The Go-Go‘s (with Blondie’s Clem Burke on drums) performing their newest song “Club Zero” for the first time at the Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood, Ca on Dec 14, 2021.
This song is a miracle that it was made. True story - they broke up originally because Charlotte Caffey and Jane Wiedlin who wrote the majority of the music, got most of the money. This song only happened because Charlotte Caffey who co-wrote this song with Anna Waronker shared it with the band, where Jane and Kathy got to contribute as well. Gina and Belinda deferred and did not write any of it but they were all in agreement to share the profits equally on this new song made for their documentary film closing credits as Charlotte had this fast-paced traditional song that could do well for them. It actually made it into Billboard's Hot 100 for the Go-Gos for the frist time in 19 years. Shows that in their 60s they still have what it takes to have a hit song. Nice to see their long relationship with Blonde coming through here because of Gina's health problems (Kathy has performed with Blonde in the past as well).
i WANT to say she was having some type of surgery...i vaguely remember he saying something in an interview before the induction, but i am not too sure. too bad she didn't make the WaGG performance! seems odd without her, but i tell ya, these girls will be around in to their 60s and 70s i think. LOL she'll get there again! :)
I wish I could have been there. This song should have been a hit especially with all the trash that's being played today by artist who have no talent. It's pathetic. Unfortunately today you have to pay radio stations big money in order to get an artist heard on the radio. Before it was an artist talent and a good song that got artist heard. It isn't like that anymore. You can't even call in a radio station today to make a song request like we did back in the day. I have to say I'm glad I grew up when I did. Kids today are being cheated out of so much and they have no clue. I won't even get into how ridiculous concert tickets are today to see an artist that isn't singing live. LMFAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣. The Go-Go's are the real deal. Always live!!!❤
