The place I went to was in business for 4 years, works with hair transplant clients, and has great reviews. $800 first session, $600 second session, and $500 for third. Prices are reasonable, but he did a great job and is very skilled at what he does and even fixed a previous smp done poorly. He and his partner are one of the few companies that will do a density fill, most just do bald.
Thanks for the video man. I'm considering getting this done, I have dense existing hair and had a HT to take me from Norwood 3 to around 2. I'm looking to have the transplant area on the temples SMP'd to give illusion of better density. Overall the HT was a good result but my scalp can be visible when my hair is short in natural light and the contrast betwen that and my natural hair is a bit off. Does your hairline area look natural or are the SMP dots very noticeable? I'm really happy with the HT result but would love more density, just afraid of going too far and having a very noticeable and dotted looking result. Thanks!
Luke thanks for the great comment and question, sorry for late response. Yes the SMP will make your HT look more dense. The great part is because it is done in stages you can choose when you like the darkness. Most people will have to get anywhere from 2 to 5 sessions to get the darkness they want.
The reason they use ink that will fade is because the ink will eventually(after years) migrate together forming a Lego head. This avoids that concern. You can just do the new dots over the old.
Hi. Thanks for sharing. I recently had 4 sessions. Like you I had a HT and leave my hair shot but never shaved down. Are the pics at the end after your 4th session? And is that the most dense thry could go? My result looks similar to your under lighting where I can still see some scalp and was wondering if more density could still be achieved or is this normal and as good as it will get. Thank you!!
Hey Michael i am sorry for late response. I have been away from youtube for awhile. It sounds like we have a lot in common concerning our hair adventures:). I want to say thanks for the great comment you posted.
I am very interested in SMP however looking into the inks used, although it is labelled organic pigments they contain carcinogenic ingredients and some heavy metals. Do you know much on this topic? As I am interested in finding a ink that is safe.
I don't know much about heavy metals but I would not put to much attention to the fact that it is carcinogenic because a looooot of things are considered carcinogenic such as coffee or even sunlight.
Hello no sorry I do not know a lot about the ingredients in the pigments, I do know every SMP artist says their pigment is the best. God luck with your search:)
If this concerns you find pigments made in Europe. EU is the strictest in the world for pigment manufacturing. I personally only use Beauty Medical brand pigment. Each order I get from them comes with a Lab Certification (ISO9000 Lab), plus full ingredient list and toxicology breakdown. It's also approved for use on pregnant women. Don't get caught up on the label "organic." This just means it is a carbon-based pigment.
Hello no the needle does not go deep enough to damage the follicle. I will say you might notice slight hair loss in the first month as a result from the scalp trauma but the hair will grow back after the first month. This is common and this also happens if you get hair transplants. Any trauma to the scalp will cause temporary hair loss. This scares a lot of people when this happens but trust me the hair always grows back.
Wow I have never heard of anyone charging that much for SMP. If you see someone charging that much run.. 2000 to 5000 dollars is the ball park of what you could expect to pay , depending on how much of your head needs to be done and the experience of the person doing it.
