Probably best play for English here is fast castle into spears crossbows, and hope to win from farm economy and king's palace. As long as English survive early castle they'll definitely come out ahead, until HRE goes imperial. Or maybe English should have dropped outposts with arrowslits on all relics. Definitely should have gone barracks earlier.

English shouldn't have problems with dealing with HRE, but Viper made a poor play.

This was truly tragic. Viper just seemed to have no direction what so ever in terms of where he wanted to go with the English. Then it just ended up with this unfortunate loss of standing on relics, hoping that Marine Lord would just run in to him :'(

As the HRE player all I can say is if you're vsing HRE and you play Fuedal aggressively you will win the game 90% of the time. They suck so bad in age 2, the fact that Viper didnt capitalize on that is shocking to me, since when I was watching his stream and he was playing HRE he almost always got crushed in Age 2.

Yes, that matches my experience with HRE. In Age2 they are hard to play competitive.

Love to see more people are playing the Brits and in so many different ways but I feel like they are winning even less now. When was the last english win on this channel?

english is currently S tier, and absolutely disgustingly strong atm.

@@mathmoril I keep hearing that but I'm not seeing a long of proof in the competitive game play. When the patch released there was a spike of wins but I think they have been figured out largely.

HRE has always been viable. Its just ROUGH time if you cant get a fast castle OR if you get relic denied.

And that's the main problem. HRE doesn't have anything that stands out during the Age 2, and is too dependent on relics.

@@jshadowhunter I agree. Age 2 needs to offer something like Man-at-Arms Maces upgrade or even cheaper Blacksmith upgrades. SOMETHING. its not viable to rush with HRE against aggressive civs because it delays aging up. Maybe a buff like faster base stone & gold gathering in Feudal could be explored.

@@jshadowhunter I love regnitz. Wish it could still hold 3 relics instead, but also wish each relic gave the landmark a defensive boost. The other landmark is better now, but they need to had something like units cost less, or maybe Even if special units didnt cost gold when produced from it. SOMETHING
