Ladies! Here is the Tone video we did: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7ttY4ln0mRo.html ...we skimmed that topic just a bit since we already did a video on it! 😘
I was lucky enough to attend a finishing school in Australia over 50 years ago. Stand in front of a chair with your calves touching the chair and lower yourself into it. Never scratch, fix your makeup, comb your hair in public. Don’t slam doors/cupboards, touch everything as if it is very valuable. Don’t grab anything. Speech: don’t swear or use colloquialisms, end every “t” and “d”. Never appear to be in a rush eg don’t drive aggressively. Avoid fidgeting, remember people’s names and use them. Consideration for others is the essence of good manners and simplicity of dress is the essence of elegance. Myka Meier has a great IS account and so does The Elegance Advisor.
Wow! Nice! I would have never thought that the finishing school would have taught ladies not to drive aggressively 50 years ago. I wouldn’t have thought it was important back then as cars couldn’t really go that fast back then, but in hindsight, a very important lesson indeed. You can be aggressive without having to drive fast.
I really like your comment. Fluid movement is very feminine as well. No tossing, throwing, or exaggerating facial expressions. Never display anger or frustration in public. Do everything slow and easy. Be more relaxed and reserved in movement, and you don't have to watch everyone who walks by you. Watch without watching. Thanks, please add more 😊
I did not have a mother or female role models in my life. Most of my life I felt disconnected from girls and now women growing up. This has lead me to feel awkward and navigated life by winging it as I go. I’m so glad I found you guys. So helpful
I must say, I love the editing of your videos. Richard must do this professionally! He does a fabulous job!!!! And, it's so wonderful how you include Black women, Muslim women, and a variety of ethnicities and cultures in your videos. And, I am also happy to see that you also include women of different sizes, from small through plus size. It is so appreciated that you include every type of woman in your videos! All women are beautiful and valued and the inclusivity in your images and clips echoes this fact. Please keep up the good work!!
@@DixieandBob Ohhhh so it's Cherry who does the editing?! That's awesome! Kudos to Cherry!!!!! She does a phenomenal and very thoughtful job editing your wonderful videos! 👏👏👏💖💖
Glamourdaze just uploaded a video called "How to be a Model in the 1960s". It's very short, but interesting. We can all use the one about getting in and out of a car. I remember they always used to teach us, "knees together, feet together". I have seen that contradicted though, where you could step out of a car one foot at a time as long as those knees were glued to each other. Thought you might get a kick out of seeing it. Have a great day, my favorite ladies! 🌸🌷
For me my mother was feminine but married horribly .in the process lost her feminity due to lack of provision and for ever dealing with the mood swings of a man that did not want to work.so she had to work like animal....and took his burdens ....and in short life made us into mini men
Another great video💕 Love this! I have 2 dresses that i bought over a year ago and they make me feel so good each time I wear them. I find that I also get more compliments when I wear those. Plus!
Very interesting topic, thank you very much! I was wondering if you will continue with the series of Fascinating Womanhood in Disney princesses movies, particularly with Sleeping Beauty?
Yes! We got rather tired of doing them over and over and took a break. We are finishing this series and moving into a singles subject and then rounding back to Sleeping Beauty and Snow White (both scripts are already written!). 😘
I'm from Salt Lake Utah . I love the topic of Grace by practicing I hope to become graceful Do you have any tips to soften me kind of Big lady toward a man in my life
I’m always curious as to why you call your mum by her name? I’m not sure if I’m being rude with my question, it’s just that I was always wondering about it. We don’t practise it my culture, so I’m wondering perhaps it’s normal for Americans? Sorry if my question is offensive. Please delete my comment if it’s unacceptable.
I never call her by her name. I introduce her to the audience because the audience needs to know her name. This is why i say, “ I am here with my mom, Dixie Andelin Forsyth” meaning she’s my mom but you can call her Dixie. Otherwise how would you all know who she is? 😂
@@DixieandBob I totally get that part of the introduction. I wasn’t asking about that. It’s just that I was watching a few videos, it appeared as if you were calling her by name, instead of just introducing. But I’m glad you corrected my perception since English is not my first language. But do let me respectfully reiterate, I do get the part where you’re introducing her to us by using her name. I may not be American or English speaking, but I’m not dumb.
@@carinarose9535 - ahhh, I get it now. You might have been watching the older videos. When I first started we decided to try a more professional approach and call her Dixie so it would sound more polished. But it didn’t feel natural so we decided to try a more natural approach. You see, the prior woman that interviewed her was a hired assistant and the audience seemed to enjoy their back and forth. They were hoping to mimic that prior setup with the assistant. We are learning new things every day about how to grow our channel - thank you for your patience with us while we learn!
