I know a pair of people who went to fca (fellowship of Christian athletes) just to spite them. I remember hearing the club going on because it was at lunch and I was retaking a test in the classroom next to it. Those two are currently part of our schools GSA and FCA, and nobody minds!

in a heartbeat is boring. There's nothing special about it other than the fact that there's gay characters. There should be short films with storylines that are completely unrelated to the fact that the characters are gay, so that instead of making a spectacle of gayness, it can be normalized, and having gay main characters in interesting story's will be normalized.

I don't know what your school is like, but it's possible that you're just not talking to "the right people", and that there are people who'd be interested that you don't know/people you know are who are interested, but you don't know it. I'd recommend asking a staff member how the process to form a club works at your school; it might be easier than you think, and depending on the school, some clubs have people sign up beforehand or they have another way of seeing how many people would be interested, so you would learn if it was a good idea to keep moving forward. As for not having any friends, I can definitely relate, but one great thing clubs are there for is to make new friends, so if this gets off the ground, it could give you and some other kids a chance to get to know each other and maybe hang out more, and maybe make some friends. :D Good luck!

OMG I'M IN TEARS! THIS WAS SO INSPIRING! I'm going to show this to the gay straight alliance at my school to inspire them! We are one of the few clubs who don't show up on the day you meet all your teachers, sign up for clubs, and most importantly meet a few of the others who will be in the club. Our table is always empty. I'm tired of seeing it empty. We need to show that we belong! We are NOT outcasts! We. Are. Human. We sometimes make mistakes. Like everyone who people call "normal"! Well let me tell you this. There is no such thing as "normal"! We are all strange in some way! Let your inner self SHINE THROUGH!

I still do not understand why in 2018/19 these films are still being because Americans cannot deal with homosexuality. But then again why are we surprised, the U.S. has still not accepted black people and the civil rights movement. The white people of the USA forget they are not the true American they are not native. Yet the native population are treated as second class citizens. It's time the white American was taught a lesson and the native Americans given back there land an authority to govern there nation let the white people know they are not in control. Move them by force into reservations. The native American are not like but they have every right to be. These ancient people accepted homosexual in there culture thousands of years ago. This goes to show how culturally backward and inept the white men are. The white right-wing fundamental American fear Islam but culturally they are almost identical in the teaching and beliefs systems. They both fear and hate anything different. They both want total control over there people and the live the people live there no room for difference.

My school has a 'rainbow flag award' for equality and an lgbtq+ club but they are not at all supportive of me- and others- being trans, don't allow us to use the bathrooms we are comfortable in and PE groups are organised by gender where I am listed as a girl (I'm FTM) despite me having countless meetings with them. Hopefully they will become more accepting of trans people in the future :/

My school has a GSA club, a gender neutral bathroom in the front office, and most of the LGBTQ community at our school is open and we rarely get bothered for it. I wore my rainbows throughout the whole school day on the first day of GSA and nobody cared (except the trans teacher aid who wanted to know if there was a special event or something. She ended up coming to GSA, it was great) I wish every school could be like this, and with a little boost from the students and staff, we can make that happen! I will be going to a much larger school next year, and hopefully I can protect my good friends and any other LGBTQ students next year. Love you all!!! Don't let them haters get you down!

I always forget that there's toxic communities that hate on LGBT+ for no reason, and I'm lucky to be living where I am where I don't have to be scared to be me. What a great short film! My high school didn't have a gsa until the year after I graduated (shoutout to my friend for starting the gsa at my former high school, i was so proud of them). I hope the gsa there is still in existence (since my friend who founded it graduated like 3 or 4 years ago), it's important for people to feel like they have a safe place to be themselves at school. Maybe I wouldn't have waited until after graduating to come out to more than just my closest friends if my school had had a gsa or something.

Makes me realize how lucky my school is, i’m not personally LGBT but my school has a GSA, gender neutral bathrooms + pe locker room, and a whole lot of pride flags all over (gay, trans, bi mostly). The teachers are really supportive, some students use slurs but in the end, basically all of them don’t actually care and just use it because it’s such common slang now, plus most students are pretty understanding of it. Kids can go around with pride flags in their bags and no one says anything. Sad it’s not like that for every school, but we’re getting somewhere in some places.

I recently moved to a small city in the panhandle of Florida. Most kids here are military kids since there is no other reason to possibly move here. The amount of gay jokes I here is scary, especially since right now there is less than 500 kids in my middle school. When I go to high school I am afraid it is going to get worse. The jokes are going to turn into assault and I am going to snap one day and finally yell at someone for their "funny joke". Luckily, the high school I am going to has a GSA so I may finally have as safe place to be after the hell ride the rest of this year is going to be. I really just want to shove all of the kids who have made a gay joke back to Orlando where I am from and show them how inappropriate it is to say these things. Sadly that is not possible to do. This has given me fear and also strength knowing that there will be people like me who will accept me.

Ele Arias but God is homophobic and hateful and a shitty person who allows rape and murder to happen. So no, I will never trust in God

@@zoeysophia2638 he isn't in the new bible there is no where in the bible that says gay is wrong. And yet homophobes still say he hates us.

Zoey Sophia I believe that God, is a God of Love. And útil He’s in front of me; and tells me that He hates me. Then I’ll be confirmed of that. But the people who translate the words on the Bible, can be wrong. And we all know that translation is not always on point... Bit you know what?! I love you, like I love everyone else... I go to a conservative private Christian school in the south. One of the rules in the student handbook is that if the school finds out that you or a member of your family is part of the lgbtq+ community, then you can legally be kicked out. None of my parents know that I’m pansexual so I can’t tell them that I want to leave. Even if I did find out a way to convince my parents to let me leave, I still live in a conservative community in the Bible Belt and won’t be able to come out until I leave. That’s why only my sister and my best friend know that I’m pan, that my sister is pan and genderqueer, and that my best friend is pan and trans. It hurts me more than words can express that the people that I’m around every day would hate me if they knew who I really was or who my friend and my sister were because I have to listen to the people around me complain about gay people who have never done anything to them and I can’t say anything about it. The world is sick and twisted. I know that my school would never allow it but I think that clubs like this, that expose straight people to our community and support lgbt people, are one way to make this world less horrific, even in the most minuscule way

Have a story no one asked for... The public school I went to before homeschool, was swarming with LGBT ppl and allies. It was great and I was called my true name and never heard my dead name at school (unless the person didn't know). Now that I'm homeschooled, I am surrounded my homophobic and transphobic family and bow I hear my dead name all the time. I created a group chat on discord an messenger for the LGBTQ+ comm. Called "Queer Crew" there, no deadnames are used, no slurs, no harassment (obviously) and it's amazing :>

We have a Gay club at my school, we have madea few changes to the school system as a community and we are lucky. We have unisex bathrooms, anyone can wear any uniform items (I live in a place where uniform is normal for all high schools) we have an annual in school pride parade (I think we mightve been the first school to hold an in school parade but I'm not sure) and the teachers respect us and use correct pronouns and names if you tell them to.

In my PE class, we played a certain game, and two guys who were just friends hugged each other and a couple of people screamed “GAY!!!” at the top of their lungs and the substitute didn’t do anything about it. We love homophobia in public schools! 🤮
