I loved Benny Hill, my father turned me into this show in the late 70's when I was a teenager....Those Skits were so funny and still make me laugh to this Day. Miss you Dad 💔✝️
Desde Costa Rica🇨🇷 lo veia de niño todas las noches en los años 80,s excelente comediante estuve de viaje en Londres lastimosamente no tuve tiempo para ir a su tumba
A BRILLIANT TRIBUTE to a Comedic GENIUS Rufus. Benny Hill was a favourite in our home in the 1960s and after I married in 1972, I came home from work late at night and all I could hear was my wife choking. I though strewth, someone is murdering her. It was BENNY HILL. My wife was in stitches and hooting with laughter at Benny's antics. May his dear soul rest in peace.
I thought I might tell a story about Mr Hill. I met a man in a Southampton pub, who when on his honey moon in Spain met Mr Hill on the street, and asked him if he would come back to his hotel to meet his wife, where he also shared the only beer in the fridge. Before they parted Mr Hill gave him a phone number and asked him to call him when he got back. Which he did, Mr Hill then wrote him a letter inviting him and his wife out to dinner. He showed me the letter. They were picked up by car taken to the restaurant and enjoyed an evening with their favorite comedian. Benny was always a down to earth man, and a brilliant comic, our family loved his program.
Benny worked as a milkman and his round was in Eastleigh (around 7 miles from Southampton) and if you listen carefully to the song ‘Ernie’ the fastest milkman, you hear mention of Market street. Market street was on his round it’s still there today. Also a new housing Estate was built where the pirelli tyre factory used to be in Eastleigh and one road of flats was named ‘Benny hill close’ which was in homage to such a great talent
Loved Benny , his shows were full of laughter , So sad about the storey of some awful person /people digging up his grave how low can anyone get not to let someone rest in peace . i too left my mam's wedding ring on her when she died i would have been devastated if someone had of dug her grave with my dad up . Getting back to Benny thank you lovely man for giving us so much laughter and pleasure in watching you . x
Hi Rufus...I am from Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, and I just found your channel. I am a huge fan of Benny Hill ...I can't believe it has been 30 years since he passed away. Thank you for all you do...this is the third video I have watched so far...!
Hey Rufus. Sorry to interrupt mate. You said that Benny Hill was a Member of the Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers Corps (REME) yet; the photograph depicted of him here in uniform shows a shoulder flash that says ROYAL ARTILLERY and the cap badge on his forage cap depicts a ROYAL ARTILLERY BADGE. I say this as when I first joined the Australian Army, I was posted to the Royal Australian Artillery Regiment before transferring to the Gordon Highlanders (Australian Scottish Regiment).
I think the photo might of been from a tv/film he starred in, not too sure. I did realise this after I uploaded. Well spotted, I was waiting for someone to comment about it, can’t believe it took this long. 😅 Thank you for watching. 👍🏼
@@rufusgazelle ROTFL Rufus. Many thanks indeed for a very fast response. I did think of it afterwards really and thought that it was most likely he was transferred to different units as I was. It does happen. Cheers my friend. BTW; did you do a presentation on Molly Sugden from "ARE YOU BEING SERVED"? That was also one of my favourite shows as was ON THE BUSSES, RISING DAMP and BRUSH STROKES. Best wishes mate.
Luving your videos rufus, just incase you didn't no the coins are for getting into heaven, they used to place them on the eye lids in victorian days to pay the gate keeper to heaven.
