I love how they're twisting that scene where Godzilla kills Anguirus (which is officially part of the movie Baz) and going for the whole "he wasn't supposed to bite down onto the actor's head" scenario. Clever
Fun fact: Godzilla biting Anguirus and mutating the actor inside the suit wasn't part of the original script, but the director loved the improvisation so much that he decided to keep it in.
The originally Godzilla suit sounds scary enough on its own. The actor who wore it said it was extremely heavy and he took a thermometer inside one time and it showed 60c. There were lots of instances of him having to be rescued from the suit after fainting and there were several near-death moments with scenes filmed in water.
A lot of the Showa Era films had scuff, as well. IIRC in one of the later films, there was an issue regarding the pyrotechnics displays that lit the head of the Godzilla suit on fire. It was absolutely at it's worst in the OG, but there were a number of mishaps over the years.
@@YgoS.S.O Yeah, Japan had no rubber, improvisation led them to use cement to make the exterior look scaly and believable for a creature like Godzilla. Unsure about Anguirus though.
9:50 The reason that Gojira and Angirasu look like "just two people wrestling" is because during the filming of Godzilla Raids Again (Or in this case Gigantis, the Fire Monster, the US re-release) the crew forgot to set one of the cameras to the proper speed of 72 FPS, instead filming the fighting scenes in real-time. At the time, 72 FPS was used to give off the illusion of the suits being these massive lumbering beasts. Once the real-time footage was reviewed, special effects director Tsuburaya said "The movement's not bad, maybe we can use it." TLDR: Raids Again was a rushed mess, but it was still good
As an advent fan of Godzilla this was creepy asf but as well like this is cool. I love how the creator used actual set photos and stills from the movies but twisted them in a different way
Most of the time during filming, Haruo Nakajima (the man who played Gojira) wore only half of the suit since most scenes only showed either his top or bottom half. This was because Nakajima would get very hot in the suit so they could only film about 2 minutes of footage at a time so that Nakajima wouldn’t pass out. The full body suit was still used in the movie, but was only used in scenes with over 50% of Gojira’s body, so they mostly used the top or bottom half suits.
At 15:58, for a split second, some letters in japanese, (助けて) pop up. I translated them, and I got "Help me", or "help me please". This means that the actor that was morphed into that suit was asking for help, but was getting no answers. Creepy.
What's crazy about this was that the actual Goji suit was incredibly heavy to the point where the actor would pass out multiple times on set. The fact that in this universe a man could constantly wear it without any withdrawal means he's incredibly strong on his own
maybe the suit in this universe is not too abysmal to the pont it would be too heavy or too hot Idk but this is the first time ive seen this so i could be wrong
The “he’s growing the cat eye reflective membrane thingy” is a neat detail because it’s so confounding. How could whatever this suit/the drug/the radiation is doing to him affect his eyes like that?
2:33 Yeah, in his first movie he is said to be a missing link between marine and terrestrial reptiles from the Jurassic Period, that was mutated and deformed by radiation from nuclear testing in the Pacific Ocean.
Im both surprised and extremely happy Baz is giving The Godzilla Suit Incident more exposure as the rest of the videos for this Analog Horror are simply amazing as well!
Godzilla fun facts The ShodaiGoji (54 movie) suit was 6.5ft tall and weighed 200lbs The real Godzilla 54 suit actor was Haruo Nakajima The image at 14:30 is straight up from the Raids Again (55) movie The real Anguirus 55 suit actor was Katsumi Tezuka
If you haven't seen any Junji Ito, try reading "The Enigma of Amigara Fault", one of the more well-known short stories he did. Not long at all but leaves an impression on you. Also, World of Horror just came out, inspired by Junji Ito horror aesthetics, it's a roguelike strategy game I guess you'd call it, and it has a very cool old PC bitmap aesthetic. It's just released in 1.0, after being in early access for 3yrs. Thought you might like it!
I’m glad that unknowingly is a RU-vidr that actually responds to his people and talks with them and unknowingly if your reading this I love your series, I haven’t watched all of it but that because I find it terrifying and that’s how you know it’s the best analog horror out there.
Fun fact, there's an actual phenomena where flesh will fuse with cloth! It's usually from not moving for a very long time, however. There have been people found where you legitimately cannot tell where a couch cushion ends and leg flesh begins. It's also not just cloth, it has even happened with a toilet seat!
This reminds me of an r/nosleep series I read years ago. The gist of it is that a guy bought a realistic "fursuit" that turned out to be cursed. It got fused to him after he put it on and he started acting like an animal
@@ajhendo Unfortunately, no. I went back to try to find it and I'm having no luck, partly bc Reddit's search function is ass and partly bc I don't remember what the series was called. I'm almost certain the title had "fur suit" somewhere in it but maybe my memory is failing me here. I read it at least 5 years ago though, unless I hallucinated the whole thing
@@ajhendo I have a feeling it got deleted or something, bc I ended up finding comments under a totally different (also deleted) nosleep story from 8 years ago that might've been referencing it. I think there was a plot detail about the bear suit making the cursed guy stuck inside of it say things in French, which is honestly weird af and I wish I could reread it
Bit'o'trivia, "Gigantus the fire monster" was a result of some messed up American translation. In Japan, the movie is known as "Godzilla Raids Again" Due to said translation issues "Gojira" (Godzilla's Japanese name) was mistaken to be "Gigantus" Edit: Would love to see you react to the rest, the most recent video (no spoilers) is of the highest quality yet imo
I believe this is based on an actual event where in Florida I think there was a small amusement park and a costume actor started overheating in the suit until he went to the safe room where paramedics would get to him but it took them so long the suit melted into his skin.
@@thatstockin I have found it now and it a myth called costume man but it is very similar to this story in terms of what happened, I forgot it was a myth and I thought it was real
Okay, after watching this with my headphones full blast at half past 11 at night, I think I’m probably gonna go and watch magical mystery tour or something because that was disturbing.
@@monke5250 when you’re scared or disturbed, watch the magical mystery tour movie. You’ll go from scared to crack addict in a second. Would recommend👍👍👍
the trailer voice acting was both a hit and miss back then too. the classic monsters for example none of their trailers had voice overs, and instead relied on music. though i do agree voice over acting back then was so unique and fun
The 2016 movie reboot with the marine soldier who survives to literally everything no matter how hard the big lizard hitted was really damn good, i still remember the promotional videogame for androids phone. Good times
All the suits up until final wars were heavy with animatronic parts making nakajima faint and kenpachiro have trouble breathing with smoke from burning goji and eletrical shocks in water scenes.Thankfully, nowadays, they rub it off like those experiences were nothing instead of getting trauma or any of this fusion with the suit
I kid you not, that Goji video's story sounds damn near like this Iron Man "What If" comic where Tony Stark literally MOLDED into the armor & his Mark 1 armor straight-up becomes his SKIN!
So, Someone just got Springlocked in the Suit while Filming Godzilla. And it does sound like that one Scary Iron Man Comic where Tony was stuck in he Iron Man suit and became one with the suit and Dubbed him a "Walking Flesh" Which his flesh was covered the Suit, Wires entered his Brain and heart and He couldn't take off the suit. Creepy AF stuff. Just like Spider-Man 3's Original Ending. Why did marvel started to do Horror stuff before.
I know this is fiction but what about the dude's family? I know if somebody's loved one got fused to the inside of a Godzilla suit, they'd sue the hell outta that studio.
This is really cool and I like that they pick something and never thought there'd be a ihara series about also your skin can bond to things that is real now you have to stay in one spot and never ever move for like years but yes there are real cases where people skin has bonded to stuff like this so it's honestly not too hard to believe
@@Bazamalam no problem dude btw you pronounced the names right the first time if you have questions on this I can probably answer them because I seen all 36 of them
Low key, reminds of the episode of Ed,Edd, and Eddy, where Ed puts on a monster suit for a horror movie Eddy is trying to shoot for the cul-de-sac...and Ed attacks Edd while the third runs off for something, and sticks him to the wall of his bedroom with sticky, chewed cereal (like in the alien series)
And irl, people fuse into couches and toilet seats. You can look it up, but really, don't look for the pictures. (separating the couch man was lethat for him, toiled lady survived, though deformed)
when I first watched the Godzilla suit incident, it was probably 9 to 10 PM and i cannot even sleep for a while just because of what I saw in the ending of the video, which it makes even more unsettling
The original Godzilla suit was already hard and scary to wear, it was extremely hot inside and it was made using concrete. He would have a risk fainting after 2 minutes of wearing. RIP Haruo Nakijima
This is the first time I found your channel and holy fucking shit, before watching this my body was completely calm initially, but after the whole thing, I’m literally shaking by the fact that these first three videos creeped me tf out. If were the guy who had to take that picture of the thing that was in the Gojira suit, I’d be more than scared shitless, I’d be fucking running for my very life. Edit: also, because this series is clearly very disturbing, I’m going to have to watch the other two videos this playlist waaay later after I’ve recovered from the sheer creepiness of this so that I can still get some sleep tonight.
The whole time I watched the whole series, I was just thinking, "This is either intentionally or unintentionally kinky af." Because it is, and it's slightly difficult to not raise an eyebrow at some of the stuff
All movie trailer announcers in the 90's and early 2000's sounded the same because most of them were actually done by the same guy. Don Lafountaine ( ya know, *deep voice* "In a world that's totally underwater..." that guy.) was the guy that did most trailers for any and everything up until his death in 2008.
3:19 translation from Japanese: Godzilla may be a monster, but i wonder if it's natural for me be that way, and im going to be in this huge number of bodies, so i can become one with him. 15:58 translation from Japanese again: Help me
I'm not sure if everybody experienced this but on the second episode after they reached to the costume part or is it this is what I expected this is what they was yeah the audio just cut off
Me: Hmm, I wonder how this will be like Junji Ito's works? First video description: "I want to be this beast's meat." "I will live inside this beast." Me: Oop, there it is!
Probably a very unpopular opinion but I think these analogue horrors are getting a bit stupid. The plot of this is that... an actor playing godzilla took a drug which just turns him into whatever suit he's wearing? And then bites another dude and this spreads like some sort of zombie virus? I personally didn't find any of this video particularly scary, nor disturbing, nor even interesting. It's just not that good.
If you watch the video, you will see that it was originally thought to be a drug but it turned out that the suit had high levels of radiation which caused the actor to mould to the suit :)
"When they opened the suit there was flesh and blood", "he grew into the suit", "the guy in the suit bit the other out of script and spilled blood all around" for the 'scary' twist parts is what you'd hear in a creepypasta fanfic. It's quite predictable with the ludicrous scenarios that have been played to death regarding familiar characters turned "horror"
