3 weeks ago, you just choose Insta360 one X2 as your best action camera for 2022. After using the new Insta350 One RS, do you still prefer X2 if you have to choose only one action camera with you for the next trip. So good. Love your review. Thanks.
I wanted a better quality 360 camera. Love the Insta360 OneX2 be the footage isn't 5.7k when reframed, more like 1080P. I was hoping we would get a better 360 camera but I'm yet to see a difference. I know you said the processing is better, I would love to see what the equates to when we compare the OneRS against say the OneX2 or GoPro 360
I have a video suggestion. Can you please do a video on ‘Understanding Camera Specs’? Shopping for a camera can be a little confusing because there’s so many specs and it’s unclear what each of them indicates. I really enjoyed your Photography Basics in 10 minutes video, and I love your teaching style on complicated topics like this. So it would be great to see a video about understanding camera specs.
Love your videos, I learn so much. But for those of us not into action stuff, I'd appreciate if you could do a video on a camera for birds and wildlife in the backyard. Trail cameras seem to be too low quality, and phone camera requires you to be present, and action cameras overheat quickly if motionless. Would love to know what you would do for a backyard wildlife camera. I got a GoPro 10 and returned it right away. The images looked like they were way off in the distance. I had a remote control so I could turn the camera on while in the house, so I didn't bother wildlife, but as I said the image was way too distant.
I'm always learning new things on how you structure your videos everytime you upload as well as delivering super informative reviews. Although I have no use for this type of cam at the moment watching this certainly educated me if ever comes a time I need to pull a trigger on one. Killer content as always David.
@@DavidManningvlog Oh man! So nice of you to say that - means alot coming from you bro! Thanks! Just in the process of relocating to China, currently holed up in an isolation hotel - hope to be back creating soon. Thanks again Dave, I've learnt so much from you. Take care mate. 😊
Hey David, are you able to share the taking footage out of the camera and into the PC for editing? I read somewhere that this RS version allows direct transfer without going through the Insta360 app which means lesser step. This is the primary reason I never consider Insta360 cameras because of this extra step in the past. Thanks mate!
Great eye! My pre-production unit had a few moments where the stitch line wasn't perfect, but with the production firmware that was released for it, they've almost entirely gone away. All 360 cams will have a bit of struggle stitching in certain situations, but this one is for sure doing the best I've seen. Pretty sure that's chalked up to the new core mod👍
The waterproofing is really solid! The key is to always keep it in the cage while you're in the water. Then afterwards, rinse with fresh water and dry with a towel before breaking the mods apart. Breaking apart the mods while wet is the only time you really need to be concerned👍
Nicely done, as you sit there saying to all that maybe there should be both a front and rear screen, well why not make a New 4K boos which they did and add a screen to that, and when you want a front abd back you got it, and to top this off, turn the two screen to the back to make a WIDE screen who cares if there is a line you at least now got Double the relaestate. Done
Would love a comparison of this vs the One X2 as a 360 camera and vs the Gopro Hero 10 as a action camera. Looking to film a little of both so hoping this would be decent at both. Thanks! love the channel
I am really excited about this camera for some reason. I have wanted to try a One R for some time now, but this new version may have put it over the edge for me. But the most important for me is that you continue to have some of the BEST reviews on RU-vid. By far, you are the best at talking about the technical parts, and describing things.
Ah, you're a legend Milledge, thank you! If the ONE R was temping you and you almost bought it, then the ONE RS is for sure the camera to get you to pull the trigger! Once you get a 360 camera in general, you'll have your mind blown every time you go out to film!
I know I watched this when the video first came out, but I finally pulled the trigger and purchased the One RS as my first 360 camera. I cannot wait to hop on my longboard or blades and have a first go!
I’m looking at buying a action cam for family days out. At first I was just going to buy a GoPro, as I’ve had one before. Then I came across the Insta360 cameras 😁. I see that one of your favourite cameras is the one x2. I love the look of the 360 videos but will probably want a standard view also, I know the one x2 will also offer this but am I thinking the one rs twin pack a better option for me. Is the 360 no different on both cameras. If not the one rs twin pack is the better buy right?. Great videos, well entertaining.
Man, sounds like the ONE RS would be perfect for your setup then Nicky! You're exactly right that the 360 on the ONE RS is the same as the ONE X2, but on the ONE RS you still have the option to switch over to the 4K Boost lens or 1" mod. It's a pretty killer setup and I think for most people, it's the route to go. You can still shoot standard view videos when you want less editing and a quicker workflow, but you have that option to get some just bananas shots!
Yeah, no action camera does great when going in and out of water, but the sponge in there won't hold water. It's a porous sponge, so should disperse water decently👍
Good first look. They really seem to have improved on a good camera. Can you say if the camera works connected to a powerbank, to record let's say 2 straight hours of a motorcycle ride?
You’d suggest this over one x2 for a vlogging camera (I’ve got additional cameras for b-roll and interviews)? I’m not sure i need 360 in my life, but it sure seems like it’ll make things easier and way more fun 🥳
Tough call on this or the ONE X2! They're both incredible 360 cameras, but the ONE RS also gives you the option to add on the 4K mod or 1" mod, as well as stays future proof going forward. If they come out with new lenses, you can swap those in without having to buy a whole new camera. So that's pretty solid!
Hi. I don't see much advantage to mounting my Leica 1-inch mod to the One RS core. No active HDR for the Leica Mod, but it does exist for the 4k boost mod. That being stated, many camera stores are selling the One R 1-inch bundle, and others are selling the One RS 1-inch bundle for around $125 more. What's the point? I only shoot with the 1-inch mod, and I want a tandem of 2 cameras. Can you talk me into spending the extra $125 and buying the One RS 1-inch mod for $549 vs the One R 1-inch for $425?
The Leica mod will still always be the king. That's rocking a 1" sensor vs the 4K mod 1/2" sensor. For sure pros and cons to both, but for me the one inch mod is the best for quality👍
The ONE X2 is an incredible camera! If you were to buy this camera, then I would say just to get the 4K mod version. You already have a super dope 360 camera with the ONE X2!
Man that footage was super clean! But please help me with which one is better this one or the one X2? I have a big trip coming up and I would like to know which to look into more. Thanks!
That is such a tricky question! I feel like that topic might need its own video to explain my thoughts. BUT, I would say that if you're looking for one system to do it all, then go for the ONE RS. But if you already have an action camera like a GoPro or DJI and you're just looking to add 360 to your bag, then go for the ONE X2👍
in my understanding, only the 4k lens mod had an upgrade? The 360 and 1 inch is the same? For example, if you already bought the twin edition before for the R, you only need to buy the 4k edition for the RS (if you plan to upgrade)?
Love the honest first look, David! Definitely appreciate hearing both pros and cons. I've been wanting a 360 cam for a while now so this is very intriguing compared to the X2!
@@ArcticExploring So do you think he’s being dishonest with the insta360 because he’s has an early review unit? I felt like it was a pretty unbiased review but I’m curious on your thoughts?
@@Frank343k Wait a few weeks until ordinary people get their unit. Have you ever tried any insta360 cameras? I have the older version of this and have a hate/love relationship with it.
@@ArcticExploring What do you love/hate about it? I’m in no rush, so I’m happy to wait, but I don’t know what “regular people” I’d look to get information from.
@@Frank343k With regular people, I mean people that try it out in real life and show all the good and bad things about a camera. What I love is the video quality and that you can change later in post if you want wide, linear etc. But that is also what I hate, that you have to use the software for Insta360 to work with the files before you can import them to your favorite editor. Also I doesn't like that the camera is so slow working with. If you record for like 30 minutes, it takes minutes for it to save the file after since it doesn't split up the files to 4GB files, but create a big 40GB file or something. I'm used to use DJI Osmo Action, and it is really easy to use and fast + more. When I bought my Insta360 last year, I regret it after a week and bought Gopro 10. But I think Insta360 cameras are good as a second camera, since you doesn't need to record so big files with it.
Hey David, I would love to see a comparison between the RS and the X2. I like the modularity of the RS, but the X2 was better than the R. I’m curious to see the audio and video comparisons.
Oh boy, warm up that text machine of yours and let the questions roll in !! Correct me if I'm wrong but the 360 and the 1 inch lens mod have not changed at all, right? So if I put the 1 inch mod or 360 mod from my One R onto the new core mod and I will get all the new benefits of the new camera, correct?
@@DavidManningvlog That is SO huge to do for the consumer!! Insta360 should be applauded for doing that. For a small upgrade fee I can get new hardware but still use some old stuff too... Is GREAT!! Tell Insta360 that for me too, they should know who I am... I bought a One R once, they'll remember me!
Thanks as always David! I laughed out loud when the razor came out. Wasn't expecting that. Nice! I have a GoPro, but you always make me wish I had an Insta360. Is snugger a word? Haha... 🤔
hey David, thanks for your informative video. I am currently looking for my first 360 camera. But I don't really know which one to choose. Currently my setup consists of the gopro Hero 8 and gopro Hero session from back in the day. the logical option would be a gopro Hero Max but this one is already quite old. would you wait for the gopro hero max 2 or buy a 360 camera from the competition. If yes which one? Greetings from Belgium!
I’d really love to see an in-depth review of the 360 mod vs the GoPro Hero Max. I have been eyeing the Max for a while now, and then this camera came out and I’m not sure which to go with.
Hi David... Once again great review and information... I have been using the One R One for a year and love it... now with your insight I cannot wait to get the new RS Core...thanks Larry
i love the modularity of the camera, i do want to know more about the mic adapter i saw in a few previous online. as a motovlogger, i usually record audio into the camera while riding to streamline the process.
I have a question about the insta306 Go 2, I use the hat mount on a good quality elastic band from One of those hiking lights. Do you think the magnet is strong enough to hold in the mount if I used it on a roller coaster? Just want your opinion or any ones else. Who knows maybe someone out here has done it.
I so need to get a 360 been on my list for a while since we do so many adventures. We have a 2-week epic ski trip planned next year so I will somehow get one before then. Our GoPro (which is our main camera) sucks for skiing. haha
Good stuff! Don't know what 'boost' (4K boost) means as I undertstood they were/are all 4K! BUT more than anything, I wish I could find someone to explain what output (Wireless or wired) I cab get from this and can it (resonably) feed ANY VTX/Digital Air Unit to tranmit to ANY 9DJI digital or analogue) goggles! (With 'acceptable' latency for modest 20-40km/h flights with minimal objects that need avoiding!)!
Thanks, David. I really appreciate your expertise, energy and enthusiasm. You'll help me become a better motovlogger someday. This camera looks amazing. I have a Hero 8 now that works great. I've been thinking about having a second camera for different angles, etc. My decision just got more difficult. This camera, the One X2 or another GoPro.... it's a good problem to have.
