I agree, I was not mad at this loss because I lost my excitement when AOC was not named the starter and last week was only one quarter of good play and when Panthers named Andy the starter I had a bad feeling this was going to happen.

This game was 100% on the coaching. AP didn't have them ready. Getsy and Cregg need to get together and figure out the running game because the O-line blocking scheme and the RB1 are not compatible. How the hell are we going to pass the ball when we barely break 50 yards on the ground an game? They were dropping everyone back. There was nothing there for Gardner to throw to.

@onenation559 I knew it was coming too we've seen this movie too many times before true story: I was on my way to the sports bar to watch the game live yesterday while listening to the live stream has the Panthers were marching down the field on the opening drive and as soon as they scored the touchdown I turned around and headed home because I knew exactly what was coming I'm a Raiders fan for life also but money is tight right now and I'm not going to pay for food and drinks to watch that slop and be miserable

Man! My son & I have been pounding the table ever since last season to start Aiden!!! We were both disappointed when Minshew got the start. The things you crucified Aiden for in PRE SEASON, Minshew is doing in games that count! Aiden with under a quarter took us downfield & into the end zone!!! We said the LACK OF FAITH IN AOC was going to cost us DEARLY!!! We're in a minority but we still believe in AOC.

@@travisspaulding2222I don’t know if AOC would have made that much of a difference this game, because the team as a whole was bad. However my biggest issue is with Getsy. People are constantly talking about how we have no run game, and it is his fault. He came to a team with the personnel to use the power run scheme, and he decided that we are going to use a zone run scheme. We don’t have the O-Line to or the RB’s for a zone scheme and it baffles me that an OC thinks it will work no matter what, so much so that the entire 1st qtr was run, run, pass, punt. The play calling in this game especially was suspect.

@@donutsduncan7023 That has been my point. There is a complete mismatch with having Zamir as RB1 and our blocking scheme. He seems like JMD in the sense that he is trying to force a square peg into a round hole. AP needs to have a come to jesus talk with him, and let him know this stops today, whether he stops it, or we put someone else in there to stop it. I'm sick of coaches trying to bend players to their will. The Panthers were able to simultaneously stop our run game while dropping everyone back into coverage. Most QBs couldn't succeed in that situation.

I’m glad people are getting a chance to see that AOC was always our best chance at winning. People say he can’t extend plays… That TD showed other wise 🤷🏾‍♂️ One drive… Immediate TD. 🙌🏾AOC has always been good at converting on 3rd down. Our season will start when we start AOC 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

I still think the roster is actually pretty good, we're one more solid draft and FA period away from having a good team without a starting QB. That was so frustrating because now teams will have film with Dalton starting and the Panthers will go right back down the tubes. I called this game from a mile away but I hoped I would be wrong. It was like opening week in the NFL, it's always hard to game plan for teams when you have no idea what they're going to do.

This is all because of Antonio, Pierce and his BS decision to start Gardner Minshew over Aidan O’Connell I WILL EXPLAIN !!! When Antonio Pierce came in last year, he immediately put in Aiden O’Connell as QB From that point on the raiders started building chemistry as a team And they started winning with Aidan O’Connell He wasn’t always great last year, but they were building a team last year Players said that they trusted and would run through a brick wall for a Antonio Pierce This year Antonio a Pierce literally said in a press conference that Aidan O’Connell was his guy and that he had the right to be the starter unless he did something drastic to lose the starting job When he flip-flopped on Aiden, O’Connell for Gardner Minshew, I think he lost the locker room right then, and there before the season had even started As a head coach , players depend on you, they have to believe in your system, and more importantly, they have to believe in you, and in your word as a head coach When he flip-flopped on the QB situation, he told the entire locker room that he was nothing more than a wishy-washy, say anything coach !!! Put Aidan O’Connell back in as starter Get the locker room back !! And keep building on what you were building on last year !!!!

It's not like a lot of us older fans didn't warn you guys. what we got from Minshew is what we're going to get all year, the good and the bad. The most effective way to run an offense is still the forward pass and AOC gives us the best chance to have a professional pro passing offense. He's already shown that he's better at making his reads and will distribute the ball to targets down the field more often. I'd rather that then watch the QB hold the ball for so long. I'm not saying AOC is even the future because i don't know, but I think we've a better chance of having a normal pro offense with him under center.

I don’t know what game you watched but Minshew is not the problem. Aiden was running for his life the entire time he was in there today just like Minshew was. Aiden’s td pass was pure luck. Adams ran the wrong route which led to the INT. Adams had drops. LT is horrible on the oline. Pierce and Getsy both need to go now.

He's smart and has a chance to become a decent backup, but he has a rag arm and would never start in the NFL unless things were truly desperate. AOC is the only QB on the roster with NFL arm talent and it's pretty obvious Minshew also has a rag arm. Minshew is a good guy to have as a backup but there's a reason he's been a backup for most of his career.

I gotta disagree with ya here man. I have zero belief that AOC is better than Gardner.. We had a run game last year and Garoppolo also still looked horrible. You don’t wanna blame Getsy for a bad offense ‘cause you “understand it’s hard when you can run the rock?” Then how the hell is Minshew suppose to run an offense when they call two run plays every drive and gain zero yards… then leave mi shew with 3rd and Long every single drive!!! I watched the Colts game last year and Pittman never dropped any passes and always ran the routes correctly. Raiders need to trade or sit Adams ASAP, First game was costly when Adams ran the route incorrectly. Last week Adams dropped 2 touchdowns

I wouldn't go that far but I didn't understand the move and I still don't. If you are in a rebuild or a semi-rebuild you play the younger QB with more upside and if he's not the guy at least you know you have to draft a QB. He may not be the guy but Minshew isn't the guy either, he's a career backup for a reason.

Because teams don't have to respect the run. Defenses are dropping everyone back because they know Zamir goes down if someone looks at him hard. If anyone needs to lose their starting position, it's Zamir. Or we have to completely revamp our blocking scheme.

Going to break this down for Raider Nation out there. Option A) If they stick with Minshew they need to do these two things. 1. Start Mattison at running back. Don't have Zeus in on 1st and 2nd downs, only use him as a power option on short yardage 2nd and downs or 3rd and downs. 2. Fix the offensive line and keep a zone running attack. Why is this? Because Gardner Minshew cannot win football games without a running attack. Go watch the Colts 2024, look at who he had as running back. Look at the running offense, break down the numbers. Option B) You start AOC sooner rather than later 1. Power run scheme with Zeus, and go faster with AOC as the starter. The kid showed he can command an offense last year and in preseason. 2. Fix the offensive line at the point of attack, our run blocking is awful. AOC won games last year with a very sub-par running game, while JJ was out. AOC can also move the chains by throwing the football and he has a great connection with the WR's. I'm not giving up on Minshew yet but if they don't change the running scheme and personnel for him. He's going to keep losing and the season will slip away by week 8.

I can’t even watch this. I support GARDNER because WE KNOW HIM. My husband and I talked with MIKE LEACH personally. You just have to cut Gardner loose. He’s suffocating under micro-managing Offensive Coordinators. He’s got to be given the reins of the Offense. Getsy has GOT to try this. We’ve witnessed Gardner firsthand. He’s a high IQ qb and can get the Offense into a rhythm. He MUST be given the power to call his own plays if he sees something different, ok? Somebody needs to help that happen along with getting him more protection. When he gets a play call he knows won’t work, can you imagine how frustrating that is? You have nothing to lose at this point people. Just get to the Owner and MAKE it happen ok?😮 😮

AOC got sacked on the 2nd snap, and almost got intercepted twice on that one drive. I don't know what game you were watching, but it wasn't the one I saw.

The roster has gotten better but more successful drafts are needed. Notably the right tackle position from the Leatherwood bust and the pass rush position where Wilson is a bust. The team is just OK this year.

ALso he does not call run plays on 1st and 2nd down on 6 drives to set up 3 and long to have to avoid getting killed as the o line just folds.

The decision to start GM was to satisfy the mania . Now, GM’s supporters witnessed what they wished for. Sure, the media had lots of praises of him, and you know damn well they’re Raider haters. The haters want the shitty qb to keep playing and lead the Raiders to disaster. He’s at his best when there is no pressure on him as a second stringer. That’s what he is a backup. I’d eat my words if he takes us to the playoffs.

Raiders need to get yannick Back and trade for Hassan Riddick. Put Aiden in. Philbin and call hugh Jackson and Gruden to help Getsy with his run game and offensive play calling.

It’s not that Getsy had to run the ball-he runs out of shotgun most of the time. Which is a check play. Get Aiden in and put him UNDER CENTER. The line gets leverage and play action is so much more effective. This Getsy scheme is the worst I’ve seen in some time.

I wanted O'connell to start. We are only stunting his growth As a quarterback, it's no reason why he shouldn't be the starter. He was to starter last year. Give him a chance to see if he's actually gotten better this year we didn't do that We just gave the job away

He just doesn’t get it done. Just sooooooo disappointing. Going for it on fourth was dumb, AGAIN! Put in AOC. Start running by committee.

According to AP a Business Decision means a coach or player didn't get their players to execute the game plan. AP game plan was to run the ball with Zeus. Zeus was not gaining first downs so Getsey tried to pass but Minshew could not get in rhythm with his targets. It's not Getsey faults Panthers had a good rush and had everyone covers and we could not run or pass the football. Dalton had the Panthers playing better than us. Chock it up has learning experience on the job. It's just one game. Getsey has a better chance with Minshew than AOC. AOC is just not mobile and he too slow. AOC does stretch the field so they might start him.

You're the only Raider channel I'm sub'd to. All the other popular channels out there thought Minshew over AOC was correct. Hondo Carpenter actually ATTENDED every practice and said AOC was clearly better in training camp.

I agree with you, but to be fair, AOC got away with one throw that should have been picked. Time to see what AOC can do for a whole game. Minshew is known to be streaky - why would you want a qb that is going to play like garbage part of the time? There’s a reason he’s a perennial back up.

It is the same ol Raiders and I’m tired of it.. 36+ years of disappointments and I’m done… 36+ years I’ve given them my all and hard earned money and for what? Continuing to be the butt of jokes. For the love of god can we please get off this Aidan O Connell thing? We all know that neither AOC nor Minshew is the future. I don’t want this fanbase to get attached to another mediocre at best QB. We haven’t taken a QB in the 1st two rounds since Derek Carr and we haven’t taken one in the 1st round since Russell which is waaaaay to long to not put any serious investments into the QB position. This team will never be serious until they get serious at the QB spot and I don’t think we should be clamoring for more mediocrity

It's not Minshew as much as people think. It's play calling, o-line, coaching, run game, and poor receiver play. Adams looks mediocre. Zamir hits and lineman or defender he sees. He looks like Trent Richardson. They need to fire Getsy. Start Mattison. Trade Adams for a 1st rounder and a player if possible and Pierce needs to wake up and start coaching better. He has had 3 challenges that he could've won so far and it's been 1 every game. He needs to grow a pair.

Who knows if Aidan will be better. But we aren't going to know unless we try. I think Aidan needs more leeway to change the play at the line of scrimmage once he see's the defense, I know he's done some of that last year, he needs to do it more since our play calling is not good.

I was not surprised by our offensive ineptitude week 1, or for 3 quarters of week 2, but our poor run defense was definitely a surprise. If not for 4 good drives to end that game, we're 0-3 right now. Minshew is not the answer, let's just get Aidan in there and see what quicker decision making and better arm talent can do. I'm fine giving up 4 sacks a game if he's getting the ball out and down the field. Minshew has a big deep ball every 2-3 games that keeps people believing, but take away some great catches by Bowers and Adams last week, and we lose that game. His QB rating and comp percentage the first 2 weeks was an illusion because most of his passes were behind the line. He's not the answer, which is not to say Aidan is, but I don't see going forward with much faith in Minshew.

There is no point...dudes a 23-29 losses lifetime qb. We have a huge sample size...he goes from team to team, journeyman style. He's not good enough straight up. His arm is weak.
