I’m old enough to remember when the 308 came out. It would blow your mind to actually see one on the road. Still one of the most beautifully designed cars ever.

I have a 1985 in my collection. Back in my high school days this car was one of my dream cars. Magnum PI was one of my favorite shows. When I had an opportunity I purchased one because of those reasons. I love the old school feel and the gated shifter of this car. It's just a cool, iconic car.

I love the old 308,328 cars. I once spent $700.00 on raffle tickets trying to win a 328 And my wife didn't call me a idiot! I knew then I picked the right girl. I'm sure there are more of you in normal guy nation that have done similar things. Have a great day everyone!

I saw a RU-vid video of a modified 1979, carbureted 308 GTB that produces around 270 horsepower, minimal body roll, and an awesome exhaust note by the addition of a Tubi exhaust. I learned that many 308s have been modified by their owners seeking a more modern experience, so it seems that the stock-optioned 308s can be canvasses on which to realize ones dreams!

Great video! Thanks for putting this together. I own an US 84 GTS QV, and have had it 15 years, put ~30K on it. I know 308s very very well. I hope you don't take offense, but I just wanted to point out a few things in an effort to help you since you're selling it: * The dash is actually black vinyl, not leather. It's actually a better material for the dash as it less prone to cracking and shrinkage. That's why it still looks so good. * You're right about no power steering, but it does have power brakes. * The cover you found in the trunk (also vinyl) doesn't go over the roof, rather it goes over the targa top when the targa top is stored behind the seats. * The aerial switch is missing a black knob..Should be the same as the other switches. * Something is going on with the passenger side mirror, looks like the mounting plate assembly is backwards. * If you're planning to do an oil change , I would ditch that K&N oil filter, and replace with a Balwin B253 or the OEM UFI. My first true car love as GenX and through out my early years! Now u guys know why a bunch of us still love these; agreed slow by 430 standards. ;) For those that haven’t driven one, the steering is seriously stiff without power steering. They are so fun and special! This one looks to be super clean for its age. The seat leather/skin should be pretty solvable and readily available online. Hope to see a video on that. Might need Tyler to script a Hawaii shirt/Tigers cap high speed pursuit or vacation scene with stand in Christie and Chevy.

These are great fun cars (I have a 328). At low speed they are cumbersome and handle like a farm tractor, but once you get cruising they are in their element and live up to the "grand" in GTS. By far my favorite out of dozens of sports cars I have owned over the years, even with all the weird quirks and oddball Ferrari engineering decisions (like running the shifter shaft through the engine oil pan to get into the transmission -- completely nuts). Right now I park my 328 next to a modern Miata in my garage. The 328 is longer in the nose, but wheelbase and rear overhangs are about the same and the Miata is quite a bit taller. I think the low flat wide appearance makes the 308/328 seem big but it's really a small car.

I find it FAR less intimidating to drive a Double-H gated shifter than I do a paddle-shift car. I've never had the chance to try the flappy-paddles, but I'm well-versed in the pure joy of totally-analog Ferrari driving. It is an experience NOT to be missed. I will probably be buried in my 308.

I had a 1983 308 GTB. A timing chain broke and wiped out one side of the V8. 20k later I had it running. Miss it.

Ferrari made a huge improvement over that model when they introduced the QV version of it, and then later the 328. I have an 89 328 GTS, just love it.

The 328 may perform better but it’s not nearly as cool looking, and the interior isn’t as timeless. The 308 QV is the one.

@@NewpsBeach22 The 328 had many revisions to the chassis and floor in particular the driver's foot well which improved driver's comfort. Also the clutch was a massive improvement for driver's comfort. I have the latest being the 1989 model which also features the steering rack & ratio of that of the 288GTO. I believe it to be the exact same rack ( so I'm told ). The ride in the 328 is no where near as harsh as any 308. The spring rate is way softer in the 89 328. Trust me I have driven many before making my purchase. At the time of purchase I was after a carb 308 but couldn't find any in decent condition at the time, and this 328 came up, and that's what happened. I ended up with a 328. The only real negative I have with it, is the fact they use Belstein shocks which are not available or manufactured any more so replacement is a real PITA. One of the best feature is the fuel injection, leave it in storage for six months and it will start first kick every time.
