I recently bought 2weeks ago a SOLID 14k gold 24inch 5mm flat curb link chain with a Solid 14k Gold Mariner anchor Cross pendant . Paid $1,838 for it(Price/value of Gold has gone up a lot due to the economic crisis caused by this coronavirus pandemic) Anyways I’m happy walking around with something REAL around my neck, with no worries. Word of advice to anyone who wants to buy nice jewelry is to start putting money to the side 💵 and just buy a real piece. No matter how long it takes to save, honestly I’d be patient saving up for something real. It’s worth it 💯
This is great advice and also for the kids that can’t wait and have to flex right now. Start with real solid silver and save your way up to real gold. Trust me, the feeling of knowing everything you got on is legit is unmatched.

You gotta realize the majority of their customers don’t even know what real solid gold looks like so they don’t even notice how off the coloring is which is due to them using brass as the base metal so it kinda seeps through the plating. They do have vermeil options for some of their pieces which I would recommend because it looks a lot better and the piece will at least be worth something. I never bought a chain or bracelet from them but I do have a couple pendants which are both Vermeil and they look closer to 10k solid gold. Decent pieces that I’ve had for a year or so and still look great.
rhymegarden vermeil is just a fancy word of electroplating 925 and the longer it’s in the solution the better results there are 14kt standard to 24kt but usually most jewelers use up to 18kt and the longer it’s being electroplated and pre polished the better results
Imo from owning lots of "fake" jewellery from the gldshop.. (vids on my page) I always go with the cz combos and they look great. Vermiel looks 1:1 like 10kt. I've never found great craftsmanship in any plain gold plated items and there just not worth it.. but for some people that know they'll never afford the real deal but like the look, it's worth it. When your wearing it most people wont be able to tell its plated or fake.. unless someone knows extremely good craftsmanship like me and cuba 😂
Ive bought a pendant and a few chains, quality is amazing, never had any tarnishing etc. Still looks brand new and never had a problem with their jewelry.

If you want a bigger chain or bracelet, (like in this vid) get it in vermeil or solid gold not gold plated. Big chains that are gold plated chip a lot and since it is a big chain, you can see it easier. With small chains, you cant see the chip marks just a little tip to buy a chain on gld

@@Savethepandabears i bought a 5 or 6mm chain from gld and it came with a 3mm rope chain for free and it was a good deal because the cuban costed 150 and the rope costed 100 but i got them both for 120 and the cuban is nice but the rope is a little bit magnetic so i think it might be fake even though it said they were both 18k the cuban hangs straight and hasnt even started to fade after 3 months the only thing i dont like about it is on the latch thing to close it is a big GLD and it just looks weird to me but otherwise i like it a lot

Man I bought a piece and wanted a return, that took a whole 30 days and over 45 emails. I will say the first Cuban I bought was solid and heavy, very nice plating. But my return came back straight garbage, super lightweight and the gold plating was light asf damn near looked silver.

I bought a gold plated chain from GLD to help me decide if that’s the size I wanted to purchase in a real one. It was HORRIBLE quality. Shit didn’t even look like they used gold to plate it. If you’re going to get a plated chain go elsewhere. I had it back in the box in 10 minutes and shipped back to them for a refund the same day. It is TRASH.
Wasn't a video of real vs plated, and their 14k bracelet is marked up a bit more then most for something they don't make in house. Plated jewelry is made affordable and plated with real gold, so its supposed to give the impression of a 10-22k, but these particular (idk about the whole line) did not give a "real" look which is what i assume people look for when they buy gold plated. Just an opinion.
I've seen split reviews on shop GLD. Like the cheaper end around $100 always seems like the same shit you can get on any chinese knockoff jewelry site. But it seems like they have higher quality jewelry too like their white gold plated or solid white gold (for 60k) diamond prong cuban they have. I'd love to see someone who knows what they're talking about review those higher up options too.

J Vansickle Bro, I got my 7mm 20” Miami Cuban in 14k white gold from DJI back in August. I love, love, love this fuking thing. I sent it back for them to convert the box lock to sleek lock. I love it even more now. Anyway, it hangs straight as an arrow. I wear it all the time, 24-7s. It occasionally kinks up but rebounds easily with a quick adjustment/reset while around my neck. I would contact DJI with your concern. If the chain was made correctly, you shouldn’t have any problems with it. They will hook you up with a prepaid shipping label. Send that thing back, let them look it over and fix it.

Cause there solid gold is over priced. Also consider that the gold plated Cuban links are created to give the impressions of a solid gold Cuban link chain. Are they not? All these costume chains are created to resemble actual gold or diamond jewelry. So since some people don’t care about wearing actual solid or simply can’t afford it then it should look like the actual gold Product that it’s trying to mimic. Which my product didn’t, especially when some Asian brands are making better quality, realistic looking, with richer gold tones with some offering high electroplating, without the large price tag they attach due to the massive marketing they do. I am not saying all products they sell are shit, but my product definitely was.

Gold plated stainless steel and brass jewelry is usually shinier than real gold. It can be to shiny tho. Color is often dark so you need to go with 14K and not 18k or 24k. 14K is lighter and looks closer to real gold on plated jewelry. Gold plated looks Ok especially if you dont want to spend a lot of money. I have both real and fake. I prefer gold plated silver most, if I dont do real gold. It looks identical to gold and is the way to go because it's not fake. Lasts a long time. Just costs more.

The stones are set really well and has a nice shine to em. I wear the chain maybe twice a week (off and on skin) and the plating shows minor scratches but nothing too deep is still holding up til today and looks very good
