evolution: *gives wings, hollow bones, strong flight muscles, good eyesite, sharp scooping talons* owl: *lives underground* evolution: that's not how this works
@@redtsun67 He was referring to creationism and evolution being 2 opposite things. In creationism, god "gives" the creatures and species their properties. In evolution, the species develop their properties on their own based on the circumstances they live in. Evolution is more like and inner flow of how things are and where they go, there is nothing "given" from outside of it because there is no outside of it. I think, that's roughly what he meant.
I was excited to learn a new owl fact, and then it was just burrowing owls. We have many where I live. This video made me appreciate the ecology at my doorstep.
@@KyrstOak No, I play a game here its called "occupy the comment section" and here it goes: If someone writes a comment you have to trigger more user to reply to your own comment than to the original one but you have to be off topic. I made two easy points here . Actually I play with my brother and he is gay and i love him. We were drunk last night and he pissed himself as i wrote it. Sorry for for using you but it seems to be that i am winning.
>Hey, I have wings that are evolved over hundreds of thousands of years to carry me far distances and help me fly silently throught the night. >i better dig a hole
@Ryle Renoblas >Ubisoft creates faction that is the most heavily armored in game, one hero having the heaviest armor in game, the knowledge of how to make said armor known only to his order. >Better give the hyper armor to the heretic criminals with anger issues and daddy problems, and the forest midgets.
I’ve seen these in the wild!. It’s a bizarre site. I saw clusters of burrows with juveniles and watchful parents. And lots of pictures. A bunch of owls is called a ‘Parliament’ of owls. Quite fitting.
I thought this was common because I grew up near a park that just had them. For decades now. Like the birds just build burrows wherever they feel like it every year. They have a colony. I think park authorities tried to have them removed to another location, since this was a neighborhood park with kids, not a nature park, but found out these were special owls and just had to put caution tape around their burrows.
"You've never seen an owl species that does this" There was a book (and movie) called "Hoot" about some kids saving a borrowing owl nesting site from a greedy developer.
Actually I have seen these owls before, there was one that burrowed in a field right next to the track at my high school in Florida, one time I got too close to its burrow and it freaking charged at me
That's like the most unexpected thing a bird could do, and yet because it's just as bizarre it's makes it perfect for hiding out of harms way. They should turn this into a Pokemon.
You know that Jonny Wurster kid, who that delivers papers in the neighborhood. He's a foreign kid. Some of the neighbors say he smokes crack, but I don't believe it. Anyway, for his tenth birthday, all he wanted was a Burrow Owl. Kept bugging his old man. "Dad, get me a burrow owl. I'll never ask for anything else as long as I live." So the guy breaks down and buys him a burrow owl. Anyway, 10:30, the other night, I go out in my yard, and there's the Wurster kid, looking up in the tree. I say, "What are you looking for?" He says "I'm looking for my burrow owl." I say, "Jumping Jesus on a Pogo Stick. Everybody knows the burrow owl lives. In a hole. In the ground. Why the hell do you think they call it a burrow owl, anyway?!"
Grew up with these little guys. One of em used to play tag with my dog every morning. Sat on the rock wall, waited for the dog to run up and chase him, then would fly back down and chase him, too, taking turns. Never once hurt each other.
I love how he found an old armadillo burrow and make some alterations. Knocked out the kitchen wall, put in a new bathroom, put in under floor heating and changed that god awful wall paper in the hallway.
Ah no wonder they look so familiar. "You've Never Seen an Owl Species That Does This" Unless you were born and raised on an island whose few pride and joys are the Shoco. The Aruban Borrowing Owl. Its a National Symbol over here lol
Here in Ft. Myers FL a law just passed to protect this species. We have them all around, they are tiny and super cute. However theres a lot of bad evil ppl killing them so the laws do protect them as best possible. Sometimes I take a chair near a protrcted area to see them. I love owls!🦉❤
I wish they would do a complete video. It seems like every single time I get hooked watching something like this. The video ends and me saying to myself, why do you keep on clicking on these short animal videos. Lol, nah more like why, why did y'all stop? I want to learn more about this confused little bird.
