@@coreotterto be fair, this is probably because of the fact that for a little while, Zeus and Hades were considered the same god, so their names get mixed up a lot in older mythology. That particular myth was written before Hades was considered a separate being from Zeus, and so some of his traits are part of Zeus in that myth
@@tanakisoupmythilogy is confusing specially because every city/state of greece had their own cannon and legends which also changed over time. Also that seems to be the reason poseidons name translates to "earth shaker" and hes the god of earthquakes, initially he was the chief of the pantheon as well as serving the role of Hades, and since they actually said the underworld was in fact under the earth it would make more sense for their ruler god to control a phenomenon like this. But in restrospect when you consider the tides are influenced by the tectonic plates aka underwater earthquakes, its really funny how they kinda guessed how the real world phenomenon really happens.
re: the gods and Hades 2, Hephaestus is one of the twelve Olympians, so he definitely should count! the ones we're missing in H1 are him, Apollo, and Hera. if I were to guess, I'd say they'll probably have Hephaestus serve a similar role to Daedalus hammers, since smithing is his domain. it will be interesting to see regardless. fwiw there are conflicting historical accounts on whether Hestia or Dionusys are the last of the twelve olympians, but since we already have Dio confirmed as one, that should exclude Hestia.
Why not Hestia also? Supergiants don't follow that they can only have 12 Olympians. Hestia should be included in it as the 13th Olympian. Btw it is believed that Hestia gave her position to Dionysus in mythology.
@@HerMi.T we're only speculating at this stage, I'm not saying what they are going to do definitively. personally I wouldn't want them to make Hestia a 13th Olympian, especially when, if they wanted, they could put her in the game without needing to change the mythology that radically (Kronus was also her enemy and Hades is her family too, so it would make sense for her to be involved). but again, we don't have any information for who will definitely be in the game
Like the other guy said, it's usually said that hestia gave her position up to dionysus. Anyways, no reason to assume both won't be there, Supergiant said "All the olympians, plus some others" not "All 12 olympians". Even if they had specified 12, hestia could have been one of the others
@@Mattkael Hera is the one who tossed him because he was an ugly baby, and she was disgusted by him. I hope that if they include him they don't make him super attractive.
I wonder if Hestia's Homecoming boon (Death Defiance gives you max health) works with stubborn defiance? If so that could make for a very interesting max health run
It doesn't seem to give max hp. Haelian started Daddy fight with 294 max hp and it did not increase by 30 on either of Death Defiance uses. I think that boon doesn't work or it simply restores more hp than usual 50% but doesn't increase max hp.
I've found that the best way to use Hestia(the boons, not the aspect) is with something like Aspect of Rama along with the boon that makes enemies leave behind lava pools. Eventually you're pulling all of the enemies into one spot, which is directly on top of a giant lava pile.
Really? I feel like Hesti was handcrafted with the Zeus shield in mind. Her special boon lets you get 100% of the shields ticks, and if you spam the zeus special you can keep enemies in the lava pools without the need for the lava attraction boon.
I think the mark duo boon is either glitched or totally busted in power. My suspicion is that it’s supposed to wear off against bosses after 5 seconds, rather than being constantly reapplied.
Zag: kills multiple furies many times, kills a bone hydra, escapes the entire underworld, beats Theseus, the literally almost un-killable hero AND Asterius the bull of minos AT THE SAME TIME, KILLS AN OLYMPIAN WHOS ALSO ONE OF THE BIG THREE, communes with chaos the primordial force, unlocks ancient aspects of hidden all powerful weapons, and managed to become friends and on the good side of almost all the olympians and mend their broken ass family Hera: he dosent seem to be able to do much on his own
I dont know why I don't see anyone doing this but at the end of a Thanatos chamber you can open the codex to let Thanatos do his thing and leave all while pasuing the timer
Its banned in speedrunning because it can be abused heavily, so it's only useful if you're doing extreme heat where the deadline is very close. Not certain why you'd expect me to do it in a run like this lol.
@@officiallance5925 No worries! You can gain some momentum and move across rooms while opening and closing the codex repeatedly, thus pausing the timer and saving small amounts of time. It's definitely not a fun way to speedrun the game, thus why it was banned. But it does technically save time.
So, I've never seen this on literally any other video before, but at 23:39, right where you say, "Can we please, like, get somethin' going on over here?", right as you say the word "somethin", the bubble around the Like and Dislike buttons gets a rainbow shine around it. It repeats every single time if one rewinds and goes past that exact spot. It no longer does it after hitting the like button, though. Kinda neat, actually! I didn't know that effects could be applied to the buttons themselves as reminders to click them.
It might be an AI thing, "make sure you hit/mash/smash the like button." I assume it heard "Button" rather than "Somethin' " and it activated. Haven't seen it anywhere else.
With Curse Slash you don't have to charge up nor are you locked into a position like with Guan Yu. I think Guan Yu would be better is it was health return on kill no matter the attack so long as it came from the spear and the percentage was higher. It would make it a great boss option and a great work around for lasting consequences.
Hephaestus is an Olympian, confirmed. There are, in no particular order: Zeus, Poseidon, Ares, Aphrodite, Athena, Hera, Apollo, Demeter, Artemis, Hermes, Hephaestus, Hestia, Dionysus. Hades CAN technically be considered one of them due to being the brother of Zeus, but his realm is (obviously) very different and therefore technically isn't one of them. His is very iffy
Hate to ask a noon question, but just picked the game up a month ago and learning a lot during the process. Is it possible to get these boons off of a switch dlc or just for pc?
@@Haelian Gotcha, Thank you for the helpful information and great content supporting new players to a great game. I have learned a great deal watching your channel.
I think $45 is perfect for hades 2 it’s not outrageous but it’s deserving, this is one of the best games of all time in my opinion and the fact that they’re continuing the story is awesome, they really want people to enjoy playing a game for hundreds of tracked hours without getting exhausted of the gameplay.
On the topic of new gods being too strong, i think powercreep in a pve game is never as bad as a pvp game. In addition, like Dan said, too easy? dont choose it or crank up the heat. Until people are clearing super high heat all day every day, there is no reason to complain about the game being to easy
To be honest I would rather wait for the official Hera, Hestia, Apollo, etc in the new game, and have the Haelian mod….. can someone please make it happen
What difficulty is this? Where you get new gods. Because I've been playing forever and I've never gotten new gods. But I've never been able to make it to the surface. Because I f****** suck. So that might be a factor.
