I was gonna comment more or less the same thing. I’m so happy they never touched this movie. I still watch it and I also during work I’ll listen to the soundtrack. Just everything about this movie is amazing.
I recently got the 4K version of it and made sure to copy it to multiple flashdrives so I'd always have a copy. I really wish i still had my VHS version though.
@@Beardo0529lol I even listen to the actual movie during work through AirPods. I just shut screen off. I love this movie so much. It’s always been a go to movie for me for 30 plus years. My grandma always let me put it on.
@@Roberob1189 i actually listen to the soundtrack while at work. So I can totally see myself trying that out next time. listening to the movie sounds like a great idea 😃
Every time I here the music of the Goonies it brings a tear to my eye watching it when I was a kid was wonderful and still is really enjoyed this well done 🎥🎞️
I first saw this movie when I was 8yrs old, I'm now 38 and I watch it atleast once a year every single year since I was 8. I watched it twice last year and i think it's time for me to watch it again. This was a great video and we all appreciate the work you put into it.
Love it!! You did a fantastic job lining up all those shots so meticulously, as always. Of course we love the Goonies, such a classic 80s film. And you’re right, it’s movie magic at its finest. We hope to visit these places some day! Thanks for the excellent tour Nick. 👍🏻
I remember watching this film in 1987, here in Brazil. When I was 6 years old, I already felt this magic and today, watching this video again, it's like going back in time and feeling the magic of childhood. Greetings from Brazil and to all fans of this fantastic film.
I love this movie even tho I’m not a person who grew up in the 80s I thank my parents for showing me these amazing films the goonies is one of my favourites ☠️
As a Goonies fan, I was researching once again about the movie and feel so glad I found your vid! Not only for the locations and all the info you gathered, but the perception and heart in your lines thru the footage! This combo made it such a pleasant visit to the past. What an amazing work of yours! Thank you for that! Cheers!
There's a fun RU-vid family from NZ that just took a huge 8 week tour of the western US and the dad said the day they spent visiting these filming locations was top four things they did the entire trip. Really does look like a picturesque area. Love the bridge in the background.
Superb! How did I miss this? I would love to visit more film locations from my childhood but before I can even think about it I need to go 3000 miles in a plane. Still, it will happen some day, Goonie dreams never die.
So jealous, if I was only allowed to visit one filming location in the US this would be my pick for sure. This would be one of the best Goonies then & now movies I have seen done on here and your match ups are bang on point as always. I was surprised you could go onto the balcony, others I have seen done could only view from that railing fence that is setup in the driveway
I’m glad you enjoyed it Brett. Yes, there were problems for a little while but everything seems to be ok now. Those prior issues actually delayed my visit to Astoria. Hopefully, you get to visit one day yourself but the camera I use really does everything but physically put you there… If that helps. Thanks a lot!
Ya when I went to the goonies house they were remodeling it or something an the owners were outside yelling at us, we only made it to the top of the hill lol I yelled back at them asking what they expected when buying it
Absolutely amazing video. Thankyou thankyou thankyou. Pure unbridled nostalgia to simpler times. Generation defining. We are blessed to have been part of it. 8 year old me just cried with joy and told 40 year old me its gonna be OK.
Nick, I’m from the Netherlands. My year of build is 1975. I’ve watched this movie a million times. Your vlog is amazing. I’m so jealous that you actually visit the actual filming locations. So great to imagine and to see. God I mis the 80’s. Things were so much greater then. I’ve always looked up to the US and Spielberg’s movies. Very nice work and effort of you to!!! Thx for this video!!!
Thanks a lot! I think Warner Bros is the main culprit. I had to upload 6 times to avoid copyright infringement, when there wasn’t any due to fair use in the first place. I wrote youtube about it last night. It’s not getting circulated properly as a result. Anyhow, thanks again!
Greatly appreciate this video. I was born in 1995 but The Goonies was one of the first DVDs I had as a kid in 2000. I consider it a favourite of my childhood. No one else in my age group that I schooled or worked with have watched it and don't understand my love and appreciation for the movie. I wish I can visit these places one day.
Thank you for taking the time to post all the details. Grew up watching the Goonies and with your video, brought back so many memories! Before and after shots are fantastic!
I was just in Seattle last year for three months, and spent a day in Oregon visiting all The Goonies locations. It brought back great childhood memories.
I just came from Astoria because I wanted to finally visit the place where the film was shot. The movie experience was just awesome, but I realized that even without the movie, the town was just worth visiting on its own. What a beautiful, quiet, clean place. Now your video was just perfectly spot on the locations. That's a lot of dedication. Congratulations!
I really appreciate you taking the time to comment. It’s great to hear how much you enjoyed the video! I try to go all out on some of my productions, when they involve my all time favorite movies. Thanks a lot!
'hey you guys'😍, i adore The Goonies, another classic movie i never tire of watching. What an amazing job you have done, lining up all of the camera angles to perfection. So very happy you have made this video and love all of your commentary through out the video. As always an on point job, thank you so much for sharing, truly awesome😎
Hey, Nathanial sent me. Love your content. Utah has a lot of filming locations I've been to. I've been to several others in different states. Excellent job, keep up the good work.
THE GOONIES!!!! HELL YEAH!!! It's so amazing how your comparison shots are exact! What a classic movie. I don't remember much of it which is why I am going to break it out and watch it again!! lol OMG...that house at 19:05 is friggen GORGEOUS!!!! Is it abandoned? lol Wait.....did you just show us a video store? HOLY CRAP!!! Very well done Nick! Thank you for the awesome tour!! Stay safe out there! :)
Thanks a lot my Friends!! That is the Flavel House, now museum, it really is a beauty. If you look it up online, you can find some old images from the dirt road days lol. Lol that’s the last Blockbuster, I threw in for good measure. You guys rock! Thanks again!!!
Thanks Nick for the work. Lining up shots is a true detail that is most important. I feel the cast (as young as they were) did an outstanding acting job. This movie is hands down my favorite for many reasons. I'm about the same age as Feldman, they go on a treasure hunting adventure, and they rode some 20" BMX bikes. Most of the cast want to film a part 2 and I think it would be awesome. They could be the parents this time. Lots of fans want it so why can't we get it? How about a Netflix series like Cobra Kai? I know I'd watch it. Thanks again Nick.
A Netflix series, similar to Cobra Kai would be a lot of fun! The cast did do an amazing job. Spielberg had a special way with kids, inhumanly patient lol. ..and then Donner, Columbus, etc.. Great talents. Not to mention the talent of the young cast themselves. Pretty much unheard of today… Glad to hear you enjoyed the video, and I really appreciate the awesome feedback!
Cool! This is a movie I watched when I was young and it made a big impression on me! When I watch it again, I go back to those youthful years with joy, thank you...
Growing up in the 90s, we watched this film like crazy. Critics bemoan this or that, yet we as kids were forever caught up in the intrigue, the adventure and the wonder. Even then, I was in love with Astoria's majestic landscape. It reminds me very much of Apollo Bay here in Victoria with the beautiful rugged coasts and incessant rainy weather. I would love to visit one day! And thanks so much for the videos, Nick P! Nostalgia overloaded.
I spent a few years living in Cannon Beach in the late 90s and early 2000s. I also love the Goonies. Thanks for the walk down memory road, in more ways than one for me, having frequented some of the spots you show myself.
This brings back so many memories. The movie was brilliant, and your video with the filming locations is awesome. And seeing one of the police officers at the end pull up on the 3 wheeled bike makes me feel old lol. I can remember the old trikes.
Your historical information is just fantastic. I mean, really, really great. I’m a 1980s kid & this movie has a very special place in my heart. I saw this with my cousins at their summer lake cottage in NH in 1985 & it was the only time we watched tv up there. Fantastic movie. Great memories.
the 80s & 90s Nostalgia is unbeaten, the Atmosphere & everything is simply Awesome. The Goonies, The Explorers, Stand by Me, Home ALone, Back 2 The Future, MY Girl, Dennis...and many more.... these are the Milestones we grew up with, these Movies are Uplifting & makes us Happy. Also because i guess our Memories are attached to these Decades, our Families Friends & our Journey in this World!!! & the Movies makes these Moments Reappear ✨✨🙌
I am a fan of this movie I enjoyed this video a lot, you dedicated time, editing and you began to investigate a lot about the film, thank you for your time and dedication.
I remember visiting the spot where the hideout was and it was on complete accident. We were just visiting places in Oregon and it was so cool seeing the plaque with images of the spots.
You know while there have been many videos like this showing the goonies locations your video is my favourite, it is very well done and love how excited youo are to see these locations
Great video. I love your shot by shot lineups. I went to Cannon Beach and Astoria a few years ago and ended up at Ecola Park too. To match things up I rented the movie on my phone when I was there to see where things were. I was surprised you didn't mention the scene where Mikey lines up the coin with the rocks. Those rocks are no where near the hideout, so they must have comp'ed them in.
So neat! Liked your montage, very well put together - thank you so much. Would love to take the family on this trip sometime, hopefully soon. Long drive from Texas... Thank you again ~ Cheers!
This was very well done. Goonies was a great movie. I have even shown it to my son. On the beach, I was surprised and sad to see how much sand has washed away. The kids were walking over rocks that are now exposed.
