Anneke really is joyful when she sings; I saw her with The Gathering a few times many years ago when they played some shows in the United States and got to meet her after the show, and she was still just radiating good energy. Just a lovely person to be around.
Well...I've seen her with the Gathering, solo stuf, Ayreon and the Gentle storm. She was Floor Jansen's inspiration and you can hear why. Simply the best...
Since I saw her opening the Solo show of Floor Jansen 1st of June in Eindhoven I am totally into her singer quality. Never had a chance to see her with the gathering, but she nails it solo too. Did you know that she has been the reason for Floor Jansen to get into Metal? That is why I call her Queen mom now, and I do it with the biggest respect I could even express to a woman!
Sorry about my language but Anneke and the Gathering are just so f^&k*&g good. So so good. Magical. This performance just rolls back the years and has the same energy and grace of the very early performances. Few bands come close.
Hi Andrej and Dominica. About two weeks Anneke and mama Floor are in Amsterdam for a concert. First Anneke and after the break Floor with her solo show. I saw it twice ( only Floor). Next year a concert of Anneke in The Netherlands…I’ll be there☺️
You need to check out her cover of 'The Power of Love' where she performs it while going around Amsterdam on a canal boat. She could sing the phonebook and it would sound good.
It's you peeps, don't get it. She doesn't breathe between verses, but some alternatives ones she devours with oxygen!😂 But when she's singing about blurry winters, she cannot see, I believe her.
thank you very much for reacting to The Gathering, with Anneke on vocals. there are so many other great songs, the list would be too long. maybe a more recent one like Rollercoster, Saturnine, Broken Glass or Shortest Day...😍
@@MerchantOfAlbaBe sure to check out their award winning live dvd 'A Sound Relief', which focusses on their more trip rocky soundscapes, and then also their heavier live show 'A Noise Severe', recorded with their most appreciative audience in Santiago Chile. Both are available on YT. Amazing trips.
@@MerchantOfAlbaTo put as next on your reaction list from this same 25 yr anniversary concert: 'Waking Hour'. Another vocally stellar performance and another different TG sound for you to experience. After that it'd be anything goes with Anneke & TG, & Devin, & Danny, & Arjen, solo, etc. Just one personal tip: 'Endless Sea' performed live, accoustic, at Linea Rock with Arjen. From their amazing duo project 'The Gentle Storm'.
Anneke.....the godmother of the Dutch metal front women. The other day with Floor on tour in Europe. Look for The valley of the queens from Ayreon and also with Floor.
Pink Floyd + Tool + epic doom metal. This may not be "the" signature The Gathering song (if there is even such a thing), but this one is my favourite. Anneke is a goddess, but please give credit to the four-eyed guitarist Rene Rutten who wrote all this amazing music.
