How does a sinner Believe? What doctrine does Calvinism proclaim? A couple of questions that are raised by your statement. I believe John Calvin has sound doctrine because it's biblical doctrine. I don't know all what he believes but what I've looked in to lines up with scripture. Yes John 3:16 and many others tell us what you're proclaiming but there's more to "believing" that scripture also points out that many churches don't give the time of day. What about John 1:12-13? Not by man's will but by God's. We, as sinners, are absolutely depraved and unable to believe in God without him first calling us, Ephesians 2:1-10, which He did before creation Ephesians 1:3-5. God is sovereign. He hardened pharaoh's heart, He makes from the same lump vessels for honour and vessels for common use, and who is man to question God? Romans 9:19-33. Christian's are God's chosen people, rejoice in that! Election doesn't give us an out from the great commission, all saved people are elect but not all elect are saved yet. The good news? None will fall thru the cracks! John 6:28-51. Psalms 33:10-17 speaks of God's sovereignty, His plans stand forever.

And then say "I believe John Calvin has sound doctrine". -Why are you asking questions you already know the answer to? It seems like you've been trained well into calvinistic framing of questions to entrap the unaware Christian in order to convert to them to calvinism. Let me ask you two personal questions. 1-Were you a christian before you became a calvinist? 2-What proof do you have that you're one of the calvinistic "elect" and not one "unconditionally elected" for hell? There is no good news in calvinism for those going to hell.

Well it's easy to believe lots of things, the first question "how does a sinner believe" was rhetorical in a sense and scriptural directed towards you, but when it pertains to salvation, the depraved sinner is incapable of coming to the true realization of God without God allowing said sinner to believe. That's not Calvin, that's scripture. Referenced in first response. To answer your questions though, yes I would've called myself a Christian before taking the time to look in to Calvin about a year ago. I'm labeled a "Calvinist" but don't misunderstand me, it's not because it's "John Calvin",it's because it's scripture taught and shown to me in a way I'd never heard or seen before and it it brought so much joy and thankfulness to my own life. My life is more obedient to the word now than before. As for my evidence of being an elect, Scripture. If it weren't for scripture being pointed out by Calvin I'd be none the wiser about election. Calvin isn't spitting this stuff out of thin air, it's right in scripture. I don't know why Calvin gets such a bad rap, he's a reformed preacher who teaches what scripture says. I had heard of Calvinist in the past and it always had a negative connotation connected to it, similar to your first comment, so finally I decided to check Him out and I'm pleased with what I'm learning.

Well I know you said that'd be your last post but I want to reply, I'm enjoying our conversation. I believe Jesus Christ is my savior, but to think I could come to that realization on my own is prideful isn't it? I believed that up until I started actually looking into scripture instead of just blazing thru it. Calvin just happened to be the preacher teaching me. Well according to Paul's writings women have a lower standard than man. This is why you should become Jewish where men and women are equal. Christianity is a fake religion.

They are taught to do that at master seminary unfortunately before they are pastors, many reformed and not reformed teach the same thing unfortunately, and they are wrong, but it is there tradition now, there were others at GCC that came forward with child and wife physical and sexual abused, told not to get away from the abuse to stay and even not to report, this is rampant in Christian churches and usually hush hush me er in sermons so it continues to this day, and very few pastors will admit when they made mistake like this. They need our prayers and more people to come forward to restore the abuser with true repentance and number 1 protect the abuse who come to get safety first. No child or wife should have to be told to suffer that for Jesus and stay in abuse, based on incorrect reading of scripture.

I will as them their church/spiritual backstory and who they think Christ was, and take it from there. Yes, my wife and children and I are all white, and our small church is most assuredly Reformed. It has by my estimate perhaps 70 people. And without any exaggeration, it is by my estimation less than 10% white. If that. Predominately Asian Indian, Nepali, with amounts of whites, African Americans and Latinos. There are certainly individuals of color (a term I don’t even like) who are Reformed, aside from Baucham. Conrad Mbewe, Emilio Ramos, Aber Chau, Darrell Harrison, Hensworth Jonas. As well as an African American friend and brother in Christ who faithfully goes with my wife routinely to stand outside of a local abortion clinic begging women not to murder their children. Last year I just finished reading a very moving autobiography book called “A Girl Born Facing Outside”; an account of a Chinese girl Jeannette Li, who was saved by grace, becoming Reformed Presbyterian, prior to being caught up in the Communist Revolution. Completing my answer to your question, if you mean to say why are over 90% of PREACHERS white male, as far as their strictly gender goes, because it is biblical, that role is for males only (per Titus and 1 Timothy 3.) Scripture doesn’t change just because we do. As far as the skin color, I’ve provided some nonwhite names. Now I don’t know if that answers you’re question, but it’s the best I can provide.

Whatever Jesus would have written, is still Old Test, as he lived under the law to fulfill it on the Jewish people's behalf. Your wrong. No where in scripture does it say that Jesus made His death and blood available to cover our death penalty.

If that coverage were unavailable, we would all be hopelessly doomed to perish, paying our own death penalty for sin . . . "For the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23). Thank You, Jesus. The idea that all sins - past, present and future - have been paid for leads to a narrative which is misleading millions. The narrative goes like this: "Well, since all sins - past, present and future - have been paid for, sin and repentance are therefore no longer salvation issues. Just have faith ("faith alone") that Jesus did it all for you on the cross and you'll be saved, instantly. And you'll always stay saved (OSAS) because, after all, you cannot undo what Jesus has already done for you on the cross." This "faith alone" narrative is nothing more than a sly, sneaky way of saying "no repentance required, no obedience required." It's been welcome news to itching ears ever since it was put "on the market" by religious merchants back in the 1500's.

This is how we receive God's promised mercy: ■ "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." (Proverbs 28:13) ■ "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him . . . " (Isaiah 55:7) God changed His mind about about punishing Nineveh because they changed their mind about continuing in sin. They "turned from their evil way": ■ "And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not." (Jonah 3:10) Here's what Jesus had to say about Nineveh. Note this: He used "repentance" in reference to turning from sin: ■ "The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they *repented* at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here." (Jesus, in Matthew 12:41) Ouir sins *_remain_* - not taken away - unless and until we repent: ■ "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord" (Acts 3:19, NKJV). We will perish - we will pay our own death penalty - unless we repent. Jesus warned, ■ "except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Jesus, in Luke 13:5) Peter makes it clear: come to repentance, or else perish: ■ "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." @@schaeffercox3158 no Voddie does not believe what scripture says, he instead believes what theologians like Augustine, and John Calvin theorized scripture to say, based in Gnostic divine determinism, which is not scripture. Check your Bible what he teaches in this case is not scripture. TULIP/Calvinism/doctrines of grace for some and not others/reformed theology is not scripture, it is an incorrect interpretation of scripture and salvation. Even some Calvinist believe the Bible when it says Jesus blood atonement is for every man woman boy and girl, but is only applied to those who believe in faith. There would have been no reason for Jesus to come if it was to sacrifice his life for those already determined to be born for salvation. It makes every reason for him to come for the reasons he said, to offer salvation to the world, whosoever, all mankind, because all mankind is lost, and draw all with the holy spirit when lifted up, and all who look to him with true faith, like the servant lifted up in the desert will be saved. Again Jesus makes this exact offer and promise consistently through scripture. First to the Jew and then to the gentile He does not limit his offer to a respected by God group of elect, indeed it's for the humble publican who put his faith in him like a child, not for the proud and self righteous know it all pharisees, and even they like Paul can repent and believe and be covered by his unlimited blood sacrifice, applied only on believers, but available to all, not by their belief, but by grace, so they can't boast. If someone was elect predestined chosen before they were born, and cannot fall away, and otheyr born for hell, the so called elect and chosen could indeed boast in their salvation, because it is withheld from others, before they did anything good or bad who have no way to humble themselves and believe.
