this is bible study for fun and enjoyable for those of us who love the Word of God. Someday in heaven I hope God will give us videos of all the things in history and how they really happened. Brother Joe in Jacksonville, FL
+Joe Snyder DEAR BROTHER IN CHRIST; MOST OF CHRISTIANS BELIEVE THAT OUR ETERNITY WILL BE IN HEAVEN; THAT IT IS A DOCTRINAL ERROR OR MISTAKE; BY READING CAREFULLY YOU WILL REALIZE THAT AT THE END OF EVERYTHING THERE WILL BE 3 NEW REALITIES: NEW HAVEN, NEW EARTH AND NEW JERUSALEM. GOD HIMSELF WILL DWELL WITH US IN THE NEW JERUSALEM. IF YOU ARE OPEN TO HEAR MORE LET ME KNOW AND I WILL GIVE YOU SPECIFIC PASSAGES IN THE BIBLE TO SUSTAIN THIS TEACHING. STAY BLESSED IN JESUS NAME.
I don't agree in fact the New Heaven, New Earth and New Jerusalem are just three place and you will find that the New Jerusalem will be located on Earth Yes, God is supernatural but I think a lot of Christians cannot understand that God has a natural side too. like, majority of things God does actually are in the realm of natural and in side of all the laws of physics and relativity. will all things be 'natural' No of course not but he is mostly like still going to have his body so he will be one third natural.
I was raised in Dr ruckman's teachings at bible Baptist (PBI) I am now 47. I came across your channel and I am so blessed. Thank you for giving me a disabled person the opportunity to learn from you. Thank you brother for what you have done for me just by making this channel.
You are blessed when you’re reproached for the name of Christ, speaking truth being poor in spirit, completely emptied of self, not listening to a disgusting false preacher, like this who distort the Bible and twist everything to his own liking.
One of my dad's professors in Bible college years ago believed there was a gap between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. My dad has mentioned it more than once over the years and I always found it intriguing, but never put much thought into it, but it made sense. I've always been curious, and always knew satan fell before Adam and Eve were created, so there has always been more to the story. Thank you for this most enlightening Bible study! You've laid it out so concisely! I was taking notes the entire time!
Original sin = own will. When u do YOUR own will it will always lead you to sin. Jesus did not do His own will, but the will of the Father! When we have self control and deny ourselves and do the Will of the Father, we can defeat sin through Christ in us.
Original sin was the Lack of Faith. Think about it! This First Sin gave way to all others. The Faith theme is throughout the Old Testament and was reiterated and emphasized by Jesus in the New One. He said to Thomas: "You believe because you have seen. Blessed are those who believe, yet have not seen." God wants us to believe in Him, and not repeat the mistake of His first created humans. Adam and Eve did not trust God to tell them the Truth, even though they saw Him. From that time on, God wanted people to believe in Him, even though they did not see Him. Otherwise, what would be the meaning of Faith which is required of us? It is all about faith! Faith that is not dumb or blind. Faith in God and His ways which are greater than ours.
Lack of Faith is the original sin concerning Adam and Eve. Re. Satan, his sins must have been those of pride, vanity, grandiosity, narcissism, envy, greed, violence, thievery, etc. He thought and tried to dispossess God. These are the same sins we find in his human followers.
All flesh is sin. Jesus who knew no sin became sin for us by putting on the flesh. He did not take on the sins of the world at the cross, he was God in flesh of man. Jesus cried out to the Father because he is the Father, he can pray to none higher. There was none other to give him a name! If you see Jesus, you see the Father. He & the Father are one. "Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is one!"
Brother may I say this we can disagree on everything in The Bible accept one thing THE ENTIRE LIFE , DEATH AND RESURRECTION OF JESUS !!!! I don't have fellowship with anybody who does not 100% believe that through the Holy Spirit. ..I believe we have brothers and Sisters from just about every christian denomination who will be with us in GLORY because of their true belief in JESUS as Savior saved by grace born again! !!! I enjoy watching different "theories ".. but I'm glad you made it clear that it's not doctrinal, but a theory! !!!! I have been on both sides of the coin no gap or A GAP like yourself... so when other brothers and sisters get on here and try to beat ya up over theories let's just pray for one another and lift each other up to The Lord and remember this theory doesn't make a person a heretic or false teacher!!!!
Except if any of that is true... how can God claim He made it in 7 days and that it's 'good" and that it's the "first" earth? None of it lines up with scripture, actually.
@@twsartadventures3660 this is true... could be that God is referring to the *total* days of creation. Not the start-to-finish total days. Kind of like the flat vs. round earth debate. There's Scripture to back up both
@@areallycoolhat5427 Yea, the flat vs round and gap theory stuff is just there for us to read and be curious about. If someone believes there's a gap or that it's round or flat but still believes God created it all that's fine. The most important things is that you're saved and you rightly divide the Word of Truth and you believe in God and Creation, not Evolution.
Great teaching.. I just learned about this from Gene Kim.. and I'm really loving dispensationalism! Thank you for sharing your study book.. gonna look that up! Also.. I noticed the book doesn't share the flat earth.. which i fully believe is a biblical truth as well! Blessings.. cya there or in the air! Todd A.
I'd like Mr. Breaker to do a "What's the shape of the Earth" sermon. Just like this Gap Theory stuff, the shape of the Earth is an interesting subject as well. I believe it's a globe but when it comes down to gaps and Earth's shape, it really doesn't matter what someone believes as long as they believe God created the Universe and the Earth and they're saved through Paul's Gospel (I Cor. 15: 1-4 KJV). The rest is just there for us to read.
I was also a globe believer. I don't know why The Lord God has allowed me to see this "flat earth" truth. TRUTH.. If you can see the same star constellations 6 months from Now, then you are not orbiting around the sun..
I lose all original sin out of my life, the life of my family, the life of my friends, the life of my colleagues and the life of my acquintances and the life of all who needs this gift by the word of God almighthy and the grace we receive through Jesus Christ, this prayer is sealed with the blood of Jesus Christ from now and at all times: amen!
Well done Robert, this was a great presentation of this subject which I heard about 45 years ago but never delved into and puts into perspective events mentioned in the bible of which I had questions like “when did Satan actually fall?” and “how did he have access to Heaven to converse the most high?”
A new house being made that only has it's foundations would be considered as "without form and void," it does not mean that it was destroyed already. Context is important when reading the Bible, obviously.
There again, what did God mean when He wrote with His own finger on a rock, Exodus 20:11. This, for your information, also includes the angels and satan.
Good Silas. You are right. The teaching has a lot of injections of personal thoughts and misinterpretation. The word replenish must be fill from the original Hebrew. Without form and void from the original root does not mean destroy or chaos. It means formless and empty. This is because it's yet to be made. Create and Made are two different words in the Hebrew. Making is the establishment of form on that which was created formless. Also, nowhere in the whole bible did it say God REcreated the Earth. He only created once and that was it.
I feel I must point out that the word replenish was used in the original 1611 King James Bible, but in those days the word replenish only meant “fill”. It wasn’t until the 1800’s or so that the dictionary added a second definition of “ fill again”. Newer publications then swapped the primary and secondary meanings. Now the newest dictionaries only have the definition of “fill again“. Same with the word “let”, in 1611 “let” meant “to hinder”, now it means the exact opposite. It’s amazing how Satan has changed the definition of words through the centuries to confuse and divide us.
Yes, it's actually what we call a transitive verb which in the webster 1828 still means to fill or to complete. God's order to man was to complete the earth through reproduction. One usually asks why replenish only twice in the Bible? Because only twice did He need it filled and it is a word He designated only for human life to show our distinct difference from animals. Almost like He knew people would come up with evolution so He used different words to separate life from rocks, and animals from man.
I loved this thanks, I’ve listened to many non canonical books from the Essenes Dead Sea Scrolls that support the Gap Theory and I’ve heard that the world is to be recreated a 7th time when God creates a New Heavens and a New Earth, and the Lord says “I am making a new thing”. I can only see 3 creations in this study though… I’ve always wondered about it and would like to learn more about that. Thanks again for this brother it was very refreshing.
This is why Pastor Breaker disables comments in this videos. Something about the Internet seriously brings out the sin and demon in people. It's unreal.
Thank you, brother, for your bible study, I really appreciate the time you spend in investing in my knowledge of the scripture. God Bless you. Rosie from the Mountains of Mourne
luv your presentation skills. i use your teachings for those who question different views and for just teaching as you present with fairness, truth, scripture and humour YOUR AWESOME
That's what explains the chaotic state mentioned in verse 2 ... a better idea of what happened only follows from taking all those various texts and putting them together in a way that makes sense. God doesn't create disorder or darkness ... only Satan and his demons wreak havoc.
@@brucknerian9664 Hmmm... FORMLESS: תֹּ֫הוּ tōʹ·hû wilderness, wasteland, emptiness; desert, nothing (2x) Gen 1:2; Jer 4:23 VOID: בֹּ֫הוּ bōʹ·hû emptiness, wasteness (3x) Gen 1:2; Isa 34:11; Jer 4:23 Verse two describes a state of formlessness and void, which could be interpreted as disorder and chaos, but that would not be consistent with the context. God created from NOTHING is also a valid conclusion and more in keeping with the context. The presence of water should not be a mystery, Water is associated with God from Genesis to Revelation. That's just a small clue...
Could this gap theory have happened between verses 24- 26 of Genesis chapter 1 ? Could this explain the great beast ( Dinosaurs ) of the earth that died out ? God Bless.
God bless you for teaching the Bible, I am thankful and encouraged to see how many you are teaching Bible to. Can you address how Exodus 20:11 says everything was created in 6 days if there was a gap? How is it "the first day" "the second day" etc if there was up to 2k years before? How was satan in eden until he sinned when eden was made on day 6 if he sinned before the 6 days of creation described in Genesis? I have never heard these points addressed from those that teach a gap theory
One of the most amazing sermons of Robert for me was his explanation of the 144,000 in Revelation. I have never thought of this in my 72 years and it was a shocker to me how people could miss such an important event in Revelation. Indeed, this is how GOD works past any human's normal interpretation of the scriptures. We need to think more and deeper with the brains God gave us. There is no need to go outside the Bible because it is all there for us to seek and implement in our lives. By the way, I have listened to thousands of videos about Revelation and never did any of those mention the 144000 as you do and where they will come from. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thank you Robert for all the knowledge that you share with us. May God bless your service and time for Him.
I have always thought there’s something deeper there . I’m so happy to come across a teaching on this. I know dark represents evil. And water being there before water was created. Would never get and answer. Thank you for teaching on this subject.
After watching this video I believe it's very possible that there's a "gap" between Gen 1:1 and 1:2 but I wonder why it wasn't mentioned in Genesis more explicitly about the fall of Lucifer and the original Earth? Gen 1:1 or 1:2 could have had more information on it but it doesn't. That's interesting.
Thank you Bro Robert. Happy to see someone else thinks along the same way I do. There was always a problem to me to think someone God made that went void. After listening to Dr Chuck Missler years ago teach on this subject my eyes were opened to a real gap. Things made more sense. Of course we know there were giants too. Even though the government disappears them. Thank you for having the courage to dig deeper.
I’m familiar w/a gap, but God is all knowing, therefore I think God would have made a way for the so-called first world to continue as he did with Noah. As you said, God would not create something w/out form. I’ve studied all these passages in Ezekiel, Isaiah, Genesis and Revelation, and it’s still something to consider. I trust if there was a gap that would be a one of secret things that belongs to The LORD as in Duet 29:29. In heaven (the New Jerusalem), I trust we will not ask some of the things that we say here on earth, “we will find out in heaven”, because we will be too enthralled with worshipping and our service of our Saviour. Great study as usual brother Robert‼️
I believe the Bible....6 literal day's of creation God rested on the 7th just like God said...the flood caused all the layers...dino bones etc yes God made the dinosaurs (the good ones) the same day He made us, Gen 6 explains bad dinosaurs, I'm a literal 6 dayer Lol but we can still fellowship you are my brother in Christ... God Bless You
You have to admit that Lucifer was created good which means he didn’t become created the same day and decided to rebel on his day of creation. He as in charge of praise and worship afrer
This is mugenyi from uganda , I say thank you pastor breaker , I have been studying that same theory , and I believe it to be correct . Yes it's true brother . Most here in Uganda don't talk.about such . But I now see that it's right after what you've just given us . Yes it's true . Thank you very much . God bless you .
I've been studying you know for a year... I never knew about Rightly Dividing the word of truth. I didn't know about actually worshipping God his way, I am truly saved and I Thank you Mr. Breaker. God bless you and see you in the Kingdom of Heaven
Being raised a Catholic, I can relate to all that. I got saved a while back watching Mr. Breaker's videos and I'm glad you did too!!! You be blessed and I'll see you in Heaven!
Thank you for what you do . I love listening to you . I am trying to listen to all your videos . Your such a wise teacher . Thank you again for sharing your knowledge. Bless you . May God anoint your tongue and mind .
This is so amazing and I do believe this. I have always felt that our Earth was “Recycled”…that was the word I used, and how interesting that the word “recreated” was used in this video!!! I praised God after watching this as God revealed this to me, but I couldn’t back it up with the word of God. This is so incredible! God is so good!!! ❤Thank you For breaking down and with the word of God! I also ordered that book you showed. 😊
Pastor Breaker, I personally, don’t think there is a gap. I believe it was exactly the way the Holy Spirit inspired the words. HOWEVER… I don’t know… I wasn’t there. But you’re right… it’s a secondary issue that won’t break my fellowship with another believer. Bless you, brother!
Those arguing about "replenish" need to keep in mind our modern definitions are different than those of old (archaic)... even so, the original hebrew word in any context simply means "to fill; complete" and doesn't imply "again." The word is used multiple times (242) and only 7 of those times is translated "replenish(ed)." I understand why many are die-hard KJV enthusiasts, but our our modern language isn't like how it used to be. We don't say "I wot not" anymore, we say "I don't know." Versions like the NKJV and the NIV still honor the original language, but in a more modernized tongue that we all can understand. Translations, by nature/definition, are to make something understandable to those who can't understand it. Sorry for the tangent... my point is: chocolate milk is awesome.
Ernest, I am glad that you raise this point - "the original hebrew word in any context simply means "to fill; complete" and doesn't imply "again." Many English translations versions show the word 'replenish' or 'refill'. "eSword" lists a number of versions in its resource. APB has fill. ASV has replenish Brenton has fill Darby has fill GW has fill JPS has replenish KJV replenish LITV fill MKJV fill Webster has replenish YLT has fill Stong's Concordance has this entry for KJV 'replenish'. Hebrew - "H 4390 - מלא מלא mâlê' mâlâ' - maw-lay', maw-law' A primitive root, to fill or (intransitively) be full of, in a wide application (literally and figuratively): - accomplish, confirm, + consecrate, be at an end, be expired, be fenced, fill, fulfil, (be, become, X draw, give in, go) fully (-ly, -ly set, tale), [over-] flow, fulness, furnish, gather (selves, together), presume, replenish, satisfy, set, space, take a [hand-] full, + have wholly. If we read fill the earth in Gen 1:28 the idea of a second creation becomes very flimsy. A comment on the following quote of yours "Translations, by nature/definition, are to make something understandable to those who can't understand it. " God has set in His church various gifts - apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherd - teachers. Eph 4. It is the task of teachers to give the meaning of the text. Whether they do or not is their responsibility. It is the task of the translator to use the closest word in the target language, not to teach but to tranliterate as closely as possible. We have a huge problem in the modern 'churches' owing to bible translators and editors doing the work of teachers. Jesus was a teacher of the Scriptures, but He didn't try to bring out a new version.. He just stuck to His role as Teacher (ONE OF HIS MANY ROLES). WHAT A TEACHER!!
Replenish in English means the same thing today as it always has. It's not different. So, in English, it means to "fill" and also to refill. Both definitions are the same as yesteryear. The definitions in the KJV has not changed. We are just ignorant of our own language. There's no need to go to Heb/Gk. Rather than going to modern versions to find modern terms, how about looking up unfamiliar KJV definitions? No, we can't do that but we will readily go to a subjective Hebrew or Greek Lexicon (Strong's, Vine's, et. al.) What is the problem with the KJV? None. We are just conditioned to believe there is and that we are somehow handicapped by it. The term "Archaic" is a boogeyman term to discredit the KJV. There's little if any validity to it. No, we don't say, "I wot not" (I know not) today, but what's wrong with telling folks to look it up. Are we so afraid to tell people that Bible study is a requirement? Yes, we're afraid (rather, we know) that our microwave, instant everything, lazy millennial converts will be out the door at the first whiff of discomfort. BTW, The NKJV and NIV do WAY more than update language. The NIV changes the doctrines of the KJB. The NIV doesn't especially like Jesus a whole lot. Read side by side with KJV.
@@ianmcdonald8648 KJV "replenish" in Gen. means "fill" in ENGLISH, not re-fill. KJV English is correct. Replenish has always had two meanings in English.
I have a question about the “spirits” referred to in 1 Peter 3:19, who Jesus preached to after His crucifixion: I’ve always assumed that they were the souls of the dead and that He preached to them to give them a chance to repent, now that He had died for the sins of mankind. But, you said that those spirits were angels, which seems very odd to me, as Jesus died for our sins, not for the sins of angels. Where am I going wrong?
You are correct... One must consider the Holy Feasts. Passover (Messiah) Firstfruits ( many righteous was raised with Yeshua and went into the surrounding cities.) After this The Fall Feasts has us in the grave awaiting the 2nd coming.
Brother Robert can you teach on the 24 Elders? I believe its the bride, but it would be much appreciated! Thanks again for all the time you invest, you are truely a blessing!
QUESTION: At 29:20 on your clip you talk about the 5 Charubs, stating they are or were Arch angels when in other videos you say Michael was the only Archangel. Being KJV only I believe Michael is the only one mentioned as an Arch Angel. Confused, thanks in advance.
I hope I don’t make anyone upset with my comment. Please forgive me if I do. I am very new to everything as my mind in the past couple of years has me wanting to learn & learn & learn. Learn the TRUTH, whether it’s about Religion, Earth, Life, Politics etc. I’ve also been doing deep dives about occults, Free Mason, Skull & Bones, etc. Raising my awareness about all the Satanic symbolism I’ve been seeing everywhere has brought me closer to God. Now, I am also trying to learn about Jesus & God, & get more familiar with the Bible. I don’t know where the drive comes from, but I feel it everyday, wanting to know the TRUTH in no matter what the subject is. And yes, I have followed Q, and anyone who actually did any research on Q knows it’s not what the MSM says it is, not even close. Anyway, when You said to check out Bible Patterns and how God is always worked with 7’s & that God has this plan of 7000 yrs of history. You also mentioned that God uses the 7 over & over & over, you just can’t get away with the number 7. Well I found that to be very interesting. I say that Bc many people believe that the Bible was written by a secret society. They are the Free Masons. And when you think about it, the Free Masons are VERY big with numbers. The number 7 was said to be “perfect” because it contained the numbers 3 & 4. 3 & 4, the triangle and the square, the perfect figures - and was itself indivisible and could not be created by multiplication. Some freemasons will claim that together the seven officers represent how human consciousness works. Also, the 7th letter in the alphabet is what? G The letter G in Freemasonry means Geometry under the Great Architect of the Universe, and therefore it is used to remind members of the fraternity to act right and work on improving themselves as we are all under the Great Architect of the Universe. So, I just wanted to point this out. I’m not saying that the Bible was written by Freemasons, I am just simply stating that it all seems like it could all tie in together. Remember, I am still new to all of this and I am keeping an OPEN MIND. I am a believer in Jesus, the son of God and pray to him daily. Anyway, thank you for the video and illustration. It really helps me understand what you are preaching.
Experts have determined that our Spirits/Souls are eternal, so the most important issue to ponder next is: Where are you going to spend eternity? Praise be to the God of Abraham Issac and Jacob Remember kids, no one will be in hell for their sins; they will be in hell for not accepting Yeshua;s remedy for sin! Thank you Yeshua for entering your own creation (miraculous) and providing us with a remedy for our sin.
Dr Andy Woods, President of Chafer Seminary & Pastor/teacher Sugarland Bible Church has completed an excellent extremely detailed critique on the whole Gap Theory. He is a fair man who covers all these 3 arguments in an unbiased way.
Thank you Pastor Breaker! discovered you in Sept and have listened to all of your videos! any chance on doing 2 Romans a week? Feel like we're running out of time! would also love old testament prophets like Isaiah!
I’m now re-listening to this. I have two issues with the latter two theories: 1.) Why would *_”THE_*_ Gap Theory”_ imply theistic evolution? It would seem to *EXCLUDE* it, since whatever catastrophe befell the earth would destroy whatever (macro) _”evolution”_ had occurred (if any). 2.) What is the basis for limiting *_”A_*_ Gap Theory”_ to only thousands of years? I see no language in Scripture to determine the *length* of any gap. Whatever the reason for the catastrophic end of the first creation (not just the earth), it might have taken millions, even billions, of years to undo. And if Scripture is silent on the length of the gap, then we would probably be left to use scientific observations to determine it.
When was satan cast down? he had to have been cast down before the creation of the garden or else the serpent wouldn't have been there to tempt in the first place
When God said in Genesis 1:31 after he created the garden "and God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good" was it very good for Satan to be in the garden to temp eve? Satan fell after the creation. The bible doesn't say eve was tempted on Day 6 instantly.
@@dankins You are exactly right. Facts are stubborn things aren't they? A nice video with lots of info and illustrations, however, a simple factual statement destroys the whole concept. No basis for gap if no pre-Eden fall of Lucifer. I am a Mid-Acts dispensationalist btw.
@@brandonquintana7683 you want you faith shaken? How about the 35 TOP SECRET Alien species that are interacting with earth? Species that abduct people and perform sexual acts with them. UFO's are witnessed on this Earth. Dr. David Jacob's you should check out. The common theme with abductions is flesh experiments. Gray aliens do the abducting. The "praying mantis" types control the grays. The praying mantis type are controlled by 5th dimensional bodyless beings that have been dubbed demons. Nachmanides, a Jewish rabbi discovered that there are 10 dimensions. Thats infinite universes, with infinite possibilities, from infinity, to infinity. God dwells in the 10th dimension with his Arch Angels. Lucifer was cast down, the Cherib that covers the throne of God. We don't know how many quintillions of years this universe has existed. @@brandonquintana7683 I agree with that. But how long have they been fallen, and they do have ships. That's a fact. Like I said, look up Dr. David Jacob's. Connect the dots. It makes Gap theory make more sense.
I believe in gap theory because it makes sense, but like you said , we shouldn't argue or debates on this subject otherwise God will told the author's of the Bible to write down clearly but because it's not so important for a human being to know he might have kept it blurred 🤗
Hi Tom. I've been going through some of Robert Breaker's videos for a little while now. Can you share some where he presents different theories and not just the one he embraces? So far I've only seen ones where he presents the ones he embraces and refutes the ones he disagrees with.
First let me say, I really enjoyed this teaching and your presentation. Thank you for what you do! A few questions: (1) If your interpretation of Gen. 1:1-2 is "A Gap Theory" that represents (you specifically stating) thousands of years (as opposed to simply "a period of time" or "millions or years" or any number of years), why even insinuate thousands of years? What basis do you have for thousands vs. hundred, or millions or billions for that matter? (2) Can you expand on your emphatic point that Theistic Evolution doesn't work? Why not? (3) This can be a subset question of #2 - Do you believe that Gen. 1:26 (re: the creation of man) and Gen. 2:7 are speaking of the same creative event or something distinctly different?
And this is my number 1 issue with a gap theory. If a 10 year gap than why not a million. If earth had been bobbing around like a cork under water than how many previous worlds were there? Why are we the only time God conducted the human experiment? Why did God make a world for fallen angels, and then destroy it because they were wicked? And on and on the questions go.... Why make up stories to try and explain things that God didn't decide to let us know about. Fun Christian psyfi, but it should stay under that category.
@@JamesThomas-dn6hz I believe they are trying to explain the worlds viewpoint rather than biblical cosmology. There's so many problems with the gap theory. Which if you really get into your research will prove God made a flat enclosed system not a heliocentric ball that moved around the sun. "Let God be true and every man a liar." This doctrine teaches sin/ death before Adam...Romans says sin/ death entered through one man Adam. It changes the gospel. Also, why would God have to destroy ( in this supposed "first flood before Adam") and recreate everything including the sun, moon and stars? He didn't recreate after Noah's flood. Lots, for believers to think and pray about. I'm sticking to the Word of God!
"The gap theory is disallowed by Hebrew grammar because verse 2 uses a “vav disjunctive. When “vav” is followed by a verb. ... This grammatical construction is called a “vav consecutive.” Genesis 1:3 through the end of the chapter are all vav consecutives. They all have “and” followed by a verb in the original Hebrew Word order: “And said God… And saw God… And called God…” indicating they are reporting historical events chronologically. However, Genesis 1:2 uses a Hebrew grammatical construction called a “vav disjunctive” which is the Hebrew “and” followed by a non-verb, such as “the earth.” This construction indicates that what follows is a comment or explanation of what came before it. It is similar to how we use parenthesis in English. Thus, Genesis 1:2 is a comment on Genesis 1:1. This vav disjunctive disallows any gap of time between verse 1 and 2 because verse 2 does not follow in time. On the contrary, verse 2 is explaining and clarifying verse 1. It describes the conditions that existed when God first created the heaven and the Earth - namely, when God first created heaven and earth, the earth was formless and empty and dark. Why was the Earth formless and empty and dark? Was it because of some disaster? No, it was because God had not yet formed it and filled it, and had not yet created light. Genesis 1:2 clarifies the conditions that existed on Earth when God first created it. There is good reason for such clarification. A person reading Genesis 1:1 for the first time might erroneously assume that God created the heaven and earth just as they are today - an earth with continents and rolling hills and full of life and light. Genesis 1:2 exists to clarify that this was not the case. When God first created the Earth, it was dark, and without form, and empty; that is the meaning of verse 2. The Earth was not dark, formless, and empty because of some disaster. Rather, it is because God had not yet created light, and had not yet formed the earth (given it continents separated from oceans), and had not yet filled the earth with plants and animals. The rest of Genesis then explains how the Earth became illuminated with light, shaped into continents and oceans, and filled with plants and animals, over the course of six days from its initial state of dark, formless and empty." biblicalscienceinstitute.com/uncategorized/the-gap-theory/
just a few thoughts to throw into the pot... Rom 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. DEATH REIGNED FROM ADAM - Not satan. Gen 3 shows us that the earth was cursed because of Adam's transgression. and Paul tells us that in Romans 5. Sin entered the habitable world through Adamm and death by sin; death upon all living things; decay. There is no clear comment in Scripture about two worldwide floods. Only one. AND one coming judgment of FIRE. Peter speaks about the world and the earth in 2 Peter 3: 5, 6. In v5 he speaks of the earth - 'ge', and in v6 he uses kosmos for world. The earth is the physical plane we live on. The kosmos could mean the decoration on the earth, or its inhabitants (or both) I believe Genesis 1:1 may be a statement of all things created in summary.; perhaps like a chapter heading. If God created a beautiful fully ordered earth and heavens which was destroyed by some supposed flood, why didn't God do exactly the same thing again, just make a perfect home again - instantly? Each of the creation days sees a new thing happen, new things appear. The house is being prepared bit by bit, just like any master builder would do. On the second day there were no birds, no land animals, no inhabitant, not even the sun, moon and stars. NO grass. Pretty bleak eh. Why? God created things perfectly each thing in its day. There is no solid Scriptural reason to suppose that Genesis 1:2 was not part of His perfect work...a first stage in the unfolding of the beginning point. This earth is set for a throwing away just like an old garment. Let us keep our eyes on Jesus - the one who sustains all things by the word of His power.
Ian McDonald So many things I could say. I will say this: Gen1:1 heaven singular. 2:1 heavens plural. Originally only one heaven. There was separations made before Adam was created. Why? Sin. Think about that. Pray about that for 6 months.
No worries Jerry. just like to add the following to the discussion. The LITV in Genesis 1:1 and 2:1 is in the plural form, which the Hebrew word allows for. The KJV shows a plural 'heavens' in the following: Psalm 19:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Psalms 57:11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth. Psalms 89:11 The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them. Psalms 96:5 For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens. Psalms 102:25 Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands. Psalms 136:5 To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever. also in Proverbs 3:19 The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens. Proverbs 8:27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: God tells us who the earth was given to: Psalm 115:16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD'S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men. The Bible never tells us that the earth was given to Lucifer or any angelic being. But it does tell us that the earth was given to the sons of men. Bluesky writes below "That word was in vs 2 is Strong's 1961 it means to become.". 1961 also allows for exist or to be, or to continue. In the Scripture ther is no mention of two creations concerning this temporal sphere. Not even with the Flood were the heavens destroyed as if they cesased to exist and needed to be 'recreated'. Just one point about separations. It is true that God at the beginning established separation between various things. And every one of those distinctions are meant to point to the spiritual distinctions or separations that are unchangeable. But those separations do not of themselves prove an earlier creation on earth prior to what we read from Genesis 1:2 onwards. Anyway Jerry, The Lord knows what He has done and that is really what matters. As Moses said, the secret things belong to God and the things revealed belong to us that we may do them. see Deut 29:29. For my part, I do not see any real proof in Scripture for 'any gap theory' between our first and second verse of Genesis 1.
Ian McDonald This is my theory with little scriptural support. I believe the earth and heavens were already created. Lucifer was over all of it, until he was found with iniquity. Now the light barer was the source of light, no sun on the first earth. There were humans on it, but when Lucifer tried to overthrow Yahweh, he was kicked out. Yahweh destroyed the first earth and that is where He through satan. Then after a while, He decided to start over, but this time man would govern himself with the guidance of Yahweh. Now all the people from the first earth could not legally be charged because Lucifer was given the position. So He placed our souls inside the womb. Scripture says that He knew us before we were in our mothers womb. Déjà vu
Well, no death before Adam...that totally makes sense because angels are immortal. I don't subscribe to any idea that there were humans before Adam. If there was a Gap I also don't believe animals were there either... no need for animals with angels. Gap poses an interesting idea but that is all it really is.... an interesting idea.
Please speak on Flat Earth. I know this sounds crazy, but seriously there are so many verses that support it, and a lot of proof for it. If the bible says it, I believe it!
A,gap theory would be a before Adam theory. The gap theory is not biblical the are finding dinosaurs buried with humans dinosaurs with flesh still on them. If creation was millions of years for each day on the 7th day God rested so on day 8 Adam would be millions of years old ?
Breanna K - I researched the verses "supporting" this theory. I went back to the original language the bible was written in and used a Strong's Exhaustive Concordance to make sure I understood the TRUE meaning of the words used. You might want to try it instead of "literally" accepting the English words used.
Great teaching, Bro Breaker but for me (with the exception of: Earth), I don't find: planets, solar system, galaxies, etc in: Genesis 1:1-18. You made mention of Mars a few times. I'm not sure why.
Thank you for this. I am returning to Bible study after a long break. I've been watching Les Feldick and decided to start from his first couple of 30 min bible study classes where he introduced the gap theory. I'd never heard it called that when I was studying before so I came across your video for further explanation. I'm so glad I did. I also found we have the same birthday so I take to mean something. Thank you for your videos.
When we look at the word "was" in Genesis 2:2, there are different meanings for this word in Hebrew. This word, "was" can be used to mean "to be" or "become" or "come to pass" or "exist" or "happen" or "fall out." If you want to support the Gap Theory, you will say that the word "was" means "to become" or "come to pass." If you don't believe the Gap Theory, then you will say that the word "was" means "to be" or "exist." How can the word seemingly support both ideas?
I grew up with a Scofield Reference Bible and believing in the/a gap theory. More recently, I've been leaning toward the Young Earth theory. I also heard Hugh Ross' "long ages" theory of progressive creation. I must say that none of them SEEMS to be without problems. Young Earth has to grapple with a universe/earth that appears to be older than ~6,000 years. The other two have to grapple with death before Adam's sin. I wouldn't automatically associate a long gap with theistic evolution, although as I grew up, the length of the gap never occurred to me, except that it must be long enough to account for dinosaur fossils, starlight that would have taken billions of years to reach us, and the creation of diamonds, coal, oil, etc. Thanks for a challenging Bible study.
+C.S.I.D ZN Perhaps we've just been brainwashed into accepting an old universe due to the apparent distance of stars and a supposedly constant speed of light, but there sure seems to be a lot of cosmology/cosmogony to cram into ~ 6,000 years. Also, I had never considered that the naming of the animals and the creation of Eve were part of the sixth day. I assumed that God did that "at His leisure", in anthropomorphic terms, some time later, perhaps beginning in the eighth day. It depends on how you line up Genesis chapter one with two. Regardless, the heavens do declare the glory of God, especially distant galaxies which we'll never be able to explore, at least in this age.
I agree with you sort of but, how does death before Adams sin work? as the bible speaks of Dinosaurs after and in fact so do many other writing and don't forget pictures. if you think about it before the flood of Noah animal could have grown bigger because the might have been even more oxygen in the pre flood earth and so big snakes, bugs, spiders and lizard could have existed before hand and then after the Oxygen was lowered.
thinking about it Eve could have been created after month think about it Adam was put into a deep sleep now which would have been about 2am because of science we established that Deep sleep hits its climate about 2am and so if God rest on day 7 Eve could be created a two but then if you are going by a Jewish perspective the day didn't end and start again until 6 am but again is that just a working day or would it be considered like we consider 12am here in the world today? and the naming was probably as Adam discovered them. also when you think about it Adam was the first laser surgery receiver as it says in the Bible God is light so he would have used his finger to slice open Adam. also Did Adam have blood or did he receive it when he ate from the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and how many kids did Adam have in the garden and after the first couple of generations how many people would there be and is this universe only separated from heaven by time? all amazing Question in my mind.
Mr Breaker, I have a Question, on E Sourd in Genesis 1:1 where is says the the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Why would it say in the Strong's that water in that passage is semon. Seriously, It's there! I have an idea why it's there but I would like to what you think. I love your video's. Thank you.
Take a good, long look, and be careful to read it all. It is showing you the hebrew word. Hebrew words have many meanings. That word LITERALLY is water. But, it can be used FIGURATIVELY as urine or semen. So, please make sure to read the entire thing.
God, Hid secrets all through the Bible, He loves us to seek them out & if we make mistakes He by grace allows us to keep seeking, He is The One True Living God, Who Loves us, As we should Love Him!.
Let's turn it around and say what really happens more often: "I can't have fellowship with you because you don't believe in the gap theory". You can tell what Mr. Breaker believes right away because he makes the other side sound unreasonably stubborn...but not his side. But there is certainly a large gap in his reasoning.
Only someone who loves to study the Bible and God's word will understand and find it interesting to figure things out. I for one find it intriguing and have questions about this "theory". Are you saying that there were two floods? The fact that God told Noah and his sons, "Be fruitful andmultiply and "REplenish" the earth seems to indicate this theory to be true, since He used the same word here. Could it be that the creation of things were 6 thousand years? It would seem to fit the gap theory (thousands of years). It is fun to speculate and study God's word! Thanks, Robert for sharing!
Gergle Ravera 2 Peter 3:8 King James Version (KJV) 8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Great lesson!!!! I've heard this called, not Re-Creation but Restoration. " 1 In the beginning God "Created" the heaven and the Earth...… 2 And the Earth (the SAME earth) was without...…. So my understanding is, He (God) Created the Earth for his first creation, the Angels. Lucifer rebels against God with 1/3 of the angels and they trash the Earth. God then shuts it down ( with water) as he does later with Noah. One can call this , the Second Flood. God Creates Earth, God Shuts Down Earth, God Restores Earth. Same Original Creation, restored. Thank you Rev. Baker, you do great work and I very much enjoy and gain from it!!!
Here's a beautiful thought: Paul was a tent maker. Satan was the cherub who covereth. Ezekiel describes the 4 cherubs who are the wheels at the base of God's throne. Satan fell. Didn't Paul create a new tent to covereth? The one new man? Will we not replace the cherub who covereth? Think about it: 4 gospels (man, lion, ox, eagle) + Paul's gospel (one new man/who covereth).
If you read Genesis 1 and 2 correctly and not automatically thinking its referring to Adam and eve, you will begin to see something is off. Remember it's 10 times harder to un-learn something than to learn it.
Minister Breaker, i think it would benefit this study if you showed pictures of all those ancient megaliths (gigantic stone structures) all around the world. we only need to see off the Bermuda coast to see these huge block structures under the sea, and also off the coast of Japan. And also Atlantis and countless other ancient structures... Were all these the ruins of the FIRST world where Lucifer ruled till he rebelled against The Lord and as a result, God destroyed all that early civilization, so yeah this "Gap theory" makes perfect sense. Good video Brother!
Praise the Lord Brother for your start to this teaching! I completely disagree with you on the theory and can show you evidence against every point, but that's not the point. The point is you may be right, or I may be right, or we both may be wrong.....what matters is that we preach the atoning Blood of Jesus and the belief in that finished work. This is a fun Bible study and causes thought provoking conversation and can cause people to search the scriptures, which is awesome! This should never be preached as doctrine and I love that you laid that out clearly at the beginning. God bless and keep up the good work!
How is it then that the Bible says the foundations of the earth cannot be moved? Also have you ever tried to Flood a ball or use one as a footstool when it's spinning at thousands of miles per hour? One other thing to consider. The Ball Earth theory is brought to you by the same people who brought you Evolution! Why does God say the 4 corners of the earth, if the earth is a ball? A ball doesn't have corners. Also the Firmament is where the sun, moon and stars reside. If stars are actually millions of light years away. How then will God throw 1/3rd of them down to the Earth if they are all so much larger than our planet? There is more than enough evidence in scripture to do a bible study on it. It will not change your salvation but like the Gap theory it is an interesting topic.
Perhaps you ought to study Bible interpretation and hermeneutics. The Scripture is full of many figures of speech and metaphors, which you just mentioned! Was Christ a door? A Vine??? Does actual rivers of water flow out of my belly? Were the Jews of Jeremiah's day actually cows-Jer. 4? Was Christ a piece of bread? Are we all actually one body? Are we all one bread-1Cor 10??? Surely you understand these and HUNDREDS MORE in Scripture are figures of speech? The 4 corners? What about the 4 winds? Surely you heard of GRAVITY, which answers your questions? And, it is possible that earth is at the center of the universe and that the earth is not moving, but everything revolves around the earth. I have read scientific writings by CREDENTIALED SCIENTISTS putting forward Geocentrism against Heliocentrism. I don't listen to RU-vid nonsense posted by scientifically untrained people pretending to KNOW the earth is flat!!! I do watch flat-earth videos though, for entertainment and laughs. They do make me laugh.
You have clearly made up your mind. Enjoy your ball earth and evolution. I will wait and hopefully see a bible study done by Pastor Breaker on the Flat Earth. Credentialed scientists, funny, they have those for Evolution also.
Condition 1 ook, you wouldn't let Bubba operate on your brain! You wouldn't let Jamal work on your car unless you KNEW these people were trained properly and knew what they were doing. IN THE SAME WAY the people making these flat-earth videos are not scientifically trained and it is OBVIOUS. You can't possibly be serious about this! These people are making these videos and laughing while they do it.
Of the 3 Gap models you describe, I fall in the the second. However, I also reject theistic evolution. All believers that I know that lean the same direction also are not theistic evolutionists. I'm wondering how you came to the conclusion that those who ascribe to the millions of years Gap Theory tend to be theistic evolutionists?
Me too history and fact shows that dinosaurs lived millions of years ago there are fossils and such so this earth could be billions of years old only God knows when He created this earth and when Satan fell and how long ago He doesn't tell us these things. I do believe that man has been on earth for only 6 thousand years with the 7th thousand year being the 1000th year millennium reign. I have NEVER believed in the theory of evolution no Christian would we know God created everything. I know many Christians who believe the earth is millions of years old or older but NOT believe in evolution I don't know where Mr. Breaker got that non-sence from
Grounded in the Word , Jesus Christ is my foundation not , Peter Ruckman and his opinions ? ? Always remember who is the author of confusion ?? And makes you doubt ? ? I think / my option is Robert breaker needs a part time job instead of too much time twisting the scriptures ?? Peace / love
There is no "planet" Mars... Have you ever looked at Mars through a telescope? It is clearly not a terra surface. There is plenty of biblical evidence for my stance on this, however in an effort to avoid haters and delving deeper into this topic, I will stop here and just say, study more.
Leah daVinci I’m not a hater and totally agree with you. And the moon is not a terra firma, a rock, that sheds light on the earth by its reflection from the sun. It is a light, just as God said.
Watchman Studios I love Mr. Breaker’s teachings too. They always bless and edify. And he always uses Scripture to back up what he teaches. He’s a godly man and one of very few out there on the internet, who I trust with right doctrine. I’ve recently come to believe the flat earth, dome firmament myself. And it fits Scripture (and common sense) perfectly. Perhaps Mr. Breaker will consider looking into that subject one day, if we aren’t raptured first! But either way, Maranatha and God bless!
I would like to respectfully point out why I would disagree with this (or these) theory... "1 In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light." I agree with when you said we will not know for sure until we are face to face with God himself BUT my personal opinion is that we are living in the first earth still, considering Revelation 21:1 "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea." And regarding the earth being "without form and void" I believe it is due to the fact that it was entirely water....and water technically has no form....and since there was no creation, no life, no light, it was still void. In conclusion, I would have to respectfully disagree with this Gap theory you have described....
I'm not sure that you have to believe in evolution to feel their could have been millions of years during the "gap". That said I would be more apt to believe in the shorter time span. But like you say Mr Breaker we won't know until we are with the Lord. God Bless!
HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A HOUSE BEING BUILT ???? IT STARTS OUT AS A FRAME AND IT IS WITHOUT FORM AND VOID ..FORM MEANING IT IS NOT FINISHED YET AND VOID MEANING NOTHING INHABITING IT OR LIVEING ON IT !!!!! THERE IS NO GAP !!!
Verse 2 describes a judgment, as the Hebrew words used prove. In Isaiah 45:18 we are told that God DID NOT make the world without form and void, yet here it is in Gen. 1:2 made exactly that way if you are correct. This is a judgment upon Lucifer who surely did sin before Adam!
Candace Bates I don't believe in the gap theory. There is no place in Genesis 1 that allows for a gap theory. Those who say the King James translators got it wrong are sinning in their arrogance. The translators, which numbered about 52 highly educated scholars who knew Greek, Hebrew and between them every language known to man, were selected for their knowledge and expertise. So, someone to claim superior intelligence is very arrogant and a braggart. Also, God promised His preservation of His Word to all generations, which means all families, nationalities and peoples. He certainly could ensure the accuracy of the translation from Greek to Hebrew for us that don't know those languages. He wants us to be able to search the scripture to determine those things are so, but if only a scribe or Pharisee can understand it, what good is that scripture to us? Having said that lengthy intro, my main point is to reiterate your analogy of building a house: say, I decide to build a house. I gather my plans, make sure I have the necessary funds, then I hire a home builder to make my dream home a reality. The builder assures me he will start the process Monday morning. I do not get out to the building site for over a week. When I get there, I see nothing has happened. It does not look as if the builder even showed up. Disgusted and disheartened, I go back to my office. You knew I had gone to the site and inquire on the progress. I say, "The site has not even been formed and is void of any activity or materials." Do you believe the builder built the house and a tornado came along and blew it down? Of course not, my words do not convey that because if there was something there before there would still be something there, so the word void would be incorrect. There would be evidence that something had been formed though it is now in disarray. The gap theorists say God created everything but then it was destroyed. Well, what happened to the evidence? Why doesn't Genesis 1 say that? They want to plug evolution into the gap, say the fossil records prove it. Fossil records never "proved" anything except that something lived and then died. At some time in the past a catastrophe happened and destroyed all living things at one time. This could have been caused by a global flood. Dating methods would fail because of the enormous pressure from that much water.
Brother Breaker: There's no sin in heaven yet Satan sinned in heaven??? & was cast out of heaven from God. How did/could this have happened? Always wondered this. Ty.
@@rokitman5753 Time had a beginning. Eternity has no beginning or ending. The Beginning spoken of in Genesis 1:1 is the beginning of time, space and matter. Time concerns the material universe, which can only be understood by the three elements. Each one of them is a creative act of God. I do not hold to the Gap theory as it is explained in this video, or any Gap theory between verse 1 and 2 of Genesis 1. It is a theory which cannot be absolutely proved. It is an interpretation of Scripture that many hold to. Jesus never spoke about any such pre Adamic habitation of earth. The apostles of Christ never spoke about any inhabitants of earth prior to Adam.
If you could explain to you dog his beginning, would you talk about how he came from the wolf? Or would you explain to him the mysterious of the universe that even we can't understand. Ancient Hebrew words are not the same as modern English. Do your research on Hebrew, and you will see why many scholars have came to this same conclusion. I watched many videos on Gap Theory. This is the shortest and least thorough. Even though I think Robert Breaker is great.
@@sergeantt8527 Firstly, I don't have a dog. second, if i did, I would not explain to my dog anything. thirdly and more importantly, our beginning and the beginning of all creatures on earth is recorded in Scripture - the Holy Bible. Whether we believe it or not. The dog knows his Creator, as does the lightning and the snow, as do the trees and all living things - even man knows his Creator, but man in his pomp and pride refeuses to admit what he knows in his conscience , if he would listen to it. I wasn't there but Good was. The six days of cretion are literal 24 hour days and the Torah testifies to this as does Jesus Himself, and Peter. The origin of the gapt theory is discussed in - gaptheory.net/history-of-the-gap-theory/, and other places. Hang on to the Gap Theory if you wish; that's your choice and you can make it. But not this chicken - been around for a few decades. Death and destruction for the material earth came as a result of Adam's transgression. I'm sticking to that. Trust in Jesus Christ oour Creator and Sustainer, our Redeemer and soon coming King. In Him we move and have our being.
@@ianmcdonald8648 I do trust in Jesus. But in Isaiah, Lucifer is cast out. Lucifer is also the king of the Earth. That's Biblical. There already was sin before Adam. The Serpent didn't sin the same hour Adam did. Also, God told Adam not to eat from the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil, or he would surely die. Adam obviously understood what death was, but sinned anyway. There are such things as Bible mysteries. But I don't limit the greatness of the Lord. If he is an eternal being, I don't think that this Earth is his only creation. I do think we are the only creation made in his image. But aliens exist brother. That's a fact. It goes into who did Cain marry? You chose to fill in the blanks saying that there were many many sons and daughters and cousins. But that isn't in scripture. You go over the story of creation, and make it seem as if the Sun and Moon were initially created. However, the ZULU tribe of Africa has writings of when the moon was brought here. When Apollo 11 landed on the moon, they said it "rung" like a bell. We can fast forward to Revelations, and read that 1/3 of the Sun will be destroyed, 1/3 or the moon will be destroyed. And there will be a New Heaven, and a new Earth when Jesus comes back. The Lord is very capable of creating and destroying his creations as he sees fit. Dissecting scripture is fun. I believe that the grace of God is what saves. But its still interesting. It doesn't take away from the meaning of the Gospel. And he will reveal to us what he desires.
The translation that says the earth “became” formless and void is interesting and would definitely would add a layer to the discussion. Got to show this as true before any discussion of gap should be attempted
Yes, it is interesting but I believe God is the Creator of all (which is most important, along with being saved) and whether there's a gap or not and those who say the Earth's flat or round doesn't have any bearing at all with our Salvation.
