"Head Over Heels" is one of my favorite songs of all time, but _Beauty and the Beat_ was their best album for me. Not one shippable track on that album. I just remembering listening to the record when I was 7 and 8 years old (it was my sister's property, but I hijacked that shxt, and I still have it, and it's just so perfect to me). I would listen over and over because I wanted to be them. I'm like this dark-skinned black girl wishing I was a Go-Go so badly. I became a drummer because of this band. They were iconic for me.
. As usual Kathy's bass line is solid as concrete !!! Love that Charlotte changed her solo from the album version !!! Sounds more musical and not so mechanical as the album version. To check out something light hearted, look at the video from 1984 that they made for MTv and look how much Belinda looks like her son when she's in man- drag... Love ya ladies !!! Still relevant in your 60s and up to bat for 40+ years now !!!💋💋💋💋💋
42 after they broke out , after 3 years as a full fledged punk band , they still kick A$$ I always loved this song. Thank you Clem for the great fill in.
I wish the Go Go's management would upgrade the filming and sound recording of these current performances, it will become valued history... They are now Hall of Famers and only have so much time before the shows will stop. They deserve to have every possible high-def sound and video recording equipment... It's now possible to use cameras that do not interfere with the performance. And they should have ALL performances documented in high-definition sound and video. This type of tech is not expensive.... The video here is OK... But it reminds me of a 1980s Video cam Corder or someone with a good cell phone. Disappointing because "Turn to you" is rarely performed and deserves to be captured with state of art equipment and techniques.
