Kalani: Last of the ST-series Excellent Paint Job Coolest voice in the series So much of a Gigachad that he literally ignored the battle droid shutdown signal and refused to broadcast it to his troops Hands down one of the coolest characters in the franchise Probably the most successful of the CIS Super Tactical Droids And likely would have been unstoppable if he had access to a legion of BX-Series droids
He's probably not the Last one... listen, if he could think that the shut down order was a trap, why other Super Tactical Droid can't think the same way? Kraken is probably still alive (since he is the only other Super Tactical Droid that wasn't kill. He was killed once, but he get rebuilt)
I'm still hoping for the comebacks of the Kalani, maybe he contacted with the last geonosian and rebuild his army or even maybe reactive some separatist strongholds or at least being a mercenary and with bounty rebuild a small army of IG, even crossing paths with Dinn...
Kraken: Excellent ST Droid Absolutely beat the shit out of Anakin Had Rex just sit and watch him beat the shit out of Anakin Cool Paint job Rebuilt after being destroyed One of Count Dooku’s main ST Droids
I can’t believe that you went the whole video without mentioning the fact that General Kalani was smart enough to understand that the shut down order that was given to the droid army after Anakin purged the remaining separatist leadership on Mustafar was a conspiracy against the Separatists.
Kalani would probably be able to reinstate droid foundries too in that case since his cunning would allow him to predict where he could set up a new droid army
If Kalani can figure that out, I'm sure there are other Super Tacticals that figured it out too, I'd like to think Kraken probably did and survived since there's no mention of his second destruction anywhere.
If I remembered correctly, Kalani gave himself a name after refusing to go by his serial number. Other sci-fi would have deemed him a dangerous rogue A.I., but the Separatists understood the true value of Kalani gaining an ego past his default programming.
Imagine how different the Clone Wars would have been if Super tactical droids were left to direct the war effort for the Confederacy, and without the involvement of the Sith themselves.
The super tactical droids would not be enough with or without the Sith. Keep in mind Ventress and Dooku were key leaders in their battles. The separatists or the CIS part would wallop without the Sith because they already own most of the resources in the galaxy. They'd win by out-bidding the Kaminoan's projects over the republic without a Sith tactician puppeteering the war and proceeding to curb stomp by having all of the superior armies.
Why did the super tactical droids have three eyes? Literally speaking, no idea. But from an artistic standpoint, the third eye is symbolic of enlightenment, so it definitely makes these droids look intelligent, even intimidating.
It would have been interesting to see one in live action as a vilain or as an allied in a battle. It would have made a good character, and I agree, they do have an intimidating presence.
Their voices are also very intimidating, theyre probably the most imposing droids in the war, alongside that, unlike really any droid models present in the clone wars up to that point, they were actually unique individuals and are some of the most overtly-sapient droid models in the whole of star wars (alongside the more well known individual droids like r2d2, c3po, K-2SO, HK47, or IG88) General Kalani in particular stands out amongst other Super tactical droids.
One thing I never understood... was when there were no organic CIS members on board the ships... why did they have life support modules enabled? I mean, a lot of the nonsense that jedi and other boarding crew caused could have been limited if they were required to wear space suits while inside the ships.
If pressure was needed then that's fine, but perhaps they should have considered an emergency gas deployment system for when enemy organics board the vessel, something that can knock out or incapacitate enemies not using proper protection (and preferably a non-explosive gas).
As soon as I saw this droid in the show I immediately knew that they were a new, much more dangerous threat than the comically arrogant tactical droids I was used to seeing up to that point.
"You went up against a bunch of unarmed Twi'leks with a FUCKING AAT and lost." *vineboom* "You just stood there and talked shit as a mine stuck to a super-tank went off right next to your head." *vineboom* "You tried to press a button on your sliced-off arm even tho your were HOLDING IT IN YOUR OTHER HAND." *vineboom* "I can't even count the number of times your head gets ripped off and used to fuck us over." *vineboom* "Oh, and you lowkey look like you have lordosis." *VINEBOOM*
In bad batch season 1 they describe how big of the threat standard tactical droids were. To the point where they had first priority for smelting. Taking that information into account I imagine the imperial protocol for collecting deactivated super tactical droids was just destroy it on the spot (so they don’t even risk any of them getting stolen from a smelter).
"Alright men, we've been assigned to clear up the droids littering this Clone War battle zone. I want 3 piles of droids; B1 basics, B2 supers, and destroyers in the first pile, BX commandos in the second, and tactical droids in the third. We need the metal, so we're gonna smelt them." "Sir yes sir!" "And one more thing - if you see any Super Tactical droids, make sure the head doesn't function. We can't risk any of that knowledge being stolen and used against us. Standard tactical droids are too arrogant and easy to fool, that combat knowledge isn't much of a threat but we're still gonna smelt them first."
@@jacoblansman8147 It's funny that standard tactical droids acts smarter than most imperials in shows. And Kalani along pretty much outsmarts all imps beside Thrawn. lol
@@劉致雍-o1xagreed plus along with tarkins arrogance and pride of his superweapons without addressing their flaws even make kalani or kraken a run for their credits which is how likely tarkins downfall will come if both of them joined the rebel alliance kraken will be akbars vice admiral, and kalani will lead the rebel troops as vice general
As a collector of Star Wars figures it is a crime we still haven’t gotten one of these bad boys yet. According to leaks kraken was planned to be released in a wave that was set for late 2013 but sadly the clone wars line ended up getting cancelled prematurely.
I was thinking of 3d printing one, but the only file I can find is a low-res Star Wars Legions model. Got a fair few poses though, so maybe I'll scale it to 200mm and paint it to look like Kalani.
I wonder what would happen if a super tactical Droid was programmed with the same intellect as Grand Admiral Thrawn. And if Thrawn was put up against that Droid, do you think a battle between them could end in a stalemate or one could beat the other?
Given that Anakin's tactics consisted exclusively of suicidal frontal assaults and hail mary commando raids with little more than a hope and a prayer for success, besting him isn't exactly complicated.
Anyone wondered whatever happened to General Kraken after the Battle of Ringo Vinda? I mean, we never get to see him again after that. Was he still active like Kalani or was he already destroyed by the Empire when the Imperial task force invaded Ringo Vinda from the remnant of the Separatists under his command.
Rewatch the episode bro. Kraken attempted to leave Ringo Vinda with Tup and was then destroyed by Skywalker. We see him again on Dooku's ship above Scipio
@@tk-6967 Oh yeah! I forgot about that. but what happened to him after the Battle of Scipio? I mean, why was he reassigned to be somewhere else and no longer by Count Dooku's side?
@@lerneanlion Who knows. Maybe he was destroyed above Serenno or one of the other few remaining Separatist worlds, or perhaps he returned to the reserve fleets in the unknown regions where the vast majority of CIS forces were stationed.
Count Dooku: "I want you to secure the clone and bring him back to me. Any other resources you need to achieve this?" Super tactical droid: "No" Count Dooku: "No? A jedi will probably infiltrate your ship. You need some melee droids. More commandos? magna guards?" Super tactical droid: "No need for that" Count Dooku: "No need? What will you do against those jedi? They have lightsabers." Super tactical droid: "I use my fists and beat the shit out of them" Count Dooku: "Pardon me?"
Okay, but now I’d love to see a super tactical droid (Kalani, maybe?) try and brave Grand Admiral Thrawn. Of course Thrawn would win, but how it would go is what I’d love to see.
I wonder why Palpatine didn't have more of these droids aiding his Imperial Officers. Vader speaking of Imperial incompetence surely would've seen Super Tactical Droids deployed throughout the Empire Not gonna lie, Anakin taking those punches like a champ and then getting fed up and swinging back was dope too. Super Tactical Droid was "really like that", but Anakin is still HIM
You forget that Palpatine had purposely made the CIS pretty shitty and had them commit many war crimes. Imagine how much hate he would get from Republic loyalists if he just started reusing Separatist droids. Instead he chose to leave it to core world militaries, which have the shitty Republic officer culture which brews incompetence and pay to win attitudes.
Easy. Vaders opinions ain’t worth a damn thing to Sidious. If they did he would’ve shut down the Death Star and poured all resources into the Tie Defender program as Vader and Thrawn were pushing hard for it
Probably because Super Tactical Droids are TOO smart, if Kalani and probably others figured out the plans of Palpatine during the Clone Wars, then they would probably do it again and find ways to frustrate him.
So basically the Super Tactical Droid is a reincarnation of OOM-9, aka the badass droid commander we see in Episode 1 commanding his forces to run over the trees on Naboo and to fight the gungans in the plains.
Kalani sounds a lot like a certain Reaper when met on Virmire..."Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh. You touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding."
I think the perfect droid for the CIS would be a combination of the body and maneuverability of either BX commando or the I G 100 magna guard with the intelligence level of the super tactical droid.
@@Soundy310 The caped magnaguards are Grievous' elite bodyguards that he personally trained. They're the most powerful magnaguards we see but I don't think they or any other magnaguard assumed a command role. They primary programming consisted of front-line fighting and protection of key individuals.
I would not be surprised if the explanation behind Magnaguards was that they were excellent at fighting only because their intelligence processors were dedicated ENTIRELY to knowing how to fight and guard people. They don't even have vocoder units as far as I'm aware.
Does anyone else just love the cis? Everytime I see a video on them I have to watch it cause I just love em so much their ships their droids everything
I really want to know what happened to tactical droid kalani after he help the rebels escape. It will be epic if he gets his own series and if he does I want him to make a last stand for the confederacy as he’s fighting stormtroopers.
I feel like their three eyes may be a reference to the third/inner eye, especially with how the extra eye is positioned on the forehead. If that is the case, its a cool extra nod to their heightened intelligence and ability to think in ways other droids can't.
Super tactical droids were SMART AS HECK,and I mean SUPER SMART.if they get in a fight with the flipping chosen one,you can’t run or try and escape, you’ll just get destroyed with the force.the best tactic was to fight, and hit in the weak spots.
I always hated how stupid the droids are in the Confederacy. There's absolutely no reason they should be dumb, idc if this is a space opera with wizards charging into firefights with swords. There's simply NO reason for them to be stupid
"I calculate that our best chance of victory is for me to throw hands with the 'chosen' one" "But sir he is a jedi with plot armor!" "Fuck plot armor I calculate that my first punch has a 95% chance of crushing his ribcage and giving him internal bleeding! And the follow up combo has a 99.9% chance of snapping his spine and or severely crippling him it is simply the only way to achive victory!"
Yeah except ALOT of the time THEY came to conclusions about winning... They LOST. an pretty sure the likes of Thrawn, Raddus an Tarkin would think some glorified calculator would come anywhere near their genius on a battlefield. Being unable to recognize flaws in YOUR OWN tactics is hardly demonstrating a supervisor judgment an strategy.
(joke) Can I have one of these droids as a friend/life advisor? (For real though) These guys should've been mast fabbed at the end of the war and released into the uncharged zone of the galaxy with the mission of building up a new army and saving the sepertist.
The mind of a super tactical droid sounds just like mine I'm always coming up with possible scenarios in my mind it really helps in strategic games I probably get that from the ring of overactivity in my brain AKA the ring of fire and no it is not as cool as it sounds
An EMP is only useful if it's voltage passes the target's electronic surge rating. I imagine Grievous was designed with excellent grounding since EMPs and electricity would otherwide be a major weakness to exploit.
Don't forget the tactical droid who wasn't shut down after the end of the clone wars. He saw through Sidius's plan and disobeyed the shut down order because he believed it could be falls information from the enemy. He still maybe out there on his own.
Super Tactical droids also seemed to be less arrogant as their standard tactical droids and actually willing to cooperate with strategies provided the Oganic commander wasn't especially arogant and stupid as say Wat Tambor or Kendal Ozzel to name a few. Plus General Kalani was effective as he was practical to. I mean sure he could have been seen as a ruthless during Ondorian but he understand new kind of need to be against armed rebels. But understood from a point of trying to restore order against the rebel forces. Not purely as out of Malice or Enjoyment that say General grevious would. But also understanding when its wise to cut your losses and pull out if military resources are need it else where it means it will benefit the confederacy as whole like one planeraty King isn't worth wasting resources to defend if your losing battle droids and every equipment against a Guerilla force that is actually winning the asysemtric warfare fight against a conventional force. Like losing a Column of tanks to handful of rebels wouldn't be worth it or gunships squadrons. also the fact he was willing to work with Veteran clones during the Empires reigne really shows hey may not have had as much annimosity towards the veteran fugutive clones that Empire was trying to hunt since they joined the rebel alliance. Though Probably Kalani is no saint he probably compared to some his other kin and even standard tactical droids. Plus He probably make a lot of god complexed standard tactical droids jealous of how much success he can achieve with armies while a standard tactical is struggling even to command even a regiments worth of B1 and B2 battle droids at times. But Kalani also probably can see why General Grevious would sadistically murder B1 battle droids at times because as commander you need patience for the unfathomably stupid B1s which to be fair isn't entirely their fault just the leadership was to cheap or lazy to get done regularly though.
