Andre represents manners class and elegance like no other. He knew the value of grace and good manners. What a total Prince Charming and Master Teacher one of a kind like no other. Thank you Andre for being you.
Andre’ is class and elegance ! Andre’ told his story how he so deemed right ! It is important that you do so, lest you be misrepresented ! I just find him quite 👑, regal and unfounded ! He is the epitome of “vivre et laisser vivre” unapologetically! Just a powerful , educator, historian , writer and encyclopedia! Andre’ was one ☝🏾 in our generation ! They do not make them in style anymore ! An embodiment of knowledge and style ! …. I can go on and on … but I will miss him dearly ! I have watched and followed his career with intrigue and found candor, joy 🤩 and fulfillment in his work ! He shall be missed ♥️♥️♥️you live on Andre’ Leon Tallly … “c'est la vie “
Heartbreaking to listen to the interruptive inner child of Andre, when Toure'' asked him a clear question about love. He seemed to have packed the real answers away in his numerous set of LV luggage. His answers were very deflective and "colorfully" whimsical.
I'm thrilled to see Mr. Talley FINALLY receive some of the recognition that he's long deserved! That said, I'm increasingly concerned about Mr. Talley's weight. It's not healthy, and places him at risk for a multitude of diseases.
Worry about your own weight/body/health and let other people worry about theirs. It's really not your business. Besides, everyone has to die of something, some day - breaking news - no one gets out of here alive!
And you're deranged! I'd tell you to eat healthily today, and not to smoke or drink to excess because it 'places you at risk of a multitude of diseases' (how pompous!) But I won't because that's your business not mine, and frankly I'm too busy having a life of my own to pass judgement on yours!
@glamdolly LOL Your ego is clearly bruised. That's what happens when you "step out of your place" with strangers. Worse, you're now trying to manufacture justification for your insolence, after the fact. It won't work. You're dismissed. Have a great weekend.:)
Awww Stephan - you actually re-wrote your post after I had replied to it! How adorable that you went to so much trouble to try to impress me. Admittedly I'm a fabulous person, but I'm a person you'll never meet. Strangers don't come any stranger than you sweetheart! As evidenced by your breathless admiration for successful people like myself and Andre Leon Talley (whom you address as 'Mr Talley' in deferential, fan-girling style). Bless your heart, I'm flattered. I'm so glad you have RU-vid, as an outlet to make you feel less inadequate. RU-vid clearly means everything to you. It gives you a voice you don't have in your drab, low status, everyday life, and the warm illusion that your opinion matters. RU-vid is powerful therapy for frustrated people like you. It allows you to connect with the world anonymously and delude yourself that you're someone important, not impotent, while hiding behind a keyboard. RU-vid is nothing less than your lifeline. Your insecurities are plain to see Stephan, and I wouldn't want to take that lifeline away from you. That would be churlish, not to say unkind of me. I'm only too happy to have given you some of the online attention you so desperately crave. And let's face it, anything that keeps you safely confined inside that internet cafe and off the streets is a win-win! So keep practicing writing your little posts in the RU-vid comments sections - and going back later, and re-writing them - and who knows, maybe one day you'll come up with something half intelligent? After all, they say a mangy monkey could create the works of Shakespeare if he were locked in a room with a keyboard for long enough! You might test that theory, but the internet cafe is closing soon. Now don't dawdle Stephan - spare a thought for the poor staff who have to sanitise your computer, wipe the rancid sweat from your unemployed buttocks off your chair, and spray clouds of anti-bacterial air freshener behind you as you leave. Love & luck to you darling, keep reaching out on RU-vid to human beings far greater than yourself, I'm sure a little of our magic will rub off on you someday. XXX PS If you post again, please do anyone who might see it a favour and try to compose something that's vaguely entertaining. Write - and re-write it - to your heart's content until it's just slightly interesting, would you? I realise an intelligent composition would be too tall an order, but life is short. Try not to bore people! It's a mantra that's served myself and the equally fabulous Diana Vreeland wonderfully well. Make it yours!
There is one gospel repent of your sins turn to Jesus to recieved eternal life. Jesus is the one way to God and those who reject this true and only gospel will be lost in death. This is the gospel
The interviewer is just less than smart and I love the way Andre’ shoved him out of the way with his elegant , eloquent answer of the circles he belonged to ! Please !! Our very own people can be so stuck !
His weight, his business. Jeezus - this man has worked in a fascinating world and with fashion legends, and you want to talk about his weight?! How boring are you?!
glamdolly20 as soon as I see him that's what I see. In fashion your appearance is IMPORTANT. With that said, he should work on his health so he can be his best.
This guy name drops stars like crazy but he never actually tells you anything illuminating, surprising or amusing about any of these legends he spent so much time with. Andy Warhol took all of his staff out with him, to the parties and screenings he was invited to. So? I wonder why he cites his grandmother, great grandmother and aunts as huge influences but never mentions his mother - did she die and he never knew her, or did he just dislike her? Is there such a word as 'funeralised' and 'noterised'?! And can he really be a great writer when he seems incapable of coming up with an amusing punchline to any of his anecdotes? It's so disappointing - he starts telling a story that sounds promising, with a famous name thrown in here and there, and you expect it to peak with an hilarious or surprising revelation, but nothing. The stories go nowhere. I'm left feeling there is considerably less to this man than meets the eye, that he was simply in the right place at the right time - and loved being there so much that he made himself indispensable to some very influential people.
Andre is looking through the lens of his Journey. You maybe disappointed in his storytelling but you can't denied his extraordinary influence in the fashion industry.
Girl stop! Just stop! You're talking about a black gay man who grew up in the south reading vogue and dreaming about a life in fashion. He led and continues to lead a remarkable life. I am not even a fashion guy but his life story has captured my attention. I have never seen him name drop just to name drop. He is a black man telling his story of being the only one in a room with mainly European designers. You sound like you're made about something. Or even jealous.
His mother and him seem to have had a difficult relationship. In a clip, he alluded to the fact that she was not fully accepting of him. He talks a lot about unconditional love. Read between the lines.
glamdolly20 He worked at vogue and at the american museum of art. Also various magazines. That makes you a seasoned profesional in the fashion industry. Not surprised yet???
