Cyndi Lauper was one of my first crushes and I'm still fascinated by her. She was so ahead of her time and not afraid to be herself as weird as she was. Especially in the conservative 80's! Thanks for posting 👍
@@thebluemorpho6640 Soon as you see the eyes of the leader singer dancing next to Piper on the ship it hit me too man. I wouldn't have known except for No1BRC, the legend.
It's really the only way that we ever knew of the octopus scene, unless you watched the deleted scenes on Blu-ray or DVD, otherwise it remained unknown for the most part.
RIP all these great wrestlers who made our childhood worth living … love you cyndi Lauper keep the square circle clean guys we will be there soon 😔😔😔😔😔😔
I've NEVER seen the second half of this video! I always thought it never existed, and just one of those things you had to discuss with your friends about what really happened.
I just found it at 34yo the goonies and Cyndi were my favorite when growing up and the actors, acting with the pro wrestlers is super awesome, I recently after 20 years of watching WWE that she was this involved with WWE in the 80’s and inducted into the WWE hall of fame so awesome 😊
I love how piper breaks fourth wall at the end. it shows how much truly a ham he was and how he would really do anything for his friends. and also of course everybody looks like they had fun being apart of this.
@@sweetjoey2 who could possibly hate this? I haven't experienced this much sheer joy in ages. If the "WWF" (I know, it's not called that anymore) still functioned like this it might still be relevant. RIP Andre the Giant and Rowdy Roddy Piper
@@sweetjoey2 I remember The Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff lost their tag team titles and Bobby Heenan kept saying they were robbed because they were tired from making this video. It was funny how they managed to make it part of the storyline. Ah 80's WWF. There was nothing quite like it.
I love how the original concept of music videos were to setup and insulate the actual music videos with little stories! Haha! We should go back to this!
This is the perfect 80's music video. Cyndi, pro wrestlers, Spielberg, huge set pieces, a fun and goofy plot, several Academy Award nominees, and two actual Oscar winners! And Fezzik! (and I had never seen part two until just today!)
"The Goonies 'R' Good Enough" is 1 of Cyndi Lauper's best songs & music video's.I have seen Cyndi Live in concert 5 X's & when I saw her at her "True Colors Concert Tour in 2008, This was Her 3rd song she sang & I was so excited to hear it live & then when I saw her "She's So Unusual 30th Anniversary Tour in 2013" I was maybe 4 feet from her the entire show & when I heard the 1st note of "The Goonies 'R' Good Enough" I was jumping up & down lol My 2nd time hearing it live & on a side note, Cyndi's voice is incredible in concert.
@@darrelmorgan1509 that’s really cool, I’ve ALWAYS wanted to meet her. Cyndi Lauper seems like she would be really down to earth & I think she’s probably really funny in person & Cyndi can sings. I don’t know if you’ve ever heard her song “I’m Gonna be strong” from her album Twelve Deadly Cyns...and Then Some it’s on the Japan CD & she originally sang it when she was in the band “Blue Angel” if you RU-vid Cyndi Lauper Blue Angel “I’m Gonna be strong” & then listen to “I’m Gonna be strong” from Twelve Deadly Cyns...and Then Some they’re a bit different. The original version from when she was in blue angel sounds like a demo compared to the album release version. I did get to meet her very dear friend the famous wrestler Captain Lou Albano (Who’s in this video) & back in 1989 & that was really cool. I live in CT & up until recently Cyndi Lauper only lived 40 minutes from me until her & her family sold their Connecticut home.
After Cyndi kissed Josh Brolin on the cheek, I’ll bet he was thinking, “Fun isn't something one considers when escaping from the WWF Hall of Fame. But this... does put a smile on my face.” - (Seriously, that cute grin he makes afterwards is worth watching!)
According to Corey Feldman, Michael Jackson visited them on set during the making of this music video. He was a super big fan of MJ so he mentioned it in the commentary for the movie. Go check it out. Some of the funniest stuff I've ever heard, lmao
i was 11 when this came out, i remember having a huge crush on cyndi. great memories of me sitting in my bedroom in the Scottish Highlands playing her album on my record player.
Lol, Josh Brolin, played most hated villain in comic book history and lol business will forever be the same, scrupulous as, just got AI and robots now, without feelings, so it won't matter, when they're redundant haha 😂😜🤔❤
@@Babeolicious777 yeah! you can see them in the background during the scene on the boat, dressed as pirates. the best shot is at 8:32 they even had a song in the soundtrack. it's the one you can hear while the cheerleaders are practicing. it's called "I got nothing"
@@Babeolicious777The Bangles were Cyndi’s opening act when they first started out. I believe after this, “Manic Monday” dropped and everyone started to pay attention to Susanna and the girls.
*ding* "customer!!!" oh i lalalove that part! i love every second of this video, when it came out on MTV, i'd stop everything i was doing, and watched it till the end. (yes, we had to *wait* for our favorite videos to play, not like youtube today where we can enjoy it anytime) i get tears in my eyes, of happiness, nostalgia, love, it's hard to explain. thank you so much, *AMBLIN* for putting this 2 parter together.💜💜💜
😂 11:13 typical Rowdy Piper...try to negotiate with opponent first..and when they take their eyes off him..he will smash you from behind...RIP Rowdy Roddy Piper...my favourite wrestler...

The funny thing about seeing Wendi Richter and Fabulous Moolah fighting in this situation... as shortly afterward, Moolah would literally screw Richter out of the business
