I watched the Salute to the Golden Horseshoe Revue show yesterday on the last day of the Limited Time Magic. It was completely worth it, a real homage to the golden era of Walt's Disneyland.
To give a more accurate viseo portrayal of what this show was about in it's 30 yr. history, watch this only up to the 5 min. mark & then watch the 7 min. video here of Betty live in the show in 85 & then watch Part 4 of this series. I grew up watching Betty & Wally at WDW & find it amazing that they did this show for up to 45,000 performances. Thankfully they were honored with Disney LEGEND awards for their daily/yearly efforts.
It is with sadness that I inform you that Betty Taylor and Wally Boag, both elevated to 'Legend' status, passed away within one day of each other, at ages 91 and 90 respectively. No further details regarding causes of death or survivors have been revealed at this time, but both will be greatly missed.
My friend Tom Mahoney staged and directed this revue, and he was also the choreographer of the original Mickey Mouse Club TV show. I miss you Tommy :-)
