For those wondering why they chose Herlock Sholmes as the copyright-dodging name for Sherlock Holmes, it's much more than just a lazy letter swap. The name comes from the Arsene Lupin novels of the early 20th century (for you Persona 5 and Lupin III fans, yes, that character). The author wrote Sherlock Holmes in as an adversary to Lupin, but Arthur Conan Doyle hit him with a Cease & Desist, forcing him to change it to Herlock Sholmes. While the copyright has expired for both characters (well, at least for the most part), Herlock Sholmes is still a popular reference among fans.

IIRC, the cold calculating version of Sherlock Holmes that most are familiar with, those particular stories are public domain. While the stories that characterize and humanize Sherlock Holmes still remain copyrighted to this day. It's why in any media depicting Sherlock Holmes he tends to be very cold/stoic.

??? He only said like two or three words in this trailer and he clearly sounds Japanese/British, not just straight-up British. I thought it was actually super cool that they got bilingual actors to play Ryuunosuke and Susato in the English version, as it gives some slight authenticity and flavour to the localisation. It’s a really nice touch that publishers don’t usually bother with. I checked and Ryuu’s VA is multi-lingual (his original accent is German but he speaks Japanese and several other languages). Susato’s VA is Japanese but is based in London. 👍🏽👍🏽

Apollo Justice would most likely be bundled with Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice, not Investigations.

Also since Apollo is the least love I the series it would make sense to bundle it with the game everyone wants Investigations 2. You could bundle DD and SoJ like this bundle or even add VS to make it the 3DS originals

you can use bluestacks and get AJ. AAI1, DD and SOJ on the Play if you want it on PC or you can get the roms and a ds emulator if you want the DS version.

the good thing about this particular series is that its a fresh new story with new characters, so you don't have to necessarily start with the original aa trilogy! though, in my opinion, you'll enjoy the great ace attorney a lot more if you play the previous games from the original AA trilogy. ^^ either way, i hope you have fun!

I only hope that this is as faithful to the original as the fan translation. It was so nice to not have a grossly localized Ace Attorney game. Too bad we'll need to mod it to fix those shameful name changes, but that's just the horrible world we live in. The localization seems good from what I'm seeing on the website. I won't be playing any of it in english, but man, I hope it's as good as the fan translation. They did such a good job.

Bruuuhhh I've been surrounded with Brit EN as of late I'm starting to think Brit EN on dubbing for Japanese games is becoming a new normal! 🤣 There's Final Fantasy 14 Endwalker and Final Fantasy 16 to wait for, then there's this! I've recently replayed Professor Layton VS. Phoenix Wright as well when leaks of this localization came out from the data breach.

Thank you so very much for localizing this, Capcom! I’m definitely preordering and looking forward to playing this! Also just want to let the localization team know to please keep the main series’s setting in Los Angeles. The LA setting really made me feel more connected to the game and its characters, so please keep the western versions setting in Los Angeles. Obviously this one is supposed to be in Japan because it takes place hundreds of years before the main series, but I just want to remind the localization team that I very much appreciated the LA setting of the main series games. That’s all, thank you very much, Capcom!

I doubt there are any plans to move the main setting of the localized games from Los Angeles. That's been set in stone since the time zone contradiction in 1-1.

Yes! I really, REALLY think he deserves that Smash invitation envelope in his hands. It would be the best! Also, Ace Attorney has The Great Ace Attorney as their profile picture. I think it means that it’s their new favorite/prouder of it. It might just be insignificant, though.
