actually it was used against the british "long range desert group" who had recons and commandos units so anti-tanks was not necessary for that type of vehicle (even if some were used with a 47mm instead of the 20mm) and the jerrycans was to ensure atleast 800km of autonomy for longs missions in desert

Btw, AS42 “metropolitana” was the shorter range version of the “sahariana”, which was issued to X regiment Arditi in North Africa in order to raid convoys deep behind enemy lines and counter the 22nd SAS and LRDG actions. This vehicle was particularly feared due to his immense fire power against non-armored target (20 mm Breda) and was way superior to British jeeps and trucks.

You took the time to make this video great, Phly, and it is. It is great.

Some tips as someone who plays the AS 42 as their main ground forces vehicle. (Daily pretty much) You will survive stuff you should not. That is a given, it's not just Phly's luck, this happens 25-50% of the time. It's not a very good AA, but as a tank destroyer, it's perfect if you find a good position. However, you will be target number 1 if a plane sees you since a couple bullets and you're gone. For tanks, machine guns are the biggest threat, however, at this BR against noobs, they'll mostly shoot your engine, or bottom of the crew compartment, usually giving you enough time to aim and unload a clip into their face. The Panzer II is the most dangerous tank at this BR because the armour is really hard to pen. Same with a couple french tanks. Against planes, best thing is to drive fast and turn like crazy, don't even try to shoot at them, unless they line up straight for you and haven't started shooting. For where to go, go to a good flank position where they won't notice you, but you can pen a surprising amount of tanks from the front. About ammo, research it, and get the best anti-tank ammo you've got. You can take all 100 clips, because you're not going to get ammo racked. It's not really the concern in this car. In conclusion, this may be more OP than the R3 because most people at this BR are clueless as to how to play the game, and don't have the strategy down yet.

You said a bomb that close would throw one of the crew members out of the vehicle 17:05. But you forgot about something... The WINDSCREEN!!! There was a reason they spend billions developing that state of the art equipment phly. Don't you ever dismiss it again.

The gunner also has the most epic man-spread, and looking at the side of the vehicle while tilting the gun up 45 degrees shows his epic meatball launcher in all its glory.

In reality the AS.42 'Sahariana' had a crew of five, was armed with more MG's and was a very well respected long range desert recce truck. Used in a similar way to the Brit's Long Range Desert Group's (LRDG) Chevy 30 cwt's.

I LOVE this vehicle. In AR, people shoot at the outline. That often means they are missing half the vehicle, or can't find you because the only thing exposed is the gun. The Ammo storage is surprisingly good layered armour ;) I had a teammate survive two tank rounds off that "armour"

Phly, have you tried out the rain of fire that you can achieve when you fire a bunch of hell fires in one go? the enemy tank exploding after like 5 missiles hitting simultaneously is so...... *american*

Hey Phly, regarding higher ranking aircraft, don't you think aircraft with radar detectors should give the player a warning when they are within range of an anti-aircraft vehicle that uses radar? I think this will reduce the effectiveness of vehicles like the OTOMATIC (which is a good thing to me). Players will see the warning and be prepared to manuever. What do you think?
