This isn't a knock on you or anything. it sounds amazing. It's just surreal seeing a Kronos just as a controller playing a sampled library for Kontakt.
@InTheMixReviews
@InTheMixReviews 4 года назад
Thanks. Well, when you have an 88 weighted keyboard sitting around, you would use that to play a piano library I guess. I wouldn't buy Kronos just to use it as a midi controller though. There are far cheaper options with the same RH3 keybed.

I was reading about it on The Keyboard Corner forum. Man the full version is like 250 gig just for another piano library. I would much rather use that space for Orchestral libraries. I'm not thinking about it at the moment, but you never know.

@@InTheMixReviewshello the low notes are much too intrusive, it sounds much too loud and produces a slightly too velvety back sound and the highs its too dry for example if I press too hard it will make a really sharp and a little unpleasant noise while you when you play hard in the treble it really makes a beautiful piano sound
@InTheMixReviews
@InTheMixReviews 3 года назад
@@deineospiano4972 Yes, this is a VERY bassy piano which is probably why they called it 'The Giant'. I wouldn't consider this library as a general purpose piano. It has a special tone and place. I looked up your videos, and if that's the type of video/music that you're working on, I highly recommend Noire from NI. In any case, to answer your question if you're not using this piano for a special purpose, you gotta watch out the velocity especially on the lower register to avoid getting that boomy sound. Same thing with the higher register. It takes some practice to get used to the feel.

I have a question: I don't have a digital hammered piano, but a nord electro 4D, a good keyboard, do you think I can appreciate the GIANT sound with this keyboard? Or do you think it could be useless having that library without a good keyboard? Can You help me?
@InTheMixReviews
@InTheMixReviews 4 года назад
If you’re a pianist and use to heavier keys, you’ll enjoy most piano libraries more of course. With that said, you can totally play the library to the fullest if you’re used to your keyboard. In general a heavier action gives more control over dynamics

do you think the focusrite scarlett solo 3rd gen is enough for this vst? or any other audiointerface of 100$ price range? if not could you give me tips for what to look at a audiointerface. i want to use only this and the ivory 2 american d. soundquality and latency is important for me because i wont use them for recordings (im a beginner pianist and use a digitalpiano), i want to use them "real time" its called monitoring i think. the price doesnt matter i just dont want to pay for something i wont use for example buying a focusrite scarlett 4i4 wouldnt make sense because the digitalpiano is the only thing i will connect to. thanks for your help
@InTheMixReviews
@InTheMixReviews 4 года назад
If you're only recording virtual instruments, having an audio interface will not contribute to the quality of the recorded audio, because everything happens within your DAW. It will however provide you with a much better headphone output, and also line outputs to be connected to external monitors/speakers, especially if you're on a pc computer. I'm not familiar with Scarlett Solo 3rd gen, but generally all recent audio interfaces that are compatible with the latest OS should handle the task . If this particular audio interface supports the latest OS and all that, then you should be fine. They come with a low latency ASIO driver.

@@alpay389 Any audio interface, even the cheaper ones,would give you much less latency than what your inbuilt soundcard on your computer will. In your case, I believe the Scarlett Solo would be fine.

Every time a key is played, the sound is the same, while on a real acoustic piano, each time, it´s different.
@InTheMixReviews
@InTheMixReviews 5 лет назад
If your NI Piano library has only one velocity layer, you should get in touch with the tech support ASAP. I own all their pianos and never experienced this problem!
@DihelsonMendonca
@DihelsonMendonca 5 лет назад
@@InTheMixReviews No, the problem is not the velocity layers, nor the NI library. Even with several layers in a single key, if a person play at the same level, it will trigger the equivalent layer, and the sound would be the same. On an acoustic piano, EVEN if you play the same key with the same intensity, every time the sound will be a little different, there are certain variables which change each time a key is pressed, like the waves travelling on the string on very different positions and directions accordingly with the sound and acoustic inside the instrument. An electronic piano would have to have more than 127 ways to express a simple key touch and every time, would be different, not only 5 or 7 layers per key.
@InTheMixReviews
@InTheMixReviews 5 лет назад
@Dihelson I’m a pianist and been playing and recording acoustic pianos for over 30 years. If I were to blind test you with multiple recordings, you’ll have many wrong guesses. I can assure you that would be the case! Aside from that It’s rather basic knowledge that no library can actually replace the real thing. For thousands of applications you wouldn’t want to use a real acoustic piano anyways. There’s no one rule that applies to everything. You could potentially have an acoustic piano that is unusable for many mechanical reasons as well
