The worst part of Castlevania's death (at least in terms of games) is that we're more than likely never gonna get a Demon Castle War game with my man Julius as the star.
@@jmgonzales7701 I mean they are doing Richter series. They said they are looking for characters with good stories. And Julius definetly has a badass story
@@jmgonzales7701 Yeah, I don't think it matters whether or not they pick up Julius' story because his story is going to be wildly different even if they do. Remember what Netflixvania did to the characters of Castlevania 3 and Curse of Darkness, and particularly to Dracula? Chances are it's just gonna be something really uninteresting at best if they do bring in Julius so I don't think it should matter to us anyways. Like Richter's my favorite Belmont by far, but I still have no real interest in seeing the supposed series they're doing with him after what happened in Netflixvania.
Any Belmont besides maybe Leon could beat Dio. Julius would just be extreme overkill...the only reason he lost to Soma was because he was holding back...the same Soma that then went on to fight and defeat Chaos at the heart of Castlevania, aka the source of all monsters and evil and the being that he, as Dracula, was tethered to for so long as well as a primal force of the universe at the heart of Dracula's Chaos Dimension.
The Joseph of the Belmonts Both gathered a group of people to stop a vampire We saw them in their prime all the way to their old age And both broke their family curse
@@cake6851 Julius is definitely not Jotaro. Jotaro lacks the kind of agency that Julius showed back in 1999. Jotaro just kinda got wrapped up in the battle with Dio once Holly became cursed, he initially planned to sit out the adventure since he thought it was ridiculous. Old Joseph is a very apt comparison role wise as he was the driving force behind Stardust Crusaders. Jotaro's probably closer to the Netflix Series' depiction of Trevor than anyone else.
Julius' battle of 1999 is insane when you think about how the time frame for most Belmonts and vampire hunters take about a full night to storm Dracula's Castle, only finishing by sunrise. Julius on the other hand, storms the entirety of Dracula's castle in the timeframe of a Solar Eclipse, which is minutes. Not only fights and kills Dracula, but then drags Dracula's body all the way back outside the castle.
There idea when making lore that you need to leave something a mystery so you can make it up later, there wil probably never be a game about Julius in 1999 since it’s better from story telling stand point to leave it ambiguous as possible.
I’m not saying it impossible, it just if easier to make stuff up without making a game for 1999, to be honest I would like game after leon and before Trevor I wanna know what the Belmont’s did during that time.
Indeed. Sonia is not canon and between Trevor and Simon, there are Christopher and Soleiyu. Also, Sara died before she could marry Leon. So if they did not have children outside of their thwarted marriage, she could not have Belmont progeny. Also, who is that guy after Richter?
@@Ninjaananas Açcording to the Castlevania Wikia that picture of the generic vampire hunter is supposed to represent various defendants of Richter that were born before Julius, i.e his dad, father, grandfather, etc.
I kinda like how they show Julius very much being weaker in DoS. His whipping is slightly delayed, he cant perform the teleport move he does in AoS, he cant superjump, he cant perform air grand cross and he can be interrupted in he middle of invoking grand cross. Also his run is much slower
I would consider Julius ceasar as more of a strategist then a tactician, he was better at the macro strategy then tactical maneuvering. To make up for this weakness he surrounded himself with trustworthy, highly capable officers who could act independently when the situation called for it. His most famous battle, the battle of Alesha, is a strategic marvel in that unlike other great strategists like hannible who could take advantage of even the smallest weakness or advantage to achieve victory, ceasar simply flipped the situation on its head and forced a disastrous position to become an overwhelmingly advantageous one.
@John doue Quebec a strategist works on the long term and creates a plan that encompasses as many elements of a given situation as posible basically works on influencing the macro of a situation by taking advantage of a lot of situational imbalances to beat the opposition A tactician works on the short term and basically looks for or creates the most effective outcome by using tactics such as diversions, lurings, ambushes, using the terrain toi their advantage etc, and their objective is to create the imbalances that the macro strategy demands to be realized Basically a strategy is like a carefully planned out checklist of objectives that if fullfilled Will Yield a result and the role of the tactitian Is to fullfilled those checkmarks as best he can by using tactics A strategy without tactics is unattainable and tactics withouth a strategy are meaningless
Most of the backstory that you have in other games comes from mithology from real world, or older games, so it's not that out of place to expect a prequel from a castlevania game.
And it is the final fight against dracula's true form, and not some reincarnated dude with the soul of dracula, so it is, to some sense, the end of the classic belmont legacy.
The first castlevania game (i think) was released in 1982 while jojo's was in 1983, but to be honest. Jojo is a better and well-made version Castlevania since it doesn't has that complicated and inconsistant lineage timeline (even the main producers regretted of ever making the official timeline xd) Editted: Jojo Started in 1987 xd
He's not wrong though. Castlevania makes tons of JoJo references. In dawn of sorrow there is a boss who's effectively discount Dio. And the stone mask can be found in portrait of ruin
Julius is the coolest but I still have a soft spot for Richter. I do kinda wish they found a way to intergrated Julius into smash Bros though. Maybe as a DLC outfit if they do that.
considering we know mecha ridley exists but was not available in the demo, we might just get extra costumes that change it up quite a bit. i wouldnt get ur hopes up but it would be very plausible
Iga is like the one guy who could write himself into his series as a super overpowered self-insert and actually do a decent job of it. Maybe Kojima too.
As a big fan of Castlevania and the Belmont clan I'm holding out hope Julius managed to have a kid some time during his wanderings. I know its unlikely we will ever get another game, but it would be a dam shame for the Belmont line to die out.
4:02 funnily enough i did test out this claim in Aria of sorrow by just only having the chaos ring whilst also having Alura Une's soul (Which rapidly regnerates health) and put Julius's fight to phase 2 (With his sub weapons)...... He wasn't kidding when he can kill monsters/people with rapid healing factors....
I thought i knew everything about Julius, but him being based on Koji Igarashi blows my mind, dude just puts himself in the game as the most powerful Belmont, what a madman!
Absolute peak Belmont, culmination of generations upon generations of focused demon slaying. His story of 1999 is the ace the series is holding onto in the event that they ever make another return.
Thank you for making me appreciate this story, the game and the character Julius Belmont more. And wow... He really is an absurd old man when you put it like that. I enjoy the story more now.
Julius Belmont game starting at level 1. Decimates entire castle while leveling being opinional. Me: Well that was fun, I wonder what I can do at level 2? Dracula: *Heavy sweating*
Julius is such a goddamn chad that not only did he kill Dracula so hard that he could never resurrect again, but he did it when he was NINETEEN YEARS OLD HE HADN"T EVEN GRADUATED COLLEGE AND HE KICKED THE LITERA EMBODIMENT OF CHAOS' ASS SO HARD HE HAD TO REINCARNATE INTO A TWINK
Julius is my favorite Belmont followed closely by richter, despite his age he is one bad ass vampire slaying machine of a man, his skills are pretty damn cool too although most are defensive by nature like his omnia veritas.
Hmmm... maybe the guys who did Netflix Castlevania could make a series about Julius! They just wrapped up Trevor's story, though I think it's likely they'll either go back to Leon or skip to Richter 'cuz he's popular and has more story. I think it's unlikely they'll just continue with Christopher.
I've just finished playing aria of sorrow so this came perfectly and i couldn't agree more, i would like to see you expand more on games or series, etc.
Gets all the respect from me because he basically said he was tired of Drac's bullshit and decided to do something serious about it. Man wasn't planning to bury Dracula in his Castle as tradition and said the dusty nerd needed to go to CHURCH.
Thanks man. I was born in '80 and discovering Julius on the 1st of July. I was amazed at the similarities between me and Trevor from the anime but me and Julius have way more. I won't go on and on but Again thanks and happy 4th
I hope it can be made. It just takes a good team and a proper way to tell the story as well as to create a great game mechanic to invest on the adventure. Julius needs to be made as the Ultimate Coolest Belmont as well, to show that the cool factor increased after Simon, beginning with his grandson Juste, continuing with Richter and culminating with Julius. Cause sure, Old Julius is alright, but can you imagine Young Julius storming Castlevania and killing the un living crap out of Dracula?
Let me get it Immune to time stop Master of kiling vampires Can hit fast/hard enough to kill before regenaration powers work Yup, this madlad beats dio in a blink
I watched a Castlevania timeline video a while ago, I watched the Netflix anime and Meti makes a video on a character that I didn't really get to know? I'm just being overloaded with knowledge.
Wait, a channel I haven't watched in a while all of a sudden posts a video on one of my favorite Castlevania games? Now you're just begging me to watch you again!
Wow Meti, I didn't know you liked Castlevania! It's one of my favorite video game franchise to date. What's your favorite game? Mine is either Super Castlevania 4, Symphony of the night, or the first Castlevania game on the NES.
Keep seeing review shills calling Richter the strongest (even though he can’t even hurt a single night creature with the same type of whip Trevor could one shot Vampire generals with) because they want to make Nocturne popular but really it’s our boy Julius
