I only knew the Christoph Waltz of "Inglorious Bastards" 2009 / "Django Unchained" 2012.................. He seems to have leapt into a teleport back to start of the '90's ! There is also "The Gravy Train" Series too, from a year earlier. Ian Richardson will always be the piece of work from "House of Cards" Trilogy.
Christoph Waltz is a veteran actor. He already did TV work in the mid 70s when he was in his early 20s. He's a brilliant comedic actor with a knack for playing hapless, naive characters. IMHO he's been selling out to Hollywood tosh lately, particularly from the likes of Tarantino.
I remember when this originally aired. Never saw it again on the telly. Thanks for the upload! My fave scene remains the flight with Comflug (presumably a slug at the former😆 GDR's Interflug) and the nonsensical announcements: "Loopy loopy nifty fifty..."
Thankfully they didn't give a stuff about being politically correct. Personally I'm amused by the depiction of supposed eastern European backwardness... though i30 years later it ironically feels like western Europe is falling back! It all plays like a more acrid episode of "Yes, Minister". Too bad this kind of humour is lost on today's audiences...
