There's also been an insane increase of pitchers getting hit by the ball after a good swing or perfect swing which most of the time ends up being an out because it bounces to someone or the bases.

When my diamond shield Bryce Harper dropped a routine fly ball that he jogged to, in a tie ball game top of the 9th with 2 outs is when i knew this game was straight RNG

My biggest issue this year is with pitching. I obviously aim to dot my opponent right? But sometimes even with perfect pitching inputs, I’ve seen the ball go nowhere near where I want it to and get punished accordingly. Isn’t that what the translucent circle is supposed to indicate given perfect inputs? Why does it feel like a fucking lie?

Perfect timing doesn’t mean anything this year.

Very early/very late timing on pitches way out of the zone should NEVER be anything but a swing and miss. Period. The number of foul balls on those swings is insane and has been an issue for years. It drives up pitch counts and extends ABs, turning what should be strikeouts into homers.

I literally can’t describe how much all of these grievances resonate with me. I experience the same exact issues on this game every freaken day, it is exhausting

I consider myself an average to above average player. When I try to work on having a good eye and pitch recognition, there are times where it can be a struggle. The thing I cannot stand is when I am struggling and hit a perfect perfect line out or just good timing line outs while my opponents just swing at everything and get rewarded. The game almost incentivizes you to swing at most pitches in anything below legend

You highlighted my #1 gripe - bad pitching input opponents somehow pounding the edge of the strike zone for DOTs. I think this is a huge part of the DDA / equalizer for online play this year.

I lost a ranked game last night on 4 consecutive hits all hit between 60-79mph. Oh an how about the plays at short or second where they run like they're stuck in mud and just reach for the ball even though it was only hit at 80mph and they could've reached it if they were running at their actual speed. I've also got animations which completely take away the ability to make a diving play on a ground ball.

Might get drug around for this one, but I feel like the ball doesn’t stay in the yard this year. I literally don’t even know how people reach World Series when I am seeing dudes in the 300 and 400’s swing at NOTHING at all and PERFECT PERFECT everything. Can’t get people to offer at stuff right on the black or even a smidge out of the strike zone. Also sick of seeing my swing feedback say that my timing was “good” in green letters and I swung right through the pitch. Idk, this years game is the worst one in the last like 4 years if you ask me.

Thanks for making this. Completely agree. I stopped playing last week because I was consistently losing to people who would get bloop hits and then foul off a million balls before cranking an early home run. Meanwhile I’m lining out twice an inning on 105mph piss missiles. I think the most frustrating thing for me about foul balls is the worse timing and PCI you have the better chance you have that the foul ball will go out of play. The better swing you take it’s seems more likely to stay in play and be an easy out.

Every single game feels so sweaty and i hate it like i swear pitching is so much worse and every game i play ends up being 10 to 12 or 11 its ridiculously and home field advantage is absolutely crucial to win tbh

I had one the other day where I rounded 2nd and I was going to get thrown out at 3rd but the opposing SS had the ball and started a run down but then they just dropped the ball while running towards me and I ended up safe at 3rd. I’ve seen some real bloopers in 24 but this was the worst one.

Honestly the only thing that has been really pissing me off is the amount of times when I have a great pitch that paints the corner and my opponent gets a very late/very early home run

Just played this team "Cackboyz" hes in penant race as well as I am. This guy is batting almost a .450 average and hits a perfect on every single pitch. Hit 2 home runs on pitches that were balls. Why even take a ball? Its a potential home run. And how come these guys that are ridiculously good at the game are in the same division as me? I'm not very good at the game, yet EVERY person I play is TOP tier

I time the ball up pretty much good everytime and it’s an out %90 of the time, my opponent is late and early and gets hits left and right, the game is literally backwards

Nah there's one outside slider I threw as far as I could outside, it landed a good 2 feet out of the zone and someone blooped a double, that pitch lives in my head it was so ridiculous

Had a game on HOF where my opponent had 70 foul balls. I also feel like it’s hard for me to get a good team that can compete without spending money. I always feel I have to try hard every game cus I’ll match up with people with babe and other insane cards when I have a 92 overall team and I’m 29-10

Hadn’t played online since 2022 when o hit .290. Im hitting .336 this year. Hitting is a joke this year. Throw a perfect pitch on the corner, misses for a ball. Throw a perfect curveball out of the zone it hangs there for Aaron Judge to obliterate. And this usually happens after an error or bloop hit. Absolute crap.

I switched to pulse pitching and timing hitting and there’s really no difference. It’s crazy

How is meter pitching compared to the others? Ive been using meter pitching cause its what i grew up on as im an older gamer 40+ years old and havent played a baseball game since MVP 2005. Im 17 days into DD so far and havent played any online yet. I noticed with meter and even pinpoint that the ball isnt going to where i put it sometimes even if i have perfect input or am barely off. Alot of times i just want to play a game and not have to worry about doing the whole pinpoint mechanics cause meter is just alot more simple and faster. Is PP really that much better than meter?

This game is designed to make u lose against bad players no matter what. I’ve played games where my opponent struck-out 21 times while I struck out 3 times and having good timing consistently but line drive outs then my opponent hits a late swing homer and that’s it. I lost 1-0 no matter how well I keep hitting the ball

Low level player but I agree with most of what you’re saying. However pinpoint is still very reliable for me. When I’m spot on perfect timing and ° my pitch usually lands close to the center of the circle no matter how big, but ive noticed much larger variance with every millisecond and/or ° left or right that you’re off. But if you’re not nailing perfect after perfect I feel like the game really begins to punish you as well in higher difficulties

The Show is messed up this year. The animation issues are getting unacceptable. Is it because they trying to pack more and more canned code, on top of old code, into an old framework? Is it because they mess with the way the ball goes into animations as it gets to the fielder, in order to fix old problems...but just causing new ones. Honestly the game hasnt been truly overhauled since before the PS5 launched. The whole game needs to be rebuilt from scratch and a new hitting engine that includes physics, should be used. Im not sure if they can fix one thing without breaking another, at this point. SDS seems to care very little about the state of the game...but i guess we will see. If they dont listen to their ranked players, what future does the game really have? It just feels like they have 100 priorities and NONE include the actual game. Ive experienced more weird bugs than ever before....warping players....warping ball....objects clipping into each other....camera jank...etc. I appreciate content creators like yourself being the voice of us players without one. Been playing this game since 2012 and diamond dynasty in 2016 when it came out and bro the gameplay the last 3 years have sucked so bad, it’s just home run fests, like every game is me hitting 25 homers and same with my opponent and it’s 21-20 every game.

I think bloopers are more prevalent because people wanted more singles and normal hits instead of every at bat being a strikeout or home run.

Seems like the game decides before the game even starts who it wants to win. I won against a player who was roughly 40-20 and another about 50-20, against Randy and John. Game after that I lose to a player 100-100 with Brandon Webb.

It very well may be a skill issue but for me I can never see the pitches good enough I feel like the batters eye is terrible. And like most are saying when you do square it up nicely you aren’t rewarded

Lol, I can't believe people are getting mad that there are more hits this year. Foul balls and swings, I get it, but the almost infallible defense and HR-only approach of 2023 was absolutely terrible and not realistic at all. It got so boring. Plus, getting mad that good players are losing like 5% of their games instead of 2% is not something that ANYONE should remotely care about. Certainly is not relevant ti me lmao

I actually like most of these changes and think it makes the game feel closer to the way it is in real life. Bloopers, fouls on pitches outside of the zone, and hard hit balls directly at fielders are a things that happen in every single game. Luck is a huge part of baseball.

Foul balls are terrible on all star too. I do recognize it. And these guys constantly get very late hits early and late Homer's. And I rarely get rewarded. And it's funny I just now heard u say the foul balls and I was typing this before I heard u say it lol

I’ll set the setting… BR my 10-0 game I have a one run lead first and second and No outs I get my opponent to hit a ground ball to third. I have Ryan McMahon at third base and I throw it to second for an around the horn double play. The throw was a green meter And this dude under handed the ball all the way from third base to second base and all runners were safe. When In the history of baseball does a third baseman underhand the ball to second for an around the horn double play? The fielding in this game is sooooo bad. The most errors and bad animations I get is from good fielders. I don’t think willi Castro has ever made an error for me.

Slider pci shrinkage is the worst issue in this game

WS player every year since 14. Won a game 8-7 on AS where I had 11 perfects and I had 5 through 3 innings with only 1 run. Game definitely does not reward competitive players for good input.

Idk much about the game. I’m a new player. I can’t hit a ball to save my life but my team doesn’t look like yours either, but it sounds like you just want home runs and yea that’s about it. But look at the contact on those teams. My contact is 86 if I put together the best contact team I can. You’re going to hit the ball with 100 sum contact. Idk like I said it’s my first year playing. I seem to always want to shut it off and go back to nhl. So I kinda hear you i don’t really enjoy it but I want to play

It’s made for “engagement” trying to keep people on the game longer to have them spend money. Same kinda matchmaking COD has. It’s all a cash grab.

And the CPU defense is ridiculous. If I see one more diving catch with runner on a coring position I may take up serial killing If you play vs CPU any games it feels like it is scripted into the dramatic storyline soap opera scenario constantly. I hate ranked season so I have no opinion on it All I can say about it is if 1?record is in question they all are
