.

"Are you sure this is the way to do warfare?" "Yes, what do you know, lowly soldier?" Like, that's barely even a joke, that's just a valid observation of most organized warfare.

Every game genre can be made better by combining it with pinball.

I remember reading about this game in Electronic Gaming Monthly. Nintendo made some interesting decisions back then. Quirky idea, weird concept, but looks amazing, and wow it gets dramatic Lemmings & Pinball Creator of Seaman. It makes sense

I don’t know that a simple game of pinball, would turn into a strategic war game. I also like that they turn the ball into a cannonball. Using a microphone to command your army is a very cool feature for GameCube.

Unfortunately for Nobunaga, the Odama ploughs through his set firearm lines, which his enemies were falling to. Perhaps the next time he faces the might of the Odama he will be better prepared. Unless he gets assassinated, but what are the odds of that?

This one's been a long time coming, and it was just as weird as I was expecting.

Credit where it's due, I thought this was going to be a game that used voice commands as a dumb gimmick, but I actually think it would be _harder_ to control if all the troop commands had to be bound to the buttons while you're also trying to hit the paddles with frame-perfect timing.

Kinda reminds me of those awesome pythoneseque Rock of Ages games. Sadly a bit underappreciated.

This game rules! I never managed to beat it, and I never will, but damn is it hilarious! Fond memories of announcing to everyone in the house I was going to play it every time so they didn't think I had gone insane.

I remember using a GameCube microphone before because me along with others also had it with Mario party 5! (Edit it was actually 7!)

I was wondering how exactly I missed this game when it first released, and apparently this came out in April 2006. That makes it all the more baffling that they would release something like this, just a few months before the Wii launched.

the little things the military goobers say on the field make this much more enjoyable than it should be.

Feels like one of those games where they spent all their effort making the different elements function to some level and zero of their time playtesting if anyone in the world vibed with it, or even understood how to play it on a basic level.

1:12 non, non, non, a sealed PAL (french) version was sold 120€ in august, who can believe those prices? I can sell a dogshit for 10.000€ at this rate! But yeah, the game could be found in bargain bins in french supermarkets for 10€ not long after its release. Check the sold items option, not the "i'll never sell my game" one.
