When I was growing up on the farm, on warm summer evenings after Bible we'd all gather outside. Grandpa played the guitar and we all sang. Bluegrass and gospel, I miss those days. I carried on the tradition of reading the Bible together, praying and singing. There's no big family gatherings anymore, I'm only a widow with three kids.
I read some time ago that Bill Monroe had some problems with his teeth for a while and sang out the side of his mouth, and then others started to do the same thing.
I had the honor of playing with that gentleman two times in the late 50"s on the great WWVa Jamboree. I played banjo on a few other dates around NE part of the states back then .Loved his band "The Timberliners.
