Spock wrestles with his human emotions and embraces his friendship with Kirk and the crew. MP3: itunes.apple.c... Help us caption & translate this video! amara.org/v/fUXL/
Counter-Weight Medias I have not. I mostly watched the movie because it was on Netflix and it had Hugo Weaving (and I knew about Guy Fawkes because of Paddington) but I've heard good things about the novel. I love The Killing Joke, so I'd like to check out more of Alan Moore's work
I think it's awesome that Nimoy wrote 2 autobiographies... 1975's "I am not Spock", when he was having trouble maintainin his own independent identity, and then 1995's "I am Spock", when he realized how much the character had opened up his world.
The greatest lesson of Spock and Kirk - Friendship can leap beyond philosophical divides, religions, histories, societies, genders and even species. Friendship is one of the universe's greatest gifts.
+themaster408 I actually had a friend take his own life a few months ago. This makes me think of him for some reason and makes it even more important for me.
One with DeForest Kelley focusing on his quote " In this galaxy, there's a mathematical probability of three million Earth-type planets. And in all of the universe, three million million galaxies like this. And in all of that... and perhaps more, only one of each of us."
" Only one of each of us.... absolutely true". How wonderful this particular group of individuals were brought together and gave us something we'd cherish for so long
I cried for three days when this wonderful old man passed. I knew him from my sixteenth year. He was a sweet, intelligent, gentle, giving, generous, and funny man. Part of me died with him.
I still grieve that he's gone. Love Mr. Nimoy. Spock was a brilliant and profound character and so iconic. Shatner is the last of the three amigos. I'm going to cry, like I did with Nimoy, when he passes, but I hope it's not soon.
"Star Trekkin' across the universe, On the Starship Enterprise under Captain Kirk. Star Trekkin' across the universe, Only going forward 'cause we can't find reverse."
I watch this and for the briefest of time Leonard is alive in front of my eyes again and though I never met the man: He has been and ever shall be my friend.
When the emotional side of your mind betrays you, then listen to the logical side. Your pain does not define you. You are in control. Your pain does not... must not... control you. Pain is a thing of a mind. The mind can be controlled. Your pain can be controlled, mitigated. Don't let your pain stop you from achieving greatness. Master your pain, be in control! There will come times that we think... that our needs do not matter. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. We forget that we need to take care of ourselves also. Sometimes we just need to be reminded... that sometimes, the needs of the one outweigh the needs of the many. Sometimes we just need to be reminded that we matter too.
No statement however compelling is an absolute. The need of the one outweighs the need of the many, yet without Spock, the light of the stars burn dimmer. We are diminished by the loss. The world depends on the deeds and compassion of others. Sometimes there are things worth fighting for. Sometimes the many must sacrifice to preserve something dear, even if it is a singular being. We are made greater by individuals of heroic proportions.
I used to watch it all the time if I had time after school and a few years ago I watched it all again. I always liked it thankfully it is nit associated with any outside influences. It was a childhood experience.
Absolument magnifique .
Actually in computer science there's a tool called Spock which allows us to write logical tests for computer programs (thus why it was called Spock). So it truly lives forever ☺
I have been..and always shall be: Your Fan ;) I LOVE YOU. THANK YOU. YOU HAVE SAVED ME A THOUSAND SORROWS And helped to (re)open the World to me. THank you for this Tribute to Mr. Nimoy
How sexy, beautiful, gorgeous is this voice - 0:19!!! It was so deep when he was in his 30's (when he appeared in TOS). There will never be a more gorgeous, iconic voice like this again! LLAP!
There had never been a character that fit me as a person with ASD growing up until i realized Spock was that person. The more i delved into how he was always concentrated on being focused on the objectives at hand and how other people thought he was heartless and carefree he was putting his best foot forward and wanted to be the voice of reason for his crew members from Kirk to Scotty he did care but just in his own way. I too used to have that problem of not processing things the natural and balanced way of thinking. Having met Mr.Nimoy before he passed on definitely is a memory I'll forever cherish but I just wish I could have thanked him.
I love both of the axioms: 1.The needs of the many outweigh the need of the few 2. The needs of the one outweighs the needs of the many. Logic and emotion axioms!!
R.I.P. Spock, he was really awesome, and with Kirk they were fantastic! Leonard was a really amazing actor that's why he pleyed Spock omg really exciting person LLAP
melodysheep - this is a gorgeous tribute to Leonard Nimoy, the beautiful and beloved Mr. Spock! We're all lucky to have known of the beautiful and awesomely talented Leonard Nimoy. RIP and LLAP Leonard!
Very well done. Loved this video. Really speaking. Leonard Nimoy shared Spocks Katra. And it never dies. He may have passed beyond the great barrier, but his Katra lives on in our memories. REMEMBER!!
I was sadly mekking along today because my heart had taken a little hit. Then I saw this wonderful video and went all fangirl! Like I was 13 again. "I am a Vulcan; bread to peace..." goosebumps making, deep and resonate. The need of the one sometimes is enough to run through fires for; to climb fearful heights for; to lay down and die for. Ask any mother from any species on earth. -The high priestess' assistant
This was an Incredible Masterpiece for Spock My All Time Favorite Character In The Star Trek Franchise. Spock is My All Time Favorite Role for The Late Leonard Nimoy (1931 - 2015) My Third Favorite Actor.
How could anyone dislike a video that beautifully embodies and encompasses the tribute to a wonderful man? Sometimes I just can't understand people's logic. -_-
His final front-ear, the one you can't see yet sense is there all along. The front-ear that is vast, dark inside the canal, yet full of light. Only WE are the ones who should listen to what the front-ear is telling us about Spock's vision of what humanity is, what challenge it faces, and how much we can overcome. It goes by logic, but does not judge. We are the ones to interpret for ourselves what his front-ear is sending us as a message of hope. His front-ear, his human/Vulcan heart, poses the question. What, you ask, is the question? Answer within, and you will find out. To live long and prosper is, for now, the only thing logical we can do... to honor him.
I was very young when Star Trek 1st release way back then to be old enough to have the wonder of this new world I am in and outer space and what could be 'out there' Lost in Space was another. The joy to be a young child full of wonder of what is 'out there'
This video is an amazing tribute, in that it makes you realize Spock transcends time, a classic of science fiction, that he's not really gone as we've found a way to remember him.
