From my film for Chinese TV, 说出你的秘密 ("Confess Your Secrets").
I'm at the airport, battered and bruised, and finally tell my ex-wife that I've been a bastard and ask for her forgiveness. I say: "you've no idea what I've been through" and then, through a series of flashbacks, I tell her what's been happening:
Having been beaten up (in a previous scene), I get a call by my bedside. The voice on the phone is that of my dead girlfriend, Eva. I panic and want to go straight to church. But I'm taken to the cemetery by a taxi-driver who's in on the conspiracy to get me to leave China and leave my ex-wife alone. At the cemetery, a tape-recording plays Eva's voice. I'm scared. I leave there in distress, saying "it's all my fault".
At the airport, after offering my apologies, I fly out to Germany for good.
