Wow. I can't believe I am only finding this now, three years later. The Giving Tree was always one of my favorite stories and always made me choke up and try to hold back the tears. It is only now that I am a mother that I truly understand Tree. Well done! You are a true artist!
Wonderful modernised version of a classic story that is still so relevant today. Humans thinking of nature as a resource for their own gain. Love the music choices and the soft water colour palette.
Thank you so much for this beautiful work. This has been my favorite book since it was written and I always include it in a lesson each year of my teaching. I love how this book is represented in your version! It makes it so much more accessible to a wider audience of children and I thank you for that. The children love it, you can tell by the silence at the end. My husband loved this book as well and cried unashamedly when I read it to him. I read it at his funeral, reminding people that he was not the little boy in the story, but the tree. Well done Mr. Hendrickson, well done.
So moving. You added a depth to the boy. I've never really liked him, but I feel I understand him a little more. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for making this.
This is such a beautiful rendition of Shel's work. It made me cry. I love that you added some background detail, yet kept his moving storyline intact. Your watercolors are GORGEOUS! Thank you for all of the work that went into this. From a huge Silverstein fan & mom... ❤️
Wow. Just... Wow! I only knew the book because I was reading it to my au pair kids when I lived in the US and from that time on I loved it but this animation is so touching I still have tears in my eyes :') Thank you for sharing this with the world!
Hi Jordan, I work with children and would love to use your beautiful video as an illustration for a teaching in our online Children's church service. We would of course show the credits! Your work is lovely and goes perfectly with the story.
you know your video has 0 dislikes so far and u deserve that! this is a great interpretation of the tearjerking book! i love your verson also! its great!
I just love this. It’s so nice. The tree gave the boy everything it had to make the boy happy. This made me realise that we take so many things for granted. It’s so nice to see this in real life. To see people make there friends happy by giving them everything they have because they care about them. This brought tears to my eyes
Absolutely amazing. (The only way it could be more perfect is if you edited it so that the music never stopped in the cutaways to the boy. It's so moving and powerful, it should keep running no matter what) Thank you so much for this, I'll be using it in my class tomorrow
This was amazing. Not going to lie though, I did cry a little bit haha. I love the book and this animation, I also subscribed. Job well done, thank you for this :)
Good day Jordan :D I'm from the Philippines and even though I don't remember anything like the giving tree in my elementary grades, but when I discovered it and read it, It crumples my heart haha.
Quer Laconico Thank you so much for the kind words. It should be the first result on RU-vid. If you can't find it, it might mean it isn't available in the Philippines. But here is the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ALWYoFkP0LQ.html and the link to buy it online tidido.com/a35184372200722/al560175ace7c622686aafae9d/t560175afe7c622686aafaf50
Hi Jordan, thank you so much for creating such a beautiful interpretation of a classic. I run an educational farm animal sanctuary in China (www.farmflow.org) and I would love to share your video with my students. However, they do not speak English so I will need to add Chinese subtitles to your work. Please let me know if I can have your permission to do so. Thank you!
Hi Jordan, I'm currently producing a feature documentary on Sacramento's world class urban forest. I interesting in using parts of your nice animation in part of the film and would like to explore this with you.
