The Christmas holidays are here! Check out our festive short film and follow the story of Jessie, a phone obsessed, self-absorbed teenager who gets an unexpected wake-up call on the eve of Christmas.
Shopee can learn a thing or two from ads like this. It’s not the celebrities or the stupid baby shark song that makes you interested, it’s the storyline. They’re nonsensical advertisements, honestly.
@@guohao7637 it still is... Partly. Because they were there as she grew up, they could've done something, or they could've taught her to appreciate the little things and to not be so materialistic.
The daughter was an entitled, selfish brat and her parents made her that way. Note to parents: Raise your children well and you won't have to go through this in the first place.
@@pineapplesupreme6159 See it's funny, if you come from poverty, you work so hard that even if you manage to be successful, you still live like you're poor despite what you can afford. You decide to have a family and work even harder, trying so hard to make your child grow up differently and much more comfortably. The parents aren't blameless of course, but it's a common story. It's easy to judge from the outside because you're not involved with their everyday life, the interactions and untold and established dynamic. You just see the result. Anyways, ad for a phone, dont buy em
Easier said than done. A baby doesn't get born with a manual attached. Parents are human too. They keep learning. Now that you know, maybe it's easier to be a good kid than a good parent.
@@BenjaxRivera sometimes yes, sometimes not. Not spoiling the child is one way but since every child is different some are much much harder for their parents to get them to behave. And you might need to find a different method for every child so that might explain that it won't succeed everytime
Somebody here: "At the end, she didn't go to the party, what a waste of 149 $." Somebody there: "She was too selfish, spoiled brats, blah blah blah..." Oh, come on man. It's just an ad, don't be an ad-shole! Merry Christmas btw, let His love and grace spread all over our life. Bless u all guys. 🙏🎄
If I were the parent, I would have said: "Oh ya, you are old enough to work. Get a part time job!" I got my first phone when I was 18, signed up myself, I got it because ppl seem to start being late for appointments regularly They can say they are otw when they have phones! I need know how bloody long I had to wait for them instead of finding a public phone to check on them. PISSED.
I think the plot simply wasn't developed enough. It's an ad after all. If it's a movie or drama with longer duration, they may add more stories and characters, etc. For an ad, it's good enough to make people don't want to skip it.
I love the story and all cast.... Very natural, deep and smart ! I watched it twice. I hope the current generation realize that family is more important than any stuff. "Never lose connection with your family"
To the creative person who came up with the idea, the storyline and the person who develops the story with extra emotional bits, you all are brilliant people. I like this ad and the girl is a very good actress. She looks natural, didn't overdo her acting. Well done, whole team.
I don't know what compelled me to watch the ad--I am just amazed by how I did not bother skipping it and watched it till the end! kudos to the marketing team.
well, she is lucky she get a phone for me i dont have one she must be thankfully i cried all night because my parent promise me that if they r prond of my result they would buy me a phone but they keep finding excuse not to buy me one and they said that i did very well
theres a better world out there then on mobile phones..dont get to addicted to technology!read , explore ! its much better than living in a house with technology...read abt history! its much better :) if u do have a phone plan a schedule when to stop playing and read a book .. dont get to addicted to everything!
I had my first phone when I was 16 years old. Imagine that! Bought it using money I won in a competition. Phones isn't a necessity. If can, work for it yourself. You will treasure it more. Your parents doesn't owe you a phone just because they promised you one. You owe them much much more for feeding, homing, clothing and most importantly, love u.
We didn't have mobile phones in the past. It seems that yesterday's wants became today's needs, and I can understand why since the world is moving so quickly. However, hopefully keeping in mind that we didn't need mobile phones in the past may encourage you. (:
Okay, I just followed this ad because I feel really really hurt. It’s hard to watch this without crying, coz you see her whole family is there. They’re whole, they’re together and she leaves them because she feels like they don’t fit her spectrum. All the while there are others out there who have broken families who will be so far from each other on the holidays who would pray for their family to be like hers: whole. It just goes to show how some people become so ungrateful and unsatisfied with what they have when what they need is right there. Thank you for this, truly ❤️❤️❤️😢😢😢❤️❤️❤️
Being a reviewer I have seen many videos that this one has never touched me so deeply that of showing what the true meaning of Christmas and the meaning of family is when it comes to Christmas and being there to share the season with them .
This ad popped up mid video & I had no idea why I didn't skipped but it hits close to home. I feel if after 5 secs and you didn't skip this, the ad has done its job. Although it's the 'typical' reunion with family during festive, my heart man. Anything concerning family hits me hard. Good job on the ad. And Merry Chrismen! (:
who is the cast? this is definitely one of the better local adverts i've seen in a while (especially 2019) good job to whoever brought the cast together and did all the BTS work +1
Why are teenage girls always so absorbed with friends, parties, trying to be popular, acting difficult??Selfish and material. Doesn''t want to be seen with an old phone...
@@lyn3061 it's not wrong when this ad confirms my observations from my own experience. And I'm not saying "100% of teenage girls are like this", I'm saying I've noticed many teenage girls like this. And this observation is not holier than thou attitude. Just watch the video, there's a lesson to be learnt about being considerate to family, but many materialistic teenagers still haven't learnt this lesson
Very nice touch! Reality catches peoples attentions. Hope every young people out there realizes how much hardships parents do for them. Merry Christmas to all!
Before she lost her phone, her mom is already working extra shifts to buy her a new phone? After she lost her phone, her mom bought one new phone and yet her mom still discussing with her dad about working extra shifts to get her “another phone” in the living room? She needs two phone???
I think mum made her daughter that mum thought that her daughter lose her new phone "carelessly" as always and she "does not want to lose her" to her friends. But the daughter always sell off her phone to buy new clothes and claimed that she lost it. She didn't realise how bad she was. Well until she is at the end...
bruh, if I have this kind of daughter, I rather don't have a kid, so ungrateful and no respect to her own parent. and the mom is kind of...... if you don't like to work that much, told your daughter to do some part-time and pay her own damn phone. and ask her mom 100$ for an unnecessary dress? girl, you want something then work for it, really, what is the point of this ad?
"If there's one thing I've learned over the eons, it's that you can't give up on your family, no matter how tempting they make it". It's Hermes quote in Percy Jackson novel series
