I used to had a love hate relationship with this movie things I do hate in this film is Carrie fisher don't hate on me for dislike this film(I lived in Evanston IL) but I do really like it now I like the bluesmobile and the car chase and car crashes and the music and I do hate Illinois Nazis.
It is!!! Still use it to this day. The other one is when the tanker truck is late and Elwood says "I guess we'll have to wait" . The gas station owner just answers "Nyah". Still cracks me up.
The Good Ole Boys was going to kill them for stealing a $200 gig ($700 today)...and they arrived late when everyone cleared out. The Blues band basically ran up a $1000 bar tab, lol.
"You're gonna look funny eatin' corn on the cob without NO FU**ING TEETH" HAHAHAHA !!!!! 😅😅😅😆😆😆😆😆😆 R.I.P. Charles Napier. A perfect choice for the role. Good in Star Trek (original) too. He delivered the line PERFECTLY !!!!
And the thing is, this was one of the few roles where he's not a mean tough guy, he was a great actor no matter what role he played, I bet off camera he was probably one of the nicest people around
Cop 1: "I don't believe it, it's that shitbox Dodge again" Cop 2: "The bastards are ours now" *takes off after The Blues Brothers and smashes straight into Bob and The Good Ole Boys* 😂😂😂😂
That part always gets me where Bob and the Good Ole Boys chase the Blues Brothers - twice! Note the four silhouetted heads of the band members riding topside in the upper compartment of the motorhome while Charles Napier is below in the cab riding shotgun with Bob.
GREAT CLIP !!!! 😆😆😆😆😆😆 For me, the scenes with The Good Ole Boys (and Bob) are the funniest scenes of the movie. Charles Napier (lead singer) is GREAT and VERY convincing. Awesome selection of cast. 😁😁😁👍👍👍
Fun fact: The can of "isopropanol butane monosulphate" Elwood takes out of his bag at 3:18 had much more significance in the original release, it's now a deleted scene (you can find on YT) Elwood worked at a factory that made the cans, he steals one then goes into his boss's office and says he wants to quit. When asked why he says he's "becoming a priest" and his boss happily lets him quit and says he'll get his pay and papers all sorted. Elwood replies with "god bless you" and walks out leaving his boss extremely pleased to have been blessed by a soon-to-be priest. It's a shame they took it out. The deleted scene in question: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fSpmzz_a7m8.html
Get a hold of the novelization if you can. There's even more detail about Elwood's knowledge of explosives and pilferage from his employer. The novelization was based on Aykroyd's original screenplay and each Blues Brother was found in a different place. If memory serves, Blue Lou was working as a security guard at a housing development, basically a giant construction site. The whole band convened there and practiced before the gig, trashing one of the homes in the process. In the end, Elwood and Duck blow the place up and then Blue Lou runs a bulldozer over the whole thing.
knowing it's a Ford, it must've had a 428 PI (Police Interceptor). my grandpa had one with the engine swapped for a 428 Police Interceptor out of a wrecked detective's car. xD
Bob: "What the hell are you guys all dressed up for?" Tucker McIlroy: (angrily) "We're the Good Ole Boys!" Bob: (confused) "YOU'RE the Good Ole Boys?! Then that means I've been tricked!"
Most of which were bought at auction from California. The real life Illinois State Police would be using the 1977 Plymouth Gran Fury, it’s mid-size brother the Fury & Dodge’s 1977 Monaco (mid-sized like the Fury.) if the movie team had to use the 'actual' cars
Not awesome, people worked hard to put them cars together and materials got wasted all to make a movie that done well for like a year and then was forgotten about. A complete waste.
My name is Jacob Stein *flashing pack of cigarettes* The American Federation of Musicians Union Local 200. I’ve been sent here to see if you gentlemen are carrying your permits?
Even back then I understood as a kid that if you get a sticky gas pedal, put the damn vehicle in Neutral gear right away and use the emergency brake!😂😂😂
Why did Jake even go talk to them in the first place? He and Elwood could've just got in the car, drove away, and never would've had to deal with them, or Bob. Don't get me wrong, it's hilarious watching them get flipped into a fire hydrant, and driving their RV through a boathouse into a lake, but still.
One thing I could never about Bob is how could he mistake the Blues Brothers for a country and western band. They’re not dressed like a country and western band and the first song they start playing is a r and b song. That right there was clues one and two.
