First, the very own Baptism is not necessary for salvation, see in Mark 16:16 Jesus Himself teaches that the SINGLE condition to be condemned is to not believe in Him .... and to make sure we get this point right , the thief at the cross (Luke 23:42-43) was saved without baptism .... he confessed his sins and believed Jesus and was saved.... On the other hand, true Baptism is the one by the Holy spirit and by fire (Mathew 3:11) so baptism is nothing and lack of baptism is nothing if the person truly and honestly don't repent and don't believe. Many will go to hell baptized and many will reach heaven without baptism because that is not the issue. The issue is "Love thy God above anything else" . If you repent and truly believe you will be baptized with the Spirit and that will make you love Christ, be passionate for Christ, which in turn will give you the desire to be like Him, so you will be baptized with water like He was and following His steps you will be persecuted and receive the baptism by fire like He did.

The malefactor who was saved was saved before Jesus died (Luke 23:43). Therefore the malefactor who was saved was saved before the first testament ended. Jesus cried when he said this: Jesus cried out and said “He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me” (John 12:44). But why did he cry out about this? Jesus knew these days would come when man would look to him as God instead of his Father, who is the only true God (John 17:3). He knew that most of the world would be lost for disobeying God's words through him. Again, in Mark 9:37, Jesus said “...whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.” Jesus' heart was grieved knowing most people would reject his sayings, which come from his Father. Jesus always leads us to his Father, never to himself. Jesus and the Father are one in agreement in all things, meaning we are to hear Jesus' words from God the Father and serve him only. It is only by Jesus' words that we can come to the Father (John 14:6). Any who reject this are rejecting God; as it is written, for many are called but _few_ are chosen (Matthew 22:14).
I think it not be a requirement and at the same time a step of obedience. Jesus walked the path as an example of what God wants from us. He shows in the word that Jesus is the only and most perfect example to how man should behave and walk their life aligned to Jesus’. With that said, think how even Jesus went to John to be baptized, I don’t think it was a requirement or a must for him to receive the full blessing of the father. Or at that moment was when God was pleased with him. No. Rather as an act of obedience, God was already pleased with him from the very beginning. This was him leading by example, he wanted us to confess our sins out loud. By choosing baptism, you are showing how you don’t care what others think. You will continue to choose God and glorify him in everything you do. This was an outward expression, of an internal decision. For his unconditional love and never ending grace, you’d do anything! Especially allowing your brothers and sisters to hold you accountable and help you grow in community. When you’ve experienced all this truly your spirit will tug at your heart and you’ll have no more doubt in baptism.
@@BENJAMINJAMESSMITH2000 That's a great question. According to scripture, it is not a requirement to be baptized of water. But it is a requirement to be baptized of the Holy Spirit. The baptism of water is symbolic for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which is expressed in Matthew 3. We must be purged of our sins if we are to enter the Father's kingdom. Being baptized of water is not the requirement. If that were so, hardly anyone would be going to heaven. The baptism of the Holy Spirit, however, is a must - how else can we understand the scriptures without the Holy Spirit?
