yeah there are... you could just google "basalt columns". There are similar formations in Mexico, Iceland, California, Scotland, Japan, Namibia, Australia, Palestine, and more.

Literally never. Hexagonal shapes are all through nature, like part of the fractal of the "system". Now look at devil's tower... but scientists won't ever just say "we don't know" because clearly they don't.

That's the shape of the crystals forming as the lava cooled. Table Salt is a cube, Diamonds are a similar shape.

@@stanpines9011 considering the laccolith theory has never been proven, a competing theory is that MESAS or the giants causeway were prehistoric massive trees that rose 10+miles high with branches that extended out just as far. RU-vid devil’s tower is a tree. You’ll be left slack jawed and will never look at a mountain the same way again

Wowow!! Repeated cooling and contraction caused hexagonal cracks called columnar joints in extruded lava, creating stone pillars 30 to 60 centimeters in diameter.

while I'm not agreeing with this video i believe its trying to draw off of the same type of concept as a snowflakes. where we've all already seen a liquid take a precise symmetrical shape when cooled to a solid. so its not too far fetched in the name of science, they do have precedent in this area. but no i haven't seen rocks, mud, valleys, mountains, underwater-trenches, or volcanoes like this. like the whole weathering process makes since but the formation still seems to unicorn-ish.
