Biggest annoyance is no way to quick swap a paragon tree like you could previously. Now I have to go save a paragon tree to the armory OR you have to get the Pack Mule pet. Why take that away?
I use almost the same build as you but with the Hurricane Hitch off-hand essence for Crosswinds instead of Cyclone's Call, it's like a Gloom gem effect that works even when you are surfing and attacking, no need to channel.
The devs should have let us save different paragon builds for quick and easy switching between builds. I switch regularly and quite often between pve and pvp and with the new system you have to click 12 times to switch between paragon builds where before it took only one click. The devs need to be shamed for this step backwards.
Before you could save paragon trees without assigned points which was better. Now you have to overwrite every build in your Wardrobe every new paragon skill you unlock otherwise those points get refunded.
Yes... Helliquary Hell III bosses are a cakewalk more so than pre-update, but Gauntlet Hell III Advanced (a.k.a. the formerly G6) is still a bich... if not more difficult than before. Not complaining, but rather just informing.
I can definitely vouch for the "new player benefit" being a new player to Diablo as a whole myself. I was pushing hard to catch up to my warband for the simple fact of being around the same level. Post update I can see a sense of party requirements in things like dungeons. Conclusion for me is it will create a larger player base at the mid to top end provided the community stays positive about the game 😊
I purchased that skin and it works - that being said, I hate the fact that they are just modifying colors on older skins and reselling them to us. Similar to the past phantom mad king skin. I feel like they’re being lazy.
As I've written on WhyTry's discord, the big CR slice is ridiculous. The most difficult of difficulties having monster CR of 22.5k when all end-game players are around 35k? Dungeons in Hell 3 are at 21.5k CR? This is also not a design choice made by NetEase. This is too close to the intellectual property, so this is a Blizzard decision, probably by the game designer himself. I got no issues developing new features to make new players catch up more easily. But I don't want the faithful and loyal players to be removed of the entertainment of the game. I can stand near a Raid boss Hell 3 without using any skills and he's dead. Where's the fun in that? Where the entertainment value? I play the game as I want some enjoyable challenges to test my skills and finesse. The new easy mode has removed that part of the game. The game offers me nothing but yawns now. The only challenge still in the game is PvP. And this could very well be the underlying reason for this whole change. Blizzard wants the loyal long-time players to spend more money. So they force us to play PvP or quit the game. And we all know PvP is just a comparison of how much money each team has spent. This patch makes it intriguing for new players to play a bit, and makes loyal players leave the game as it has become too dumbed down and too boring without any challenges. The new class is alright, I guess. But I got VERY upset that the game prevented me from reading skill descriptions in both the story quest and the test dungeons. I had no idea what the skills did or what effect they had. The skill menu was blocked. How are we supposed to learn about the new class if the information is blocked? It's like they force us to go through class change. It's like paying a few million bucks for a new house without seeing it, without knowing the square feet size, without knowing how many floors, without knowing what city it's in. All you get it what colour it has. I won't be participating in such a house transaction, nor will I be playing the Tempest for as long as Blizzard are trying to hide what the skills do from us. As you can already tell, I'm hugely disappointed by this patch - as well as the last three patches. This game is not entertaining anymore, and the changes are always made to hurt or nerf the loyal players. A company treating loyal customers that way will no longer be getting to call me their customer.
I agree. I played the game for almost 2 years and now I went to Diablo 4, as the game has some challenge. I still prefer Immortals systems (matchmaking for activities, raids and Essences), but the game is very boring now without challenge 😢
And as for the solution ECHO brought up about change class when the game becomes too boring; Blizzard have removed that aspect too. Anyone with 30k CR or more doesn't need a build to one-shot any monster. Doesn't matter which skill you use. You don't even need to use skills. You'll just turn your gaze in the general direction of a mob and they die instantly. The fun of trying to find the best build is gone when builds doesn't matter anymore.
As a total noob, who just started to play 6 days ago, i went after the patch now from 6 k to 19 k combat rating. The only annoying thing was when i had to do that raid boss that needed like over 14k while i only had 12k to get more than 99 paragon points. But after asking at reddid i really just asked in the world chat for help, and somebody nice pulled me through that. Then the next shock was, that even with 14k i was one-shotted by trash mobs in the dungeons on Hell 2, and i couldn't even leave the dungeon since a wolf spawn camped me and directly killed me again and again when i revived. And since you can't do anything when dead .. i could just terminate the game and wait for a while .. something they really should fix. Then i took a look at the dungeon, and i saw the need 14.820 CP and it seems if you are red you are dead .. not just weaker but its as if you go in ther as a level 1 .. trash one-shots you .. simple as that 😟 Whatever, i now was even axxepted bei a Hell 3 warband, they needed me as filler for all the raids, and so i can now even go to Hell 3 .. but i don't do that of course, but good to have that also unlocked since that is the next gate at 200 paragon now i think. Oh .. what i also found confusing and annoying was, that in Hell 1 there were only P 280 players in the random dungeons, and i just had no chance to do more than trying to follow them as fast as possible. I mean, didn't all those guys couldn't play hell 2 or even 3 already ? Or is there any reason why they prefer 1 ?
Hey ECHO! I honestly can say that the new update overall is a positive thing. I was hesitant at first and got used to the old ways. But change is good! The overall feel of the game feels better. Yes helliquary seems a little easier than I recall, but it’s nice to be able to solo a lot of the things I wasn’t before. PvP seem very balanced now, not going up against a whale spender and being run through. They have definitely done a great job there. The new class tempest is actually a lot of fun but only thing I wish blizzard could change is the fact that they need to take away class bound cosmetics. Why have the change system if we can’t use our existing cosmetics for a different class. Loving the content and keep up the good work!
I'm a bit annoyed that I finally made lvl 8 difficulty and now I'm back to Hell 1, seriously, I am a disabled person soloing it, to take all that a way and basically say, start over, ouch
New paragon system is dope. I don't know what ppl are referring to from before about being able to choose, we had every tree maxed, no choices there. However, the game is way too easy now. There cannot be any fun with challenges. What's the point of thinking of a build if everything dies in one hit no matter what ?
I’m enjoying playing as a Tempest but I don’t know if it compares to my BK? Still learning but I have yet to find a mobile game that even comes close to DI. Always a fan, thanks for your great content Echo. ❤
As someone who has only been playing for a few months, the changes have been favorable for me. ie concentrating the challenge rifts, open world farming on the new Hell 3 is actually earning me gold and and I love the move from Barbarian to Tempest. Its inspired me to try other classes down the road. Edit The thing that took a step back is the wait time for random dungeons. Hopefully they fix it soon.
i think the new paragon system is quite good. balance our attribute. but some of att decreased abit. the best thing is we can make them even more useful combination now. but i hate that they remove warden paragon that give us extra size and life%!
The new update dumbed down the game. The paragon tree is just yawn. It took a moment to figure it out, but ya, not a lot of customisation of secondary attributes there. In general tho, the game has become ridiculously easy. Let me give an example. I have a BK alt that was p1333 and ~500 CR shy of inferno 6 dungeon CR on Wednesday, so I was still playing in Inferno 5. My BK has like 300 res and rank 15 gear. This is not a big toon. I do two terror rifts a day in that character. Before 'the big crunch', I did terror rifts on Inferno 1. I do not care much about eternal gear or terror essences; I was farming terror rifts primarily for daily gems. I have been doing this for about 6 weeks. I could get 3-4 spires in inferno 1 in my BK. I struggled to stay alive even in inferno 1. The biggest problem was the spire bosses, I really struggled with them - high health and dps. But also sometimes I got so mobbed that I died. It was not uncommon for this toon to die once per terror rift. Now in new Hell 3? I was easily getting 4 spires. Dying was no longer an issue. The bosses took a matter of seconds to kill with less than 2 million health. And I even had 600 leftover shards - a nice lil scrap boost for an alt. An even smaller alt in which I also did inferno 1 terror rifts is also able to get 4 spires with about 400 leftover shards - no deaths. I could only get 2-3 spires in Inferno 1 t rifts previously and dying was de rigeur. Ok this is great for my alts. How about my mains? It's far too easy. Nearly 1000 leftover shards. Waiting 2 minutes or longer for the next spires to spawn... just silly easy. I'm not going to complain tho as I found t rifts a bit stressful. Now they are a walk on EZ Street. No challenge at all. Feast or Famine. If all I had were my big toons, I'd be frustrated. By big, I mean ~3K res and 1k res, with max gear ranks and some awakenings of 1 and 2 stars. I cannot even imagine what the whales think of the difficulty level of this crunch if it's silly easy for a 3k res toon. I guess it's all been silly easy for them already. Or dungeons. I am 1-shotting bosses in the new Hell 3. The required CR is like 21K. I have 36K and 35K. I doubt the update for p400 will bridge that gap of 15K CR and be challenging for OG players. I doubt the difficulty update after that will either. So that's 220 paragon levels where OG players won't see much challenge. Basically, BlizzEase is asking it's OG Day One players to twiddle their thumbs for about 6 months. That's a pretty big ask. I know many Day One players who are stating that the crunch made gameplay ridiculous for them. One day, they're bored. These are not whale players. They are not enjoying bcz their is no challenge. Even Hell 3 raid bosses have been dumbed down considerably. So easy. Rather than to be upset, I am taking this as an opportunity to focus on my alts. As for the new class, I started a new toon. It's too low to judge anything, but it was super easy to get thru the tutorial. A lot of dash skills. MY BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT with the update is the free cosmetic offered in the Fractured Plane is only for Tempest. I do not class change, generally. So I won't get a cosmetic for my classes I do play. Instead now I am collecting cosmetics I'll never use. I preferred how they did the BK FP. You played as a BK, but the cosmetic was for your class. So that is an L for me. Doesn't really motivate me to go play the FP. And yes, when BK was introduced, the cosmetic was the only reason I did the FP. Rewards are better now, so I will still do it, just disappointing bcz I really enjoy cosmetics.
my warband took 1 min to crunch most raid hell 3 bosses and g3 was so fast we got confused as to why and g5 was good until 4th boss as it still needs a necro definitely for her all told took 15 mins for all runs
Can confirm that the Helliquary bosses got a lot easier. I ran the raid yesterday in my farming rig by mistake, and ended up with a chest of glory for each of the bosses. I don't like the simplification of the paragon trees - if I wanted something this dumbed down, I'd still be playing Diablo III. OTOH, it is good to know the name of Gretta's kitten.
People keep saying for new players to catch up. That is complete nonsense I started in march and was like 4 levels below server paragon the day before the update. I could've pushed it to server paragon very easily but was being lazy with things and focusing on other areas of the game. I was focused on trying to mess around with my secondary stats and things like that.
I don't really care for the new paragon system, I like the new tempest he is like a elemental ninja. Most player don't like it because of how easy it is to solo everything. The part they ruined is the Helliquary new dungeon bosses and hunting down the old ones in random dungeons.
I think glad about this new updates. Because phone requirements still same eventually looking smooths 70%. I thought disgusting might those who still not update their apps due to hQ raid. They perhaps might much overjoy Stephan+F+ astronomia 2k19 extended
imposibol to catch up on gear lvl most ppl got gear at lvl 30 but yes you can catch up on paragon lvl but you will still be behind the others if you dont spent money on the game
What do u mean impossible to catch up on gear? I mean gearing up gears can be done by farming in world map, or u saying this coz u dont even farm in overworld maps. Lol.

I'm 60days into the game and most of my gears are at lvl 16, lvl 21 for my main hand, resonance trash at lvl 500 but recently got my first 5 star gem after selling a week worth of secondary gems thanks to the new market system and all of this is me casually pressing buttons for a min of 2 hours per day 😂
Was really excited about the Tempest, started a new character yesterday and enjoyed every moment of it. Today the game just wouldn't start. It instantly goes to "Checking for updates 100%" and that's it, no movement at all. Is it just me or the game has some sort of a bug? Tried restarting the game, my phone, cleared all cache files. Don't want to reinstall the whole thing.
Event still not giving 100% bonus bpass xp like it states in game description. Was hoping update would have fixed it. Also playing tempest and all the ess feel and look the same for the most part and as a p2w pvp player, im hoping they make it better in pvp. I could be absolutely wrong but the tempest feels OP to me, where’s its weakness. It feels like it got the best aspects of various classes and gem to cobble it together. That said I also can’t play it, it zips all over the damn place and I end up feeling nauseous.
Is it just me or did some of the cross class cosmetics not transfer over to the tempest. It's very annoying spending the money for these cross class cosmos and a new class comes around u can't use ur cosmetics.
I'm going to reserve judgement until the anniversary patch. But so far, as someone being previously in I5 difficulty @1.5k res, I was surprised as well, how easy top end pve content is.
I‘ve been playing since day 1, I expected nothing from this update, but it is just the worst the devs could do to the game. I VI had been much too easy before, but now it‘s unplayable.
I always said the catch-up mechanics in this game were better than the endgame itself (is there even one? Does constant levelling = endgame?) I guess this update is just doubling down on that.
I jad a necro at.like 800+ para took me a month to achieve....after update it went to 117para....i made a tempest and achieved 140para in 4days....im a week i reached 240para tempest...smh
Man did Blizzard really managed to really f. things up in latest update, for PVE at least, PVP as always been crap, pay to win, "it's not hacking / cheating if you pay for it"... Oh, ok... we'll just leave it at that... ;) Paragon system just became crap (simpler they say, yeah right... for who?!), game difficulty is ridiculously easy (boring even) now, I'm not a big spender, I buy monthly BP and that's it, I started to play 2 or 3 months after the game was released, I'm about 2K Reso, and I'm now capable of one shothing everything in OW, everything from blues, yellow, reds, purples and even goblins, world bosses also became a joke, Martanos, Rosy, Jurat, Hydra, Golem, etc, a few slaps and they die... my secondary stats are about 3K ("lost" some after update, and also lost some primary stats), meaning I'm almost 2K above the current maximum difficulty and, having 36K combat rating, I'm 14.6K above Hell 3 minimum requirements, my current paragon level is 288, and game difficulty will remain like this until we reach paragon 400, how much powerful will we have become by than...?! That's if I don't quit the game before that happens... It even become impossible to farm most OW areas, because enemies won't spawn fast enough, you don't need a good PVE build anymore, as long as you have decent stats and above level Cr, you're good to go... and, if I feel like this, I can only imagine how whales feel now... and they're the one's keeping the game running... It's truly an update for new players only, it took early players about 2 years to reach where they are now, this is Blizzard's attempt to shortened that learning / grinding to 2 months... New tempest class...? I tried it, they nerfed it (I only wish they solved game bugs that fast...), and switched back to sader as soon as I got the chance ;)
There's no complexity anymore. All become fucking easy no challenge. Tempest skill haha only Overflow essence from Vortex skill and Riptide Surf for easy gaming and that's it.
PVE is a joke right now. Everything dies in less than a second and for raid bosses you maybe have a 3sec window for dmg. I guess still fun to play casually but not more than 30-60min per day currently for end game players (unless you really love BGs)
Hi echo I think the reason they dropped a 1000 in paragon is because the new paragon trees you think if they didn’t drop it we would have a 1000 paragon points that we can’t use

What do u nean to easy. Players who are high cr cab beat helliquary bosses the same way. New changes help new players ans that's good. Only thing that should be difficult is gauntlet.
It sucks alot ive got so much i5 essence its not even a 1 : 1 ratio and the i6 is ok I suppose the game got so easy like why reduce the diffculty although I understand And so much more sucks And the tempest feels like im doing way more less dmg it has spd but lacks atk atleast for me I lost 17% crit chance when transferring from necro I dont feel like I do enough dmg but the spd takes up for that maybe its because I dont have a complete build yet
The big problem I have is in the last xpan we were trying to race to get our cr up so we can do gauntlet 6 and all of the i6 raids. There was a min cr for the dungeons etc. They lowered it ridiculously. I could solo h3 now. I feel like it was a waste of time to push that hard for them to just give away the game to a demographic that probably won't stay anyway.
The new market changes are really bad. They did this in WoW and it destroyed the market. People will be forced to sell items as cheap as possible to the point it won't be worth selling anything anymore. Also, the new paragon system is awful. We've all been grinding for 2 years to get where we are now just to have blizz nerf us to the point we've lost 1.5 years of progression. The dungeon difficulty is way to low. We're all 14k Cr over the dungeon requirements. They made the tempest way to over OP. Tempest was hitting 24 million dps. Then, within 24 hours, they nerfed the tempest to the ground. Overall, I think this update was a massive failure.
We have to wait until p400?!!! Its too easy now at 280, and thats ok if you could go to H4/whatever a little early, as with i6 before. Hmm, me not like.
Not impressed with Tempest, they simplified the new paragon board, and everyone is running pretty much the same stats, raid bosses are way too easy. The game has gotten stale.
Dont like this update and the changes, a lot more clicking needed, the paragon wheel of fortune is making me dizzy, plus i dont want to run to the armory every time i need to change something, waaa waaa waaa! oh well hope I figure it out.
Before the switch, we were playing 1 or 2 fights in Inferno VI and the rest in V. (Fight 2 in VI was a challenge and it was a real feeling of accomplishment to complete) We can do every helliquary boss except the last one now -- and none are a challenge. If its that easy for us, I figure the top level players are seeing even LESS of a challenge.
There is ZERO end game content??? They even made dungeons easier..just why? I6 dungeons were already easy,now you can do a dungeon in 2 or 3 minutes. There's literally nothing for anyone to do

What about the new players who never got the chance to catch up until, perhaps, now? Without new blood every game eventually dies. It's not like whales have the hard life if you can spend as much on a GAME!
