When Matt and the crew pulled the Nugget out of that canyon, I had absolutely no idea how much entertainment I’d get from watching it come back to life. On one hand, I can’t wait to see it finished. On the other hand, I want the restoration to go on forever. HUGE THANKS to all of you for the many hours of fun this has been. ❤️

Love the work. only 1 lil tiny thing that will help in long run. The rear lights you clamped round the body need a rubber seal each side to stop water getting in them and rotting it out. As a bonous, it will also lift them slightly more out of the recess

Over 20 years, Ive found that Lennox StepBits last the longest out of all of them, followed by the DeWalt ones.

Ed is amazing. Last month he and I spoke quite a while in front of the "tow truck. I asked if he had fun riding "that" other rokon back east. He said it was like he never quit riding and he had a ball. Telling old man stories to each other. He inspires me to do more, as I am now 78, so I have to catch up!

I like Ed's stories. Especially, the riding the rokon down a hill with a box of dynamite at night with no lights. Lol

This build has truly been a labour of love, everyone involved in this build should stand with their chest puffed out, from what it was at the beginning to what is now absolutely beautiful. And as far as pulling the wool over Ed’s eyes in hoping to continue on with the surprise, as my own father always says “ just because I don’t say anything, doesn’t mean you got away with it, I just didn’t think it was worth going any further.” Think he knows it’s somewhere on your property now it’s a matter of finding out where. Can’t wait to see it finished up and as tough a guy as he is I’m thinking Ed’s gonna shed a tear

Please put a hidden GPS locator security system in the nugget. It's very famous and plenty of people out there want it. Besides when Ed uses it as intended he may leave it unlocked . 🔓 Everyone is doing so great 👍 👌

Ed is definitely a man's man! That man has worked his tail off for his entire life and never asks for anything or expects anything for free. You guys couldn't be doing this for a more deserving man. I remember when Matt and others could just barely walk into where The Golden Nugget was. I have been watching every episode of everyone who has been working on it and the people who have donated parts for the build. I surely hope the fans will stop dropping by and telling Ed about it. Everyone has put a lot of effort into keeping the secret from Ed. People who are his closest friends who just want this build to be a big surprise for Ed.

Being an electrician, I use step drills a lot to make new, and increase the size of existing holes in electrical enclosures. I'm most familiar with the Greenlee and Klein step bits, found at my local electrical supply houses. Both brands are good, IMO.

Greenlee tools has decent step bits and since they specialize in tools for electrical work, they’re designed to be used and abused in sheet steel.

It is very hard to complain when you see all the work you guys put down in this project, but give the nugget it's eyes back! Please!

Love how it’s coming along! Just a heads up, I can’t see if it ya’ll have something to protect it but you might want to have a cloth or padding when resting the hood on the top of the windshield panel.

Amazing seeing it all come back together…Great Team Golden Nugget effort! I would love to see a calculation of how many hours went into this from recovery to returning to Ed…and can’t forget the hour that went into the Rokon and custom trailer…Hard to fathom it all.

Looking great, but I didn't see or hear you talk about adding gaskets to the rear lights that you had to split apart.

It's amazing how adding the finishing touches (winch, LED headlights, etc.) makes it look so much better! It is this point in a big project I start just wanting it done. Doing great work!

I personal think you guys should go ahead and make the reveal to Ed. I don't know how old or young Ed is but if it were me I'd like to be able to enjoy The Golden Nugget for as long as possible and just knowing how much love a effort you all have put into it, well need I say, Ed is very loved by all. Give Ed his joy! Love watching your adventures.

I use the lock tite automotive super glue for everything. Holds super strong and works great for closing cuts when you're working on oily or wet stuff and bandaids won't stay on.

I did post this on Layton‘s channel, but I guess I should’ve realized you would be the one doing accessories. First off, I know Ed is an old man and he would chort at the idea of AC, but those things are hot boxes. I should know, I had a hard samurai with no AC and it was not fun to drive when it was hot. I know you guys probably don’t see the temperatures as high or as long as we do, but I would most definitely make sure that there was someway to move some air in there in. Maybe a ceiling mounted fan that he could point in his direction when he is not going at highway speeds? The other way to help lower the cabin temperatures is some kind of material on the floorboard in the front and perhaps on the firewall. I am seriously not kidding, you could bake a cake and those things in the summertime. I also think a Jerry can mounted on the exterior would be a nice touch as well. If he plans on going out deep in the woods, he would always have some extra gas as long as he didn’t forget to fill it. I like with what you did with the HIDs, that would help a great deal deep in the woods. And of course I’m sure you have already thought about this, but a CB radio is a must

Ed is a really lucky man and blessed. He has lived such a life that he has made so many lifelong friends that he has a whole family here. I am jealous and happy for this old-timer. It makes me smile every time I see videos from all the people working on all of this. Someday, maybe I'll know the joy of such friendships. Prayers, Praise, and Grace, all of you wonderful people.

I've been using that baking soda trick for about 40 years. It is very handy. You can even build it up and sand it.
