Metal lens cap that screws in. I painted mine red after almost losing one in a rat hole in a shady forest. Rain poncho in season. Leatherman tool. Map app on cell phone

Leveling base - instead of a leveling base, I replaced the top plate from my magnesium Manfrotto ballhead (with proprietary quick release) by a Sunwayfoto (brand) disc that can rotate for panning (with Arca-compatible quick release so it accepts my L-bracket and I have quick Landscape/Portrait attitude changes). Some ball-heads are out there that have a rotating top plate already. If there's a bubble level in there somewhere, that helps - but many quality cameras have X/Y and Z level indication built in (which is important if you want to retain SOOC proper perspective in terrain that's not flat, and it helps stitching later on).

At 11:00 in the video Mahesh Thapa said that you can crop the image by 50% to go from 105mm to get 200mm and he would get a 30 megapixel image because he has a 60 megapixel sensor. When you crop an image by 50% the area of the image on the sensor would go down by a factor of four, so that if your sensor is 60 megapixel, the image on the sensor would be 15 megapixel, not 30 megapixel.

I dont think so--if u- literally cut a 60MP photo in half, each has 30MP. Using 50% of a image sensor must mean using half the pixels.

@@nsg6225 If for example, you have image that is 6000 pixels in the vertical direction, and 10000 pixels in the horizontal direction, then you will have an image that is 6000 * 10000 = 60,000,000 pixels = 60 megapixels. If you crop the image by 50%, then the vertical dimension will be 6000 / 2 = 3000 pixels, and the the horizontal dimension will be 10000 / 2 = 5000 pixels. 3000 * 5000 = 15,000,000 pixels = 15 megapixels. When you crop an image by 50%, you are cutting the image in half in the vertical direction, and you are cutting the image in half in the horizontal dimension, so you are cutting the number of pixels in half two times, and the number of pixels is 0.5 * 0.5 = 0.25 = 25%.
