To be fair, it’s a very stressful job. I don’t know if it’s changed these days but when I was a kid, you were actively punished if people return things while you were on shift. It was their job to accept buybacks on games and other stuff, but there was like a secret quota where if you went a certain amount of buybacks they’d punish you, even firing you. Shit used to be extremely stressful, cuz there’d always be that one dude that got massively unlucky on his shift and got a ton of buybacks.
@@IHateNicolasCage i was at a GameStop one time to trade my extra Xbox 360 for store credit and they were using a super old tv to test it, it was so old it still had the aux ports (red, yellow, white) in the front. He hooked it up and there was no picture so he jiggled the ports and the picture and sound came on. He then unhooked it and offered me $20 for it because “it was broken and would need to be sent off for repairs”. I couldn’t believe what i was seeing, him blaming their janky ass tv on my console then trying to rip me off. I left a bad google review and was given the copy and paste reply from corporate but I haven’t been back to one since
