OMG, I live in North Carolina in the US and our abc stores have very limited selections of scotch whiskies, I've been lucky enough to pick up a couple of nice ones but now I am going to have to catch a flight to Scotland to do some real hunting!
Both fantastic distilleries Ian, Glenallachie for me are a little more modern, higher abv more variation now doing peat...still would not say no to any Glenfarclas...😜
Wow Alan! Great review, I was intrigued by your rating of 95-96 for this Glenallchie release. I have already drank several versions of the 2007 13 years and 15 years original presentations, and Signatory Vintage. They were all great, so yesterday I bought the only available bottle on Whiskybase 2005 Casknumber 901037, unfortunately for 264 e with shipping, but I hope it's worth it. I can't wait to see if she really is that great. You are a great authority for me in the world of whiskey and as much as you love Sherry Bomb and Springbank, this will be a great experience to see if I rate it similarly. I have never had a whiskey rated so highly by a professional. Regards

Wow! 95! I have a US only Ralfy Anniversary 13 year single cask. Not as rich and dark as yours from today. Thinner mouthfeel. The Us version is Olo Sherry not Port as the US release was. Still lovely. Great to see you so excited Alan! All the best Neal
