Good morning Dilly and thank you for your kind comments. Looking at the leaves on the ground now does remind me it's Autumn but it's lovely that we still have some colour to cheer us up too. I guess, remembering what you have in your lovely garden that you still have colour and that you'll soon have plenty to do. 'Secateurs here I come.' Cheers! P.

It doesn't look like autumn's chilly fingers have started unravelling your hard work in the garden yet Peter. You still have a lot of healthy growth and colour. But we will all be pruning , cutting back and uprooting the old and planting the new soon. Let's enjoy what we have now while we plan for next year, and let's hope for some mild, dry weather! Yes, it is a good idea to have videos of our current planting to refer to as we plan ahead. I look at pictures of our garden 5 years ago and it is unrecognisable in parts, so it's nice to see the progress too.

Thanks for the reply Nik. As you say, we'll all be busy doing Autumnal jobs very soon. When I look at some of my old videos I'm surprised how some things have grown so much. I can't remember if I've looked at your earliest videos or not. I shall have a look. Have you had any deep and meaningful conversations over the fence recently? 'Where are you going for Christmas?' Are you male or female? Oh, well I thought you looked female.' (Ambiguous) Watch this space. Hopefully we've got some nice weather for a while yet. Cheers! 1

Colour colour and lots more colours even on this wet and miserable October. Your garden again looking immaculate even in autumn. My two blush noisette I bought earlier this year has been slow to establish. I’m hoping they’d be like yours one day.

Good morning Ken and thanks for your kind reply on a dull day here in Kent. I can't remember how long it took for my Blush Noisettes to get going but I hope yours continues to grow and thrive. I have two and the one that sees more sun seems to show it's appreciation. I can see you've put a video up so I'll now take a look. Cheers! P.

So nice to see your beautiful garden again Peter. I've not heard of Nicandra physalodes but it's a lovely plant with a pretty flower. I see that you've still got some roses in flower which is great. We need all the colour that we can get now that our gardens are winding down. Yours has a lot more than mine although I'm pleased that my Cosmos have really taken off after their slow start. We've had some super weather in Cheshire but the grass is like a paddy field again. So annoying as I still like to get outside and do as much as I can. I've manged to get quite a lot of spring bulbs planted in pots as I can do those on the patio. Just got the tulips to do at a later date. Take care.

Hi Wendy and I'm glad you enjoyed the walk around our garden - in Kent. Yes, a few roses and a few of other things too. My Cosmos I didn't plant until late so they've not been flowering for long. Looks like there might be some nice weather on the horizon so hopefully they'll be around for a while yet. Again, the Nicandra was a late plant that I just found growing in the garden somewhere. I've grown them in the past but not recently. Planted at the right time they can get much bigger. I shall hopefully keep some seed.' I've put some bulbs into some pots too - small daffs and small narcissi. I hope the weather picks up for you too so you can get back outside and lose yourself in the garden/gardening. Cheers! P.

Hi Peter, lots of colour ! haha Always lots of colour in your beautiful garden. Looking fabulous. Re. your tomatoes have you tried popping them in a paper bag? If you try it on a sunny window sill for a week or two they should ripen, that's what I've done in the past, I think it traps the ethylene inside the bag and that's the gas that ripens toms so I think that's how it works but don't quote me, if you have a ripe one pop that in with them and it helps to speed it up ;) I've potted up my pelargoniums now. It was getting a bit cold for them up here, their poor little leaves were turning dark red with the cold weather but they are all doing well in the greenhouse now and some of them are so happy in there they are flowering again ! I'm changing window boxes and planters over to winter bedding. It's that time again, putting Summer away. I've still got dahlias out. I've been dragging the pots in to the potting shed for the odd night frost was forecast so I've dodged it so far and Lewie's dahlia poor thing gets a builders bag over it's head haha. Your Blush Noisette looks wonderful, mine is absolutely crammed with blooms and buds, it really is an amazing flowerer and I only planted it at the end of '22. Such a good do-er. Thanks for the lovely look around, we have good weather forecast so hopefully you'll have the chance to get into the garden and enjoy it, take care.

Good morning LInda and thanks for your interesting reply. I think I'd better put my rose coloured glasses on today as it's pretty dull out there. Re. the tomatoes. Thanks for the suggestion on how to get them to ripen. The hardest part will be finding a paper bag but I'll certainly give it a try as the tomatoes are still in good condition. My Pelagoniums don't get the love and attention that yours obviously do. I just take them out of their pots, shake the soil off their roots, let them dry out and just leave them somewhere out of the frost over winter, In the Spring I trim the roots back, cut them back and pot them up and most come back to life again. I guess they'll prove me wrong this year. My dahlias I dig up once the tops have died back, wash off and again store out of the frost. I like your idea of the builders bag over the Dahlia in Lewie's bed. I guess that does the job really well. I've just got some fleece I chuck over mine. I hope your window boxes look good after you've planted them up. It's lovely to keep some colour in the garden if we can. I shall be interested to see how everything in your garden does as and when you do another video. Until then continue to love your garden. I guess, know, you've got plenty to keep you occupied. Cheers! P.

@@peterhaymaker7562 Hi Peter, it's not been bad here we saw a bit of sun today but started drizzling about an hour ago. Thu is looking good, tomorrow not so much I think it's a wet day tomorrow ! The paper bags from the supermarket, like the brown paper bread bags from the bakery dept. or the paper fruit/veg bags are good to recycle for ripening your toms if you can pick some of those up when you shop? I just checked my bag on the kitchen window sill. 3 large beefsteak toms had got knocked off, still green, last week when I was in there re-arranging stuff and they are all ripe now so it should work for you too, fingers crossed 🤞🍅
