It is one of my favorite praying mantis, it is not only very beautiful, but also super brave. Today, I mainly review the classic pictures, and give the mantis makeup and permanent preservation.
I dont know whether to cry or laugh at this. I never expected you to go to this length to honor/immortalize her legacy. Its beautiful. BTW, after that battle with the house centipide, it took 2 months for her to die?
Are you all serious?! I mean its his fault that the mantis died. And now he's like "i'm sad that she died". You just don't do this to your pets. Even when they are "just" insects. This guy is disturbing. I feel sorry for the animals that have to live with him and don't have a chance to escape.
Keep in mind that the life of a mantis is very short. Some only live a few weeks, others up to 6 months. Who can say whether the mantis died as a result of the centipede bite, or it just reached the end of its life.
Centipedes are highly venomous, to start with. After that, they are strong, fast, aggressive, and have a hard exoskeleton, which provides pretty good protection from several predators. I think their most effective defense is that both ends look like their head, depending on the angle it is viewed from, if a mantis grabs the tail, which appears to happen often, the centipede can curl its head back on the mantis and deliver a killing bite, pretty swiftly.
Nice. Back in the day I also preserved my big black scorpion. The poison I removed from its stinger was bright yellow/green. Even dead it look alive and deadly. I scared may people with it.
