The GOOD and the BAD - My Audi S4 B9 

To choose things that I didn’t like about the car was hard, maybe I was being a bit picky with that. It’s definitely not the worst thing!

Tried that with the seatbelt, didn’t make a difference. The reason for no satellite view for maps is because the licence runs out after 3 years. I’m not sure why we should rest on the gear selector to use the scroller, personally feel it should be the other way around.

​@@JAYPCARS Hairy muff....but the seatbelt one must work, i mean it just pushes the buckle up to the top and it simply cannot knock, yours must be different maybe, the Audi mmi vid actually shows the driver resting wrist on top of gear selector when using mmi, the flat design was made like that so you could do this, i find it most comfortable....but each to his own, maybe i have longer fingers...lol....gonna cry when mine goes, love my B9...can't think what i will replace it with, such an ace all round car and effin fast!

It doesn’t seem to stop it, I wonder if the belt is too loose for some reason. Interesting, didn’t know that, i just feel relaxing your arm on the rest you would more naturally reach the scroller if it was swapped. Overall it’s a great car, fast, practical, holding a fair bit of value, looks great - look forward to modifying it in the future!

@@JAYPCARS the seat belt buckel retainer might be loose. Try moving the buckle to the upper position and pressing the retainer firmly to tighten it. My 2019 s5 sportback is solid no rattle what so ever in the interior. I heard 2018 US version has bad quality maybe because its just the first few years it comes out.

@@lpmax3991 I’ll take a look into tightening it, unfortunately not the only rattle but tightening would mean one less. It’s strange as some people say plagued with rattles, others say none at all!

My USB cable was directly from Audi when I purchased the car so should be high quality 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yes for a premium car, a rattle that is pretty much constant is a massive shame! Glad to hear you don't have any others though!

Thanks Andrew, appreciate the feedback! Yes I was quite shocked when I got over making the loud pedal shout for the first time and started to listen to the interior - there is always a buzz/tick/rattle going on. It's a shame - but at least the good outweighs the bad!

@@JAYPCARS I've had my S4 for 2 years, not a single rattle. I test drove 6-7 S4s before I bought mine and no rattles. Take it back to the dealer and have them fix it. Also you have the standard rims, 18" i believe, the 19" fills the wheel arch a lot more.

Hi! When I first got the car I asked on the Facebook pages for the S4 B9 and it ended up with a massive comment section with probably 80% of people saying they had issues with rattling. Many of them resorted to pulling the door cards and using soundproofing to help reduce the rattling. Some said they keep the passenger seatbelt plugged in to stopped that rattling too. The alloys on mine are 19” 10 V-spoke design, with diamond cut surface which is already failing 😢.

You are more than welcome! Yes I did, they come with some 3M tape and some screws. The screws tbh would have just eaten up the original paddles so I used just the tape. I think it was just on eBay for around £15 - you can get some lovely black aventador(?) ones but they are like £250 when I looked!

@@Rhowhat Sorry dude, comments aren't coming up on my phone! Yes I think so, you'd carefully lever off - maybe even heat it up a bit (with a hairdryer etc). There doesn't seem to be a click, it's quite a soft pull towards you.

Seconded. I have one and plug the seatbelt in when no one is in the passenger seat. I have an occasional creak from around the 12v socket but I can't hear it over music, just talk radio. Happy with mine, also surprised by the economy on the motorway.

I don't tend to plug it in, but as soon as I hear it smashing around I wish I had! With mine switching the music up just amplifies the rattling in the passenger door. What do you average long term with the car? Its decent if in economy and on motorway - usually around 30mpg - but my long term is 19.3 over 8000m.

@@JAYPCARS my car is at 28mpg over 26000 miles. My last airport run was 38mpg, just sat at 70 with the adaptive cruise on.

@@Rhowhat Wow, mine is at 19.3mpg - best was 34 I think. I'm always in Dynamic Sport though!

Yes no USB for me! I do have 2 under the armrest though 😂 Yeah I’ve read that some people will just keep that belt plugged in to stay sane 😂

This is the first Audi I’ve driven that really rattles. I soon asked other owners and they said they experienced a lot of rattles in their S4s. It’s a brilliant car, but I will sort the rattles at some point. It makes a solid car feel cheap.

@@mikechang4669 Strange, I think from doing some more research it seems to be a game of chance, reading through some forums from 2017/18 lots saying about rattles and others saying they have none.

@@JAYPCARS My S4 avant is completely rattle free, and build like a tank, apart from the knocking passenger seat belt on the sports seat. Epic car, just love it.

@@philgoodson2803 I'm getting a mix of rattle comments with some people saying lots and others little to none - I wonder if it was a specific timeframe when they were built and they rattled more and it was then put right on the production line? :)

The RS is another monster altogether, an extra turbo, extra 100 odd bhp and a real menacing look. The RS5 is a beautiful car, but for me I’d have the RS4 - I like estates and how useful they are. But I wouldn’t want to pay the extra insurance, repairs and servicing.
