Backpack hero: The only game that makes you question if there are poisonous mice!

The closest thing to that is the manaflow bow and the arrow that gets buffed by attatched mana crystals. But I wouldn't really count that just because in order for it to work out, you need to basically go mage at that point. And guess what? It's really hard to get mage to actually work.

@@bioniclink3026 Mage has some really interesting options, but it's severely limited by still taking damage from spikes in my opinion. I once had a decent build with the wand that gets more damage for each connected mana stone plus some matching buffs for mana refill and damage, after entering endless mode I could deal around 700 damage turn one and 500 damage each further turn, but still quickly reached a point where I couldn't survive spikes no matter what since my damage was split into 10+ uses of the wand. Without cleansing flame it's pretty much the same as with cleavers, just worse scaling.

There's the gems, which work decently with bow builds, cleaver builds, and pickaxe. There's also a couple attempts with the mana stones, like the mana structure and the mana bow and arrows that gain damage off mana, but those tend to fall short

@@dominikdoom I had a similar build where I had the crescent moon thing for block, but I couldn't get past the king with 30k hp on floor 27 (this was before update)

I agree with what you’re saying (aside from a few cases). I’m glad this is still in beta! If the devs take constructive feedback and iteratively improve the game until the final release, the final release will be nearly perfect

What about that one club weapon that cost 0 energy but damages you when you use it? That could maybe work with the rapier? Of course, not nearly as well because it goes through armor first but still.

@@Gimmick_Standard well, at the time I was just screwing around(I’m sure), and so at first I thought the interaction was bad cause I would bleed to death through my armor, but then I noticed, it helped the rapier and so I tried to play around it 😅

Tooth necklace is sooo good with an archer build if you have any sort of consistent healing

@@Gimmick_Standard That weapon is fun. If you take the hourglass, you can make it do negative damage, and use it to trigger vampirism crystal to cheese out enemies, or use peridots to make it do infinite poison damage. It gets infinitely tedious tho, but you can later ditch the hourglass when you've stacked thousand of -1 damage modifiers on it, so that you can just use it to weaken mobs or heal to full for free before blocking. Technically, since it's damage you take, it might also trigger the rapier.

infinite poison build. Berserkers club, hourglass, a poison gem or whetstone. you can literally do infinite poison. but you do poison yourself. so be sure to 1 hit ko or have rags.

It's barely updated in any meaningful way since the last video honestly. workshop mods are probably the major draw right now.

I mean the point of endless mode is more really to see how far your build can go. Not really to see how far you can scale.

@@lifetake3103 even if you have the best possible rng and build, you will eventually hit a hard cap in endless. That’s not endless. They should also allow you to scale infinitely too

@@vbgvbg1133 Great? you're eventually gonna hit a hard cap anyways or just go infinite in endless which is pointless. Like what is the actual purpose of going endless in endless? Literally nothing. However, if being able to see how far you can get is the point all of a sudden there is a goal to get to.

@@lifetake3103 thats kinda what im saying, its just that the whole point of seeing how far you go is actively hard capped, because you’re unable to improve your build any further after a certain point. This means that you already know how far you will go with a build, thus defeating any point of endless mode. Right now it isn’t seeing how far you go, it’s seeing which build is better. If it WAS truly seeing how far you can go, you should be able to continue improving otherwise it defeats the purpose of it being a roguelike

@@vbgvbg1133 It is perfectly fine if a build stagnates. It's gonna happen anyways or its bad game design. Your pickaxe build no matter how many row and column gems you get is not gonna be able to compete eventually. Your cleaver build is just not gonna have enough damage. By increasing the backpack size you aren't changing anything really you're delaying the inevitable. Your build can be hard capped and still see how far you can go. It's not like that purpose leaves because your backpack is capped. Secondly, that last statement just shows you have a horrible understanding of roguelikes and roguelites. Because literally every single major one has an ending. Some have endless modes akin to this game, but the endless mode is not main purpose of the game. I'm sorry if you think this game is too easy and bought yourself a delusion that endless is the true game, but it isn't. The endless mode isn't the roguelike game. This is why Tyler wants their to be ascensions similar to slay the spire to amp up the main game.

Yeah but you don't get to choose which bosses you fight (mostly). Maybe if it was a relic or rare/legendary item though, it could work

@@jmejuniper I don't see your point here I suggested this because he said that he gets bored of endless mode because he doesn't encounter enough upgrades towards his build but adding a feature similar to what I suggested could help this problem.

@@Hthe Yeah but you have to kill the bosses in the "finale" floors. Which means you are forced to take an increase in weapon or armor drops even if you don't want them. The only bosses you can skip are the ones present on regular floors, and those not all the time.

@@jmejuniper well am suggesting that you can pick any type of weapon like clever, sword, spear, or any armor or gem plus they could just add a option to not pick

I tried a cleaver build... it kinda sucked. I got past floor 9 no problem, but only found 3 non-common cleavers... just bad luck. I saw 3 other nice ones in things like the peg game and memory game, but again just had the bad luck to miss them. I'm sure they're super good with just a tad more luck though.

Don't aim for builds buy try to flow into one with a general idea in mind

there was a point in the video where he had 2 pearls below the shaft of the pickaxe, and it looked like they were both getting the effect used so
